Short and sweet version of the story is that the student-manager for USC deflated a significant portion of USC's game balls after they passed inspection before the game. According to the story, all of these were fixed by halftime.

Is this a story?

Does this mean Matt Barkley has Alex Smith-sized hands?

Maybe his receivers need them to be softer to catch?

Pathetic either way.

homefield advantage. kinda sounds like something they'd do in old school football back in the '50s.

too bad deflated footballs don't make you play better defense.

I guess Marquise Lee likes catching softer balls. Not that there is anything wrong with that...

Wow, Lane Kiffin hires ambitious student managers.

Because I'm sure he wasn't prompted to do this in any way.

The kid completely acted on his own. Totally wanted to try and help the team without letting anyone know.

Lane Kiffin is such a jackass.

I can imagine it now.

"Hey kid, I need you to take the fall for this. You're a student-manager, no one will remember in a few days."

A few days later....

"Whelp, looks like we're gonna have to let you go, kid. Here's a Red Bull and an 8-ball of coke. Coach Orgeron said it was the least we could do. Good luck!"

ugh great, now we have to sink to SEC levels of cheating to ensure a competitive advantage.

Lane Kiffin is such a jackass.

I guess our teams have something in common.

This reminds me of the Jets coach who tripped that player running up the sideline. He took the fall for it and was never heard from again.

He's the strength and conditioning coach at UCLA now.

Well that's good to know. Still out of the NFL though.

Hey, Urban may be a raging jackass, but he's OSU's jackass. For at least another 2 seasons. And yes, I don't really like Urban "Hyperbole" Meyer but he's one hell of a coach.

I see no way in hell he'd have an equipment manager deflate balls and then fire him for it. Kiffin is a douchebag.

Yes because you know it was Kiffen that made him do it. For all we know Barkley or the receivers asked him to do that.

SEC levels of cheating? We just pay for players. Once we get them we just beat people. We don't pull **** like this.

Kiffen's responsible for I-5 gridlock and budget deficits there in California too.

Just another example of the type of deplorable human being Lane Kiffin is, no one should believe the student manager acted alone.

I might be alone here, but I don't see why we have to assume Kiffin was involved. There are a whole bunch of possible explanations for this that don't include him.

With Kiffin's record, and the whole jersey changing thing a while back.. no way to other parties shouldnt be held accountable.

What in his history of being a slimebag suggests he isn't involved?

Nothing, but it seems odd to just assume he's involved when there's nothing to link him to it, and it's something simple enough that anyone could have planned.
