After reading this article I got to thinking that maybe it was a blessing in disguise that Blackmon didn't fall to us. There was a lot of talk about him possibly having difficulty picking up an NFL offense.

Mularkey quickly developed sixth overall pick Julio Jones into a consistent force with the Falcons last season. The Jaguars don't have an established quarterback -- Blaine Gabbert is ahead of Chad Henne on the current depth chart -- as Mularkey did with Matt Ryan in Atlanta, and also lack an established veteran with experience in the offense. Because Mularkey is installing the offense on the fly, even longtime pro such as Laurent Robinson are ingesting it for the first time.

It seems as though more than just Blackmon is struggling for the Jags. There could be another reason for it...

To be fair, Laurent Robinson screams FA bust to me. 1 good year as a 3rd option with a far superior QB to Gabbert, abnormally high percentage of his catches were TD's (unsustainable, already seen that happen with Marcedes Lewis in JAX).

That's not to say Blackmon will be a bust. I've heard opinions ranging from stud to the next Michael Crabtree (which is pretty average overall). I don't watch much college football so i couldn't say either way.

So you're telling me that a little over a month after being drafted, Blackmon hasn't made a seamless and perfect transition to the NFL? What a disappointment.

I don't always drink beer, but when I do, it's because Blaine Gabbert is my quarterback.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say this is a bigger story than him looking lost at times during practices...
