It's finally over. No longer do I have to worry about having to go through what Seattle, Vancouver and Montreal went through. I'm happy for my state, for my fellow fans and for my father, who raised me to follow this team through the thick and thin. I'm also happy we get to keep this great division together. I love you Lionsbros. I love you Bearsbros. I love you Packersbros. Holy **** I am so happy right now. I don't even care what the stadium will look like, or if it has a roof or not. My Vikings, the states most popular and most recognizable team, are staying in Minnesota.

Congrats. I'm glad they are staying put. Now NFL let's get to work on moving the Jags to LA.

Jacksonville is doing much better selling tickets recently, which is impressive considering they have been crappy in recent years and Jacksonville got hit by the crappy economy harder than most cities. With a new owner saying he'll keep the team in Jacksonville, I don't think they'll be moving. I think teams like San Diego, Oakland, or Tampa Bay are much more likely.

I don't see why this couldn't have gone in the other thread about the Vikings, but congrats regardless. I almost wanted the Vikings to move, but **** LA.

Whoa......... hold your horses, there guys. It ain't over yet.

It still needs to get approved by the Minneapolis City Council. Granted, they previously told the legislature that the majotiry of them (7 to 6) would support a new stadium being built in their city. But it only takes one dip **** to have a last minute change of opinion to hold this thing up even further.

I must admit however, i have been throwing out some Minny-fist pumps since the senate passed it....

Its basically a formality, like you said they already said they would vote for it and they won't deal with the shitstorm it would cause if they were the ones to shut it down after all of this.

Here's to 30 more years and a couple more lost NFC Championship games.

I understand your hesitance to celebrate given this entire ridiculous process, but its done.

After having read through the LA offer, I doubt they are going to see a team any time soon. There is no good offer really. Minnesota passed reasonable deal given that they were basically bidding against themselves.

Glad to see the Vikings staying in Minnesota though.

I think I'll join the celebration as well. It wouldn't feel right having an NFL without the Vikings. There's just too much history there. Really happy for you guys.

Minnesota needs to make an outdoor stadium. They have such a sick home field advantage with that blistering cold, why take it away with a dome?

It's not like Viking fans were pouring into the seats bc of the dome anyway. Use the cold to your advantage.

There is no roof so that the stadium can be used all year, for things like the Super Bowl and Final Four. Would have been cool to have the whole frozen tundra home advantage, but I'm cool with this.

You overestimate the amount that NFL front offices care about winning and underestimate how much they care about making money. Building an open air stadium in a city where there would regularly be games played in -25 degree temperatures is an awful business decision. They can do it in places like Lambeau because no one wants to have events like the Final Four or the Super Bowl in Green Bay.

Hopefully they actually build some field drainage so you don't have to have pristine conditions to have the roof open. Unlike in Indy.

I'm happy that the Vikings are staying! The Packers/Vikings rivalry would suck if the Vikings moved to LA. :beers:

My guess is STL to LA, Rams can leave if their stadium isn't "state of the art" after next year I believe
