When Filling out my bracket these were my upset picks:

-San Diego St. over Indiana: Brandon Heath and Marcus Slaughter are Beast.
-UNC Wilmington over George Washington: GW is a fast break team but they don't play defense, they have no half court offense, and they can't hit free throws.
-Seton Hall over Wichita State: Wichita is the 7 seed and Seton Hall is the 10 seed but Seton Hall is much better with the competition they played. I still think however that it should be Cinci playing in this game rather than Seton Hall.
-George Mason over Michigan State: Mason has great underrated players in Folarin Campbell, Jai Lewis, Tony Skinn among others.

*And one pick I didn't make that I was tempted to on by bracket was Xavier over Gonzaga.

Mr. Crotch Shot is suspended for the first game. If he was there i would feel bette rpicking that upset. I was still tempted but did not pick it. I have San Diego State in the Sweet 16 as well as Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Seton Hall.

I have a gut feeling that UAB could go far. Don't ask me why, cause I hardly know anything about College Basketball. But from what games I have seen them play this season (which was two...) they looked pretty good. When I get my bracket printed out, I'll probably have UAB go to the Sweet 16... at least.

I think Northern Iowa has the best chance out of that group with their shooting.

I like Witchita State to make it, and I think they would be a Cinderella because of their mid-major affiliation.

I don't have anyone higher than a 6 in the sweet 16 (Oklahoma), but I have Gonzaga losing in the first.

George Mason over Michigan State.

No, Mason doesn't even deserve to be in the tourney. MSU usually plays very well in the tourney, and should have one the Big Ten this year (with the talent they have)

Winthrop becomes only the 5th #15 seed ever to beat a #2 seed. As a result, Wichita St. makes the S16 before falling to UNC.

Iona shocks LSU in the first round before losing to 'Cuse.

N Iowa upends Georgetown and gives Ohio St a run for their money before losing in OT.

Who's the #12 seed that wins this year? Surprise: Utah St.

Who's the #11 seed that wins this year? UW-Milwaukee.

After the first round, the upsets die down a little:

S16 teams: Duke, Syracuse, West Va, Texas; Memphis, Kansas, Indiana, UCLA; UConn, Illinois, UNC, Wichita St; Villianova, Nevada, Florida, Ohio St

E8 teams: Duke, West Va, Kansas, UCLA, UConn, UNC, Nova, Ohio St

F4 teams: Duke, Kansas, UNC, Nova

Championship: Duke over UNC

well I have kansas in the final four for one of my brackets so I have them beating memphis, which is an upset I guess.

I like both those teams from the valley but there are reasons I feel that Northern Iowa has almost no chance while Witchita States draw gives them a "maybe"

Northern Iowa:
1. Ben Jacobson - This guy is their team and his offense is off at the moment
2. Grant and Coleman aren't nearly enough to contain Hibbert and company on the inside
3. They have been slumping as of late with their big wins against Iowa and LSU coming in 2005

Witchita State:
1. Paul Miller and Sean Ogirri provide a great inside outside game
2. Seton Hall is fairly weak on the inside as well as Tennessee
Now for the Bad
1. Seton Hall is out to prove that they deserved the bid they got
2. The Halls most disturbing losses came to the top 2 seeds of the tourney
3. Witchita States only quality wins came against other teams in their own conference, a power conference team like Seton Hall has a decent chance of taking them down

First round upsets:
(12) Montana over (5) Nevada
(11) UW-Millwaukee over (6)Oklahoma
(10) Seton Hall over Wichita State(not really an upset though)
(11) Southern Illinois over West Virginia
(10) NC State over California(again, not really an upset)
(12) Kent State over Pittsburgh
(14) Xavier over Gonzaga
(10) Alabama over (7) Marquette

Second round upsets:
(6) MSU over (3) UNC
(9) Buckness over (1) Memphis
(10) Seton Hall over (2) Tennessee

Sweet Sixteen upsets:
(4) Boston College over (1) Villanova
(6) Indiana over (2) UCLA

And that's really about it for the semi-big upsets. I'll probably change half of them before the tourneys tarts though.

UNI lost 6 of its last 8 games they shouldnt even be in

Seton hall's most disturbing loss came 2 St. Johns who lost to Hofstar meaning Hofstra should be in

Im still annoyed about Hofstra.

A loss to St. Johns who played alot of very good teams very tight is not quite as bad as losing to Duke and UNC by 53 and 42 points respectively

my bad i think i said Uconn in the other post. Seton Halls season is the story of two teams. Later in the season Orr brought them together and manageed to lead them to some wuality wins over NC State, West Virginia and Pittsburgh

I will concede that GW does not hit FT's. However, that percentage is skewed by Pops Mensa-Bonsu, who shoots about 53% from the line. He took between 25 and 30% of our FT's this season. If you take his 53% out, the team is shooting in the low 70%, which is pretty decent. GW does play good defense. They force 15-20 TO's per game and run out in transition. Look at the stats there. The way to beat GW is to keep them from running, then forcing them to slow down their half court sets by denying them passing lanes. They can run their half court offense very well at their pace. If you slow it down, they struggle more.

And a 9 seed over an 8 really isn't an upset, especially when GW is playing UNC Wilmington in North Carolina...

Sleeper is UAB if they get game against Memphis they can upset Memphis and then make it to Final 4?

I like Ohio State to go all the way!

My final is Gonzaga vs Ohio State!

Wisconsin Mil. has a real legit shot for the sweet 16. This team flat out was much better than a 11 seed. They returned a sweet 16 team from last year and have some big time scorers and athletes with tourney experience, watch out for more from them.
