MOOOOOAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRR Primetime games. Of course, the Week 8 Gameday thread in the NFL forum will be awful and pathetic, but hey, jealousy can get ugly.

I was hoping we’d get a chance to see the 49ers blow up this guy:
http://urbanchristiannews.com/ucn/kevin-kolb-seattle-seahawks-VS-arizona-cardinals.jpg
But somebody else already took care of that. Shocking. I thought Kolb was Mr. Durability, until I found out that Mrs. Ochocinco is tougher. Weird.

http://i.azcentral.com/commphotos/view/612479.jpg

So, instead we get to see this again:

http://i.azcentral.com/commphotos/view/618589.jpg

Remember when the Cardinals were:
http://i.azcentral.com/commphotos/view/625978.jpg
Yeah, that was 3 losses ago. We can effectively shutdown the rest of their season with a win here.

I have a crush on these guys:
http://nfl49ers.files.wordpress.com/2012/10/madden1.jpg
They’ve been absolutely mauling people in the run game and the pass pro has been great as well.

They’ll have their hands full this week though as they face this:
http://www.bostonglobe.com/rf/image_r/Boston/2011-2020/2012/09/14/BostonGlobe.com/Sports/Images/cards222.r.jpg

And this:
http://cdn3.sbnation.com/uploads/chorus_image/image/1615651/gyi0062895501.0_standard_352.0.jpg

Sigh. And this:
http://nflcardinals.files.wordpress.com/2012/09/dwashbloguse.jpg
I say we just do a bunch of this:
http://davisenterprise.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/18goreW.jpg

And very little of this:
http://www.deseretnews.com/images/article/midres/941040/941040.jpg
Because of this:
http://cdn2-b.examiner.com/sites/default/files/styles/image_content_width/hash/18/d3/18d3d9804ad8ee9f04dfc1d60ddb71af.jpg

So, I heard people don’t like our QB. I mean, who wouldn’t LOVE this guy:
http://ww1.hdnux.com/photos/06/73/31/1816140/31/628x471.jpg

Here’s an obligatory pic, because there really is nothing left to say about this guy anymore:
http://www1.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Larry+Fitzgerald+Arizona+Cardinals+v+San+Francisco +L4vjTWke50wl.jpg
Always a concern. Always scary.

Speaking of scary:
http://i.azcentral.com/commphotos/view/629960.jpg
It’s like going to a Raider game

And finally, just cause something similar just happened to me:
http://ragetoons.com/cartoons/2010/20101106-49ers-jersey-rage.jpg

Standings:
NFC WEST
1. San Francisco 49ers (5-2)
2. Arizona Cardinals (4-3)
2. Seattle Seahawks (4-3)
4. St. Louis Rams (2-4)

Damn Niner fans! OMG can't you just leave SWDC alone!?

How much you wanna bet someone else other than a 49ers fan tries to draw up the forum clique/comradery card and tries to start something and then in turn blame the 49ers fans?

A: "Go 49ers! Whoo!"

B: "OMG are we (que for everyone to join the in-crowd) going to have to listen to these kinds of comments for the rest of the year on this message boad!?"

Anyways, I expect this to be another grind it out win. The good thing is that Skelton is starting and probably doesn't have as many reps yet. The offensive line is the worst in the league and maybe Brooks or Smith have a HOF game. Hopefully the offense for the 49ers doesn't do...well, nothing like last time and keep the Cardinals in the game.

Hopefully, we'll escape Arizona with a win and improve to 6-2 going into the bye week. If NE and DET can beat STL and SEA respectively, we'll be three games ahead of both ARZ and SEA with STL pretty much done. Even if STL beats NE, if DET can somehow beat SEA, I'll be an extremely happy camper.

Cardinals 13

Why do you guys even care about what's said in the NFL thread? I barely post in that thread. Just no point and nothing more than a waste of time.

Anyway.....with SEA and STL losing yesterday, we have a huge opportunity to pretty much seal up the division with a win tonight. Halfway through the season at 6-2 going into our bye week will be huge and coming out of the bye, we can finish off the Rams in SF. SEA and ARZ could have losing records going into their bye week respectively. We need to beat the Cardinals tonight and close in on winning the division title for the second year in a row.

As do I but im not going to waste my time talking to morons who bash the 49ers from top to bottom despite the fact that the majority of them are fans of a team that sucks beyond belief and wishes they had half our team. Well, I will say that the 49ers need this win at this time because the Rams and Seahawks lost yesterday and a victory would give the 49ers some breathing room in the NFC West for the lead. Not only that, it helps keep pace with the top two seeded teams in the NFC. Right now, it's the Bears, Falcons, and Giants.

Quite simply, being an SF Giants fan is exhausting. And because baseball is my first love, and even though I love football too, it's more of a mistress for me while baseball is my wife.

I'm sure I'll be into the game once it starts. But right now, if I'm not thinking about my family or work or something like that, then I'm mentally enjoying the Giants ... and it is glorious.

Are you like an older version of my SF sports fanhood? I bleed orange and black (also played club baseball from the moment I could walk till I left HS), but the 49ers are like the 1b to my Giants 1a.

Except the draft. Something about the pageantry surrounding the entire process is enthralling.

Also, I'm with you on the 1a and 1b stuff. Not sure how the Giants became first, but I think it had to do with the Niners just steamrolling teams so easily and at the same time the Giants would get close but never finish the deal. Also, because baseball is badass if you like to get into all the extended strategy.

I know most disagree, but I've always felt that baseball was the best sport because it requires more strategy than football :\

Why do you care so much if a team throws it deep? You do realize that the league average for completion percentage of passes that travel 20+ yards downfield is like 40%, right?

Why? At long as the average is respectable for your quarterback it doesn't matter if you throw deep or not. You're starting to sound like Al Davis and quite frankly it is unsettling.

Alex played a clean game but my god, he takes way too many sacks that he shouldn't. You know where the blitz coming from, make a sight adjustement hit the hot read, if not throw the ball in the dirt or over everyone's head to the sideline. I see QBs worst than Alex do this every Sunday. I put one sack on Goodwin but the rest you just have to play smarter. But a good win, none the less. Great way to head into the bye.

I agree. Two of those sacks he took were stupid. Like I said in the Week eight thread, though, the last one is okay in my book. I would rather punt it away at midfield with a 21-point lead and one of the best punters in the NFL than throw a risky pass. Those two early ones were dumb, though.

Happy that we not only won but we dominated the Cardinals. Three game lead going into the bye week. Could be 3 1/2 if ARZ and SEA lose this coming Sunday. So happy!!! :)

And thanks for the compliment Ness. Talking about other teams is good but whenever its about the 49ers, its just meaningless.

Ugh. All I am hearing this morning is how Alex checked down so much last night and didn't actually play well. Greenberg even mentioned this morning that his average pass traveled only 5.6 yards last night, at 4.4 for this season which is higher than the likes of Brady, Peyton, Brees, Ryan, Roethlisberger just to name a few. Aaron Rodgers led the league in that category last year at 4.9 yards.

In other news, the lack of pass rush is disturbing. Sure we got four sacks last night but that was in like 60 dropbacks.
