Who do you view as the preseason #1 RB in the league this year.

I am quite sure many of you will already go with a proven guy, but my vote goes to Arian Foster this year for the whole season.

Arian Foster lost his FB, OG (not sure which one, but it was one!...I think), and RT, and it looks as if their 1st RD pick could be a WR, which means more passing and fewer attempts.

AD and Charles are coming off injuries.

MoJo Drew has Blaine Gabbert close by at any given moment.

Ray Rice doesn't get fed like he should in Baltimore.

/que BB after last two entries

Matt Forte has sand in his vagina, and will need it to be flushed out at halftime, which as we all know, is very distracting.

CJ2K gets a left side of Steve Hutchinson and Michael Roos, so he wins by default! 2 yards, 3 yards, -1 yards, 0 yards, 89 yard TD all day up in this thread! Mathematical!

He didn't lose his FB...that was last year when he lost Vonta Leach to the Ravens. James Casey took over at FB in 2011 and it worked out fine. He lost a guard, Brisiel, but it's not a big loss since Caldwell has started 10 games over the past 2 years due to Brisiel getting injured. Losing Winston hurts Foster since he was much better at run blocking than pass blocking. I know... It's the Shanny ZBS... They'll be fine... :(

But he did lose a FB! Vickers left in FA. Casey had to take over because of an injury (I think that's how it went down), and did well. It seems like he's more of a H-Back than West Coast FB though, but they'll probably be ok.

Foster off the right side was a money maker last year. Wonder how they'll replace that.

Jonathan Stewart if he goes to Pitt, Marshawn Lynch could really go off if Flynn turns out to be for real. Ray Rice will be at the top, along with Foster and MJD. MJD might have a tough time reproducing his numbers from last year, but they were surprising last year. So who knows. Chris Johnson could bounce back.

Guys I can see breaking out this next year would be Jonathan Stewart (moreso on a new team), Marshawn Lynch (last year was a breakout year of sorts, but he could take it next-level), both Doug Martin and Trent Richardson could have huge rookie years in the right places, and... Don't forget about DeMarco Murray.

96 rushing yards a game for the remainder of the season (games he played in until he got hurt) starting from week 5, the first game he went over 10 carries. Averaged 5.7 yards per carry over that span (9 games). Also averaged 2.5 catches for another 20-ish yards per game. But if you take those numbers and say he stays healthy, his team stays healthy, and they don't try to keep pretending Felix Jones is the starter, his production from the time he took over through the rest of the season projects over 16 games to

1500 rushing yards and 40 catches for 300 receiving yards, which puts him in the conversation. He only had two touchdowns last year, but when he was playing he was gaining yards in chunks. Made some pretty decent defenses look pretty bad. (Seattle, Washington)

He most definitely can carry the load, just look at the games and the pace he was at least year before his injury.

I believe he can stay healthy, yes. He does a good job of breaking tackles without taking too much punishment (opposite of mbIII). His ankle injury last year was kind of a freak thing, it got caught under a defender as he was being tackled from behind, it looked pretty bad/unlucky.

DeMarco Murray will be scary if he stays healthy. I like Charles a lot, but he is coming off injury and splitting carries with Hillis. Foster will have a down year. Greene could have a solid year with Sparano's Offense in place. I also really like Blount with Nicks added to that o-line and some passing weapons to take attention away from him. Lynch will have a great year if Flynn plays well. Tough to pick with no real stand-outs.

I think Ray Rice, Murray, Lynch and Blount will all have great seasons this year.

Shady will be tops in the league again, if he stays healthy. The guy led the league in yards and TDs most of the year and isn't getting much recognition. With our entire starting OL (which has turned out to be pretty damn good) now under contract for the next three seasons, McCoy is primed to have great seasons ahead of him. It takes a great RB to expect a 1,000 yard rusher with Reid as your HC, but at this point, if he plays a whole season, I expect a 1,200 yard rushing season, 18-22 rushing TDs, and an additional ~500 yards and 4 or 5 receiving TDs, maybe more. I feel safe saying it now, but Shady is an elite RB, top 5 easy. If I had to put the elite RBs together right now, it'd be, in no particular order...

AD (injured)
Charles (coming off injury, will be interesting to see how he has recovered)

Darren McFadden is a beast when healthy. Top 10 back in the league and could put up huge numbers next year.

My top 5 next year would be:

LeSean McCoy
Arian Foster
MJD
Ray Rice
Darren McFadden

Charles and AP both coming of injuries. I believe they will be back to normal later in the season, but will start a little slow. Especially AP because the injury was late in the season.

Will AP be back to training camp and preseason?

"In shape" and "in football shape" are two different things. I like Charles a lot, guy is a beast, but he won't be truly at full strength until he takes a few hard shots, realizes the surgeon(s) did their jobs right, and continues on. He's probably close to 100% health physically, but after any severe injury you've got to build confidence back before you are back all the way.

I don't know if I can see it. It's going to be a lot harder to keep Spiller off of the field this year, and Fred's overall effectiveness was somewhat limited once Bell went out last season, so the question mark at left tackle isn't helping matters. You could also be concerned about the injury he's coming off of and potential unhappiness with his contract, but I'm hoping those won't factor in as much. Spiller is the biggest detraction, by far. He's not Freddy, yet, but he's a high end player.

I do see his right side getting worse blocking though with the loss of both Brisiel and Winston...they made a good run blocking wall on that side.

He just lost Vickers his FB to the Cowboys. James Casey plays H-Back and will replace Dreesen who left for Denver.

Either way you look at it, they lost two players on their offensive line that are going to be downgraded.

I think you've got to go narrow it down to Rice, McCoy, MJD, Forte, and CJ2K.

Look at the logic on this guy. Says mojo can't be the best because he has blaine gabbert. Mojo had blaine gabbert in 2011 and lead the league in rushing by 250 yards. Good job coming up with that.

Ray Rice will be the best back this year prompting us to give him that big ol fat contract that he's after. Then he'll start to break down right after never playing up to the contract we gave him.

Ray Rice does not break down. Foolish statement is foolish.

Carrying the ball 300 times is usually indicative of a poor following year.

That's 400.

I am in love with the phrase, "Look at the logic on this guy."

LETS USE IT FOREVER

Shady, Arian Foster, MJD, & Ray Rice. AD if he's 100%. Those are the top 5 elite backs right now for me, hard to really break up that top group, MJD is probably closest to falling out.

Very excited about Murray, I love RB's who have incredible vision and he has that. He finds the holes instead of running into a wall of defenders where the hole was supposed to be. Reminds me so much of a young Clinton Portis.

Yup, I was pissed when he went to Dallas. We both were big fans of his coming out, I remember that. I was shocked he fell to the 3rd, I had him as a 2nd rounder.

Trent Richardson's left leg is better than any other RB in this class.
