This is where have Bush in the pen would be a great help.
yeah, we're only down 3-0 but for how much Villy is struggling and the fact that Wainright just homered off him, we need a long-inning guy in this situation

Brewers fall 5-4 to the Cards...9th inning rally comes up short but they fought hard

Didnt get to see the game don't think it was on FSN. Anyway after starting 6-1 we have went 2-5. Sure hope we learn how to beat the Reds and Cards because thats our next 7 games so far we are 1-4 against them.
Did someone give Prince a brat yet?? Did he finally homer yet our not?

nope, but he did get a rbi, that man needs a hot beef injection
PackerLegend

Hopefully he hits one soon and then just explodes a hits a homer every single game left. Hitting multiple homers every game. :D Beef sounds good right about now so does KFC.... I hadn't noticed that in your sig until today.

no one ever does, thats why i love it, cause the KFC head quarters is like a quarter mile from UofL campus

ok so today, we have both gross and Council playing, that means no Hall or Kapler. So my question is where are we going to get an offense from today, with Braun and Fielder, having some really cold bats right now.

Big Ben may be injured
What's with pulling Sheets? He better not be injured. He looks fine, but injury is the only logical explanation for him being out. A 2 hit shut out with 60 pitches and a 4-0 lead. Not to mention our bullpen needs rest. What the hell are you doing Ned?
EDIT: soreness in the tricept. Well it could be worse

I'm glad to see that Stetter was able to get settled down and do his job after struggling early on. It would sure be nice to keep 2 lefties in the pen if he performs well. I'm also pleased to see Gagne continue to get results. It's not pretty but he's getting the job done.

Ballplayers aren't going to say no when they're healthy enough to play, especially a guy like Gagne who is a new teammate and feels like he let the team down the day before. But it's common sense, you don't send your closer for 4 straight days much less 5 STRAIGHT DAYS. Ye gods, I really like the Brew Crew because they are such a fun and exciting young team, but I want to strangle Yost to choke the stupid out of him, I can't imagine how fans of the team like you guys deal with this.

I am talking even before Rivera or Hardy are used upRivera isn't included since he's the back up catcher. Hardy would definitely hit before Gallardo unless it's a situation where we aren't in position to score a run that inning and we'd save Hardy for a more important at bat. yeah the guy they got hasnt done anything yet but still was a 2nd rounder in 06. Probably isnt the prospect he was when drafted but still cant really argue with getting a 2nd rounder 2 years ago for gabe gross.
Good. It's not so much that I dislike Gabe Gross, I just hated how Yost would use him. He was always one of his favorite pinch hitters even though he was almost never hitting well. With Kapler, Gwynn, and Cameron all of which are better than him so there's no room anyway. Butler is a long ways away from being anywhere near Milwaukee, but he's a decent prospect.
Big play by Rickie Weeks there.

Props have to go out to Mitch Stetter as well. He has pitched so well since getting the call up and has provided Yost with a nice second left handed option out of the pen.

How about that game for ur top 3 whipping boys Brewer fans? Fielder with 2 homers, Turnbow with a save, and Yost managing a great game. Managing with guts, I love it. Now Turnbow is confident, Prince is back on track, and it was a good game. BTW, I am going back to Miller Park on Friday night. The Brewers are 0-2 when I don't see them play the Pirates, 2-0 when I do. Lets see if they can beat the Marlins. And I get in half price, and if its $1 hot dog night, I'm gonna have 15.

good win.
but, let's review something here:
we're keeping 14 pitchers so our bullpen doesn't get stretched. and, what happened last night...we had no bullpen AND we've been using pitchers as pinch hitters.
i officially question this strategy.

yeah, Bush has gotta be gone I assume when Cameron comes back. I also wouldnt mind Dillon getting called back up, but Stetter and McClung who are the most likely options to get sent down are pitching great right now. Even if we keep 13 pitchers and have Kapler, Gwynn, and Counsell as pinch hitters with Rivera for emergencies I could be ok with that.

That was a great job. Unfortunately I wasn't paying full attention because there was something more entertaining going on in the stands. A couple rows behind me there was some guy that was just out cold (had more than a few too many). He's sitting in his seat with his head down passed out. So his buddies decide to have a little fun with this. One guy takes two large soda cups and balances them on his head. His friends clap for it. This gets me and the people around to turn around and see what's going on because there was nothing going on in the game to get that response. So at this point the people in our section are all watching and one of his friends stacks another two on. Everyone in our section lets out a cheer; he's still out and has no idea what's going on. The cheer gets the two neighboring sections interested so now sections 422-424 and some random people that have come over from other sections to see what's going on are all watching this guy. Some people in the row infront of them hand his friend a couple more cups and he proceeds to carefully put them on top of the other four. He's successful and the three sections go wild. No reaction from the guy he's still out and now has six soda cups stacked on top of his head. Sitting down and with the cups it must have been 6 feet high because it was as tall as his friend. It stays that way with out falling through the top half of the 7th inning. Mid way through the 7th inning stretch he wakes up. Poor timing because the crowd reaction would have been a lot better if it wasn't during Roll Out the Barrell. The rest of the ball park must have been confused as hell if they didn't know what was going on. I wish I had a picture to share with you guys, but there were a lot of other people with cameras so maybe it will find its way online.

Dillon does bring alot of versaility off the bench and he is a good contact hitter so he's key in pinching hitting situations.

Matt LaPorta Update
In 26 games Matt is batting .319 with 9 homers and 30 runs batted in.
I think he'll end up playing right field when he comes up to the majors with Hart moving over to center. Braun could be an option for right too and have LaPorta play left because Ryan has shown a pretty strong arm and he wouldn't be a liability in that dpeartment in right.

Ya know.. I am a little bummed about Turnbow. He's a goon, but he seemed like a good guy. I loved when he was throwing smoke. He converted 51 of his first 55 saves. Poor guy. Ah well, he won't be playing for us but he still gets 3.2 million dollars.
Think about it. His ERA is 15.00... That means if he pitched a full 9 innings, the other team would score 15 runs. SICK. I was looking on ESPN.com and the stat for ''last 7 days'' for Turnbow said ERA of 81.00 ... That's enough to make a man ralf.
There's no worse feeling that being up by 1 in the 9th and having your relief pitcher walk the first guy nearly every single time. Thankfully Gagne came back last night. He's coming around.
