Got a kick out of going through these lists from when I was really into recruiting.. the 2002-2006 Rivals100 lists.

Some highlights from 2002:

Reggie McNealzzzzzzzzz (Anyone who remembers FutureScout knows that he thought Reggie McNeal was literally Jesus Christ reincarnated on a football field)

Ryan Moore - Great as a freshman for Miami, then fell off the face of the earth

Marcus Vick - Remember when people thought he was better than his brother?

Ciatrick Fason - Was convinced C4 would be an absolute stud

Kyle Wright - was a stud in HS, too bad he went thru so many coordinators at Miami.

Prescott Burgess - Thought he was going to be an AA/1st round draft pick. That one didn't work out.

What are some of the names you haven't heard in awhile that you've found?

Florida State's 2005 recruiting class sticks out to me. I thought Fred Rouse was going to be a star. I was so excited when Callahan Bright signed his LOI on signing day. I thought Antone Smith was going to be a better Leon Washington. I really thought this would be the class (along with Xavier Lee from the previous year) were going to lead FSU back to greatness. Boy was I wrong.

Whitney Lewis, Vidal Hazelton, Herschal Dennis, Emmanuel Moody, Lorenzo Booker.

Mainly USC guys that I remember over the years, but there are a lot out there.

#37 overall and a 4-star is usually a high praise for a HS prospect, but it seems really low for Calvin Johnson.

How many five-star QBs panned out over the last 10 years?

Oy. The Patrick Willis recruiting stories still get to me.

Too soon.
