Just for my beau BF51.

But really because the cycle pretty much starts now, and the Vols have like 18 bajillion beastly legacies in this class.

Go!

South Florida is beyond crazy next year. Time for Al Golden, James Coley and Mario Crystal Ball to lock things down completely.

Sony Michel (RB), Dalvin Cook (RB/ATH), Ermon Lane (WR) and KC McDermott (OT) should all be 5*. Tons of OL and DL talent in the state.

Thanks sweet cheeks.

Minnesota has a 4* commit. I believe there are only like 5 of these, so we win recruiting.

Vic Wharton is a legacy and a 4* athlete already committed to the Vols. Could be either a corner or a slot receiver. Neiko Creamer is also a Vol legacy at WR that is pretty much committed. Should make it official at junior day next weekend.

It'll be interesting to follow Jalen Hurd's recruitment as well. A homegrown 5* runningback? Just what the Vols need right now.

Rutgers has Joshua Hicks from already committed and he looks to be a good one.

Unfortunately for us Jabril Peppers who will be a top 5 recruit is 95% leaving the state. I think he ends up at Stanford.

JRTPlaya21
02-03-2013, 02:59 PM
Bo knows. And that is why this generations version has already verbally committed to Alabama. Next up Marlon Humphrey at some point. Plus the Tide are also Da'Shawn Hand's top 5 as well.

Virginia QB Wilton Speight committed to Michigan. It sounds like Michigan is only taking one QB, so I'm a bit surprised Speight was offered this early with more highly rated guys interested.

Florida at number 2!! With another 6'6" QB look out Driskel.

Really hoping we can snag Drake Harris; however, I imagine that won't play out until this time next year though.

Damon Webb is a nice start.

Budda Baker is pretty much the cream of the Washington class. Likes U-Dub, but Mora's ties with Bellevue will be a huge factor too. Hopefully we can pull him here. Best S prospect since Taylor Mays but nothing like him.

Penn State has 1 commit so far and that's from Mark Allen, RB from DeMatha. O'Brien said he'll work like Danny Woodhead in his offense.

As of now, I can see the Lions landing two players in Sam Mustipher and Thaddeus Snodgrass. Those are the only two that I have seen Penn State being the favorites so far.

Also, Western PA is pretty solid this year with a lot of guys who I believe could be impact guys in college.

I followed recruiting very closely back in 2004 and especially 2005 but have kind of lost track of doing that. What would you guy suggest as the best method to following recruiting closely? Websites? Twitter?

Matthew Thomas wasn't considered a Cane lean until late in the process (and it's clear now he was lying about that). Sony has been rocking Canes gear for 4 years. Jabrill Peppers visited Penn State the other week and seemed to have really liked it. He said that they're in his top 5 and will visit again. I really didn't think PSU had any shot with him, but maybe now...?

You'll also have an Apple at CB by then.

Anyway Peppers isn't going to PSU. Don't get your hopes up on that.

On edit: I see someone already mentioned the Apple connection.

I'm not holding out hope he's going to Penn State, but this article is VERY interesting. And Peppers retweeted it himself.

I will never understand being commited to a school, then you decommit and they are not even in your final choices. There has to be a reason why you committed in the first place right??

He didn't blow up early on the recruiting trail since he was mulling basketball. Now that he's had time and opportunities to showcase his talent, the big programs are seeing what he brings to the table and the offers are pouring in. You can't blame him.

Moreover, if anything, I'd say it was a classy move for him to decomitt this early to give the MSU staff time to pursue other prospects - bailing at the last minute would have been a bit rude.

Yeah, big get for Michigan. They haven't really had that Braylon Edwards/Mario Manningham/David Terrell type elite #1 guy for a while at WR that they seem to always have when they had Lloyd Carr. I think Harris could be their next one of those.

Sounds like we should land Demarre Kitt from Georgia soon. He is big time as well, would look great playing split end with Jalin Marshall, James Clark, and Dontre Wilson at the other WR spots.

Jcn92

Really glad to see Michigan got Harris. Good they got a big WR for Hoke and Borge's prostyle offense. They got the o-line and the RB/QB they needed for that offense in this past years class, now they have the WR. Should be really fun to watch over the next four years. Derrick Green, Shane Morris, Jake Butt, and now Drake Harris.

On another note, Rivals recruiting analyst tweeted this morning that he now considers Jabrill Peppers (https://twitter.com/rivalsmike/status/323756135444262912) a heavy lean to Michigan and that Da'Shawn Hand (https://twitter.com/rivalsmike/status/323767600955924480) in his opinion has Michigan in second behind the Hokies. From a Rutgers standpoint he was apparently very tight with us. We usually get the top prospect out of Del. every year plus one of his really good friends, fellow WR Andre Patton is on the team now. Also, PSU said they would only take 2 WR's this year and they had 2 WR commits before Godwin. Hope he does well there.

Stanford was his OG leader though, so they'll probably be in it till the end.

Jcn92
04-29-2013, 06:15 PM
I'm just he's a heavy lean because the National Recruiting Analyst for Rivals considers he's a heavy lean (https://twitter.com/rivalsmike/status/323756135444262912) for Michigan and so does (https://twitter.com/Rivalsfriedman/status/328899910596456449) the Mid Atlantic Recruiting Analyst who covers Peppers' region and school closer than most. Peppers was really hot on Stanford this past fall and when he made his top 5. Based on these two reliable writers and the fact that he has been hot on Michigan this past month, saying his visit there exceeded his expectations which were already high and that it was his best visit, while he has been relatively quiet regarding Stanford recently is why I would call him a Michigan lead.

That's right Andrew...Come on down and join the show....C'mon...here we go...

Rivals100 defensive end Andrew Williams, one of the nation's top targets, says FSU's success has a strong affect about how he looks at the school.

"It shows all the doubters what FSU produces at the defensive end position. I wasn't really surprised since FSU has a lot of top defensive ends that have all the tools to make a big impact," he told Warchant.com. "It gives me a lot to think about with FSU. It gives me inspiration none the less as a player."

Oh you too Mr.Holmes?? Impressed huh? C'mon down....cmmoooon down..

One of Florida State's top overall targets, Jalyn Holmes (Norfolk, Va.), the No. 3 rated defensive end in the country, admits he was a FSU fan growing up and was blown away by how the 'Noles fared. He showed his surprise on Twitter following the draft, tweeting and retweeting FSU's success.

"I was a little shocked. I knew they got up to six, but didn't realize it was eleven. That was crazy just seeing all the defensive ends going from FSU, but it shows the job the staff did there at Florida State," he said. "I know if I went there, the coaches would have me ready for the NFL. I grew up a fan as a young kid, along with my Dad, but that did surprise they made more picks than anyone."

What a waste - he destroyed that All-Star game he competed in. Dude was a playmaker on both sides, but was already locked in to play safety for us which was a huge need like you said.
