I'm really glad we gots Brian Shouse. Anyways, there's a rumor going around that the Crew may be interested in Matt Cain in the offseason and that the Giants are interested in Rickie Weeks, Prince Fielder, Bill Hall or JJ Hardy, think could go down? If it's for Weeks and/or Hall, hopefully. As for tonight, here's to hoping Big Ben can bounce back and get some good innings.

No. It's the whole coaching staff. Ned is one of the worst managers in MLB, you already talked about Skaalen, Sveum has just been awful with sending runners as the third base coach, Simmons looks like he doesn't want to be there, and while I kind of like him Maddux hasn't been doing his job too well. They're Ned's hand picked guys, and just like him they all need to get out of town.

It's not the talent level, we have that, it's the mindset. It doesn't even matter if Sveum is going to be a good manager, he's going to be a change, somebody different. Right now the Brewers are playing like ****, and history isn't exactly on our side with this. A move like this shows the players that the team expects to win, and when they start pissing away their best chance for the second, even third, year in a row, heads are going to roll.

Sveum is going to suck. I hope so bad that he doesn't get the real job. He along with the rest of the staff need to follow Ned after the season's done.

And as to princefielder28's post, I had a nice response typed up to it but I accidentally clicked the football at the top of the page and lost it all. I'm not going to type it up again so in short, I disagree.

Maybe not now but the way the Brewers were going you cant tell me Ned didnt even sense that if the Brewers didnt start winning he would be gone after this season. Does he think that the Brewers tanking it every season and missing the playoffs is good enough to keep his job, especially after we are playing win now or were screwed pretty much. CC and Sheets likely gone after this season so its huge!

there's a big difference between the end of the season and 12 games remaining; i am sure that Ned knew if they missed the playoffs that is job would be in severe jeopardy, but there's no way anyone could've forecasted what happened yesterday

No way. I don't want any former '82 Brewer becoming manager. We need to go outside of the organization and get someone who has prior managing experience at the big league level, preferably someone who's had success in the majors. Had we fired Ned last year like we should have we could've had Joe Torre.

3B Craig Counsell
2B Ray Durham
LF Ryan Braun
1B Prince Fielder
RF Corey Hart
CF Mike Cameron
C Mike Rivera
SS JJ Hardy
P Ben Sheets

Kendall is big in calling a game, but the team needs some production from the bottom of the order so Rivera provides more offense and JJ Hardy is in a spot where he can be aggressive

Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Eric Gagne bought 5,000 tickets to tonight's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates and plans to give them away.

"Tonight we'll be playing one of the most important games in franchise history, and I can think of no better way to thank the fans than giving families an opportunity to pack Miller Park," Gagne said in a statement released by the team. "No matter what happens over these next four games, I want everyone to know that I think the world of Brewers fans. Three million times they have walked through the gates this year and none of us on the field takes their support for granted. We're going to have some fun out here, and I know that the atmosphere will be electric."

Beginning at 3:30 p.m., fans can go to Brewers.com to request up to four tickets. Click on the "Gagne Giveaway" graphic to go to the ticket request page and enter "Gagne" as the password when prompted.

Fans requesting the complimentary tickets will be subject to a one-time $2 fee for printing their ticket order at home, or a $4 per order fee for picking at Miller Park will call.

Tickets are first come, first served.

worse than this year. slightly better than what people are giving 'em credit for.

losing CC and Sheets will hurt. but, we're getting Gallardo back, so, in that sense, we'll only be down one awesome pitcher. and, i think Gallardo is better than Sheets anyway.

Mike Cameron will also likely be gone...which is....mildy bad news.

but, the contracts of Sheets, Gagne, Cameron and Sabathia will be off the books and that money has to go somewhere. would love to see a good #2 pitcher and a solid centerfielder.

the other problem will be third base. it's been an issue all year, and who knows what'll be done next year.

so, we'll have a couple glaring needs in the off season. we'll see what happens.
