View Full Version : Shayne Skov, LB, Stanford

I really like Shayne Skov (6'3", 250-pounds) as a ILB prospect only behind Manti Te'o of Notre Dame. I have Skov infront of Kevin Reddick of North Carolina at this time.
The question with Skov, how is he going to be coming back from a ACL tear and on top of that he did have a DUI within the last year I believe. Skov missed all but three games of the 2011 season due to that knee injury. He led the Cardinal with 84 tackles and had 7½ sacks in 2010.
Any help making this url link into a viewable video would be helpful as well.

He really impressed me during the Orange Bowl a couple seasons ago. He was all over the field. Like you said, how he comes back from the knee injury is key. I wonder if this guy could play SAM in a 4-3.

How is he playing so far this year?

He's a douchey boarding school kid with pretty significant character concerns. Heard quite a few stories about him, as I went to a rival high school. My 10 cents, keep in mind these rumors are rumors.

He looks like he's a roider. He's so much bigger than he was even his junior year of high school. I mean unnaturally so. He plays fast, can shed blocks, and he can certainly get to the QB. I'd say he's probably a second rounder.

PEDs are just a part of the game nowadays. More players than most fans would like to admit have been on a cycle at some point. What you hope is that a player's entire performance on the field isn't a product of PEDs.
He's got prototype size for a 3-4 ILB and before the injury Skov looked like one of the best 'backers in the Pac 12.
If his knee checks out and he tests well at the combine/Stanford pro day, he looks like a 3rd-5th round pick who eventually is a starter at the next level.

Would like to keep the response to what we know and not rumors. He's coming off an injury that is probably going to take a good season to get back to full speed. Would probably have to have a good combine to get up into that top 2 round area but he's proven himself before and could well again.
