staley i like at tackle. Woodley would be nice. Troy smith in the 4th is a good value if nothing else. Durant could be a good LB for the future, i really like that pick.Medloc would be really good if we could get him there, i like his leg

I don't think Staley will be there so here's my ideal one.

Trade down to early-mid round 2. Pick up a 4th this year or next, doesn't really matter. We'll go with this year. It's pretty much filled will a lot of my favorite players.

2 - Tank Tyler
2 - Josh Beekman
4 - Troy Smith
4(comp) - Baraka Atkins
4(comp) - Desmond Bishop
5 - Daren Stone
5(comp) - Mike Walker
6 - Mario Henderson
6(comp) - Chris Davis/Brian Smith

Rd1 Joe Staley (OT), Justin Blaylock (OL), Marcus McCauley (CB), Tedd Ginn
Rd2 Charles Johnson (DE/OLB), Quentin Moses (DE), Manuel Ramirez (OG)
Rd4 Justin Durant (LB), Quincy Black (LB)
Rd4 Steve Smith (WR), Chris Henry (RB)
Rd5 Chase Johnson (OL), Kenny Scott (CB), Dallas Sartz (LB)
Rd5 Isiah Stanbeck (QB), Stanley Doughty (DT)
Rd6 Dan Moses (C), Roderick Rogers (S)
Rd6 Victor Degrate (DE/LB), Jared Zabransky (QB), Drisan Jones (WR)

Rumors have it that Ginn's stock is dropping because he has yet to have run and has been slow in recovering from his injury. Staley is shooting up draft boards but still is a high potential / high bust prospect. We are basically dominating Day 2 with 6 picks and are history tells us that we will get someone of quality out of those 6 picks, I would love to see us pick up another 1st day pick in the 2nd or 3rd round.

Good mock, I'm just very skeptical about Staley being there in 1, and Johnson being there in 2.

Rd4 Steve Smith (WR), Chris Henry (RB)

I don't think we would draft a RB. We have four running backs on the roster.

Willis Mcgahee
Mike Anderson
Musa Smith
PJ Daniels

and from what I've heard Steve Smith will be long gone before the 4th round

I just updated mine:

1st round - Jon Beason | Linebacker | Miami (FL)

I'm really starting to like Beason and I think he would be a very nice pick for us at 29. He can play inside or outside, his game speed is outstanding, and he can hit. I would love to see how Rex Ryan would use him.

2nd round - Josh Wilson | Cornerback | Maryland

Well this seems like every Ravens fan's dream 2nd round pick. I know it's mine. If Josh is on the board there's no doubt we will at least look at him. He's crazy fast and he can be physical.

4th round - Troy Smith | Quarterback | Ohio State

Let me make it clear that I am not sold on Troy Smith as a good starting quarterback in the NFL. But there is no doubt that he has the abilities to be a great backup. If he's there in the late 4th, which I think he could be, you gotta take a look at him. He'd give us a good backup should Boller leave after this year. And who knows, maybe he develops into a nice starter.

4th round - Baraka Atkins | Defensive End | Miami (FL)

Atkins has outstanding athletic ability for a guy his size. He ran a 4.69 at 270 pounds. He's pretty versatile and would fit very well in our defense.

5th round - Tim Duckworth | Offensive Guard | Auburn

A guy with nice size and strength who would provide nice depth on the interior.

5th round - Marvin White | Safety | Texas Christian

Very physical player who can hit. He'd probably battle Jamaine Winborne for a backup safety spot.

6th round - David Ball | Wide Receiver | New Hampshire

Ball is exactly the type of player we need. Someone with nice speed who can come across the middle and has great hands. He could end up being a great 3rd or 4th guy

6th round - Le'Ron McClain | Fullback | Alabama

I've put Le'Ron is prior mocks and I'll probably continue to do it. He's a great lead blocker and would give Justin Green some good competition.

I love this mock. Although I'm a bit skeptical about Beason in the 3-4, I believe he can make the transition with some flexibility in Ryan's scheme. Josh Wilson is a great player who reminds me of a mix of Tye Hill, Darrent Williams and Dunta Robinson. The only thing that makes me not want to draft a CB is that I don't want to give up on the other guys so quickly. I like Troy Smith and love Baraka Atkins. Duckworth is one of my favorite later round guards in the draft, and I used to consider him to be a borderline Day 1 guy. White is a very solid pick as is Ball. McCain would be an unbelievable last pick.

I agree, and the thing about Beason is were is hegoing to start in a 3-4, we will have Ray and Bart in the middle then T-sizzle and JJ or Cody on the outside.

I don't think it really matters that we ran primarily a 3-4 last year, Rex Ryan would just find a way to utilize Beason's natural abilities and get him on the field.

I'll keep saying it, we don't have many glaring holes, and because of that, we can afford to pick a guy who won't start right away. We can spend a pick on a guy like Beason, who will provide depth and will be a great situational player.

About Tank Tyler I havent seen a lot of him, can he play NT or DE in a 3-4?

tank can play all over the place. i think he could be an effective nose tackle in the 3-4, but he wouldn't be asked to do just that.

but like the beason pick, tank wouldn't be a starter for us.

he would give us a boatload of options across the defensive line. like beason, he's not a need pick, but he would be an extra weapon, as rex ryan would be able to find alot of ways to utilize his talents.

we lost aubrayo franklin, who though he didn't play a ton, was a pretty big part of our rotation across the defensive line.

tank would do alot of things for us. he would be able rotate in for gregg, ngata, and pryce to keep them fresh.

and i believe kelly gregg's contract is up soon. if for some reason we are unable to resign him, we will have tank waiting to take over, with a couple years of expierience under his belt.

I love this mock but you haven't address Tackle at all which seems to be our biggest need. I would like to see us take Tony Ugoh or Aaron Sears in the second round or Chase Johnson in the later rounds, this guy is strong and has long arms and would be a nice pickup in the 4th or 5th round, and i doubt Joe Stayley will even be at our pick in the first. I Beason would be a nice addition to our defense but i dont want to address CB(like America said) until next year cause we have alot of young players that should be given a chance like Ronnie Prude, Derrick Martn, David Pittman and Corey Ivy. overall its a pretty good mock. Good job

I have heard similar things about Smith but he is a bit under sized and I think that might hurt him on draft day. The reason I say Henry is he is a project player. He could turn out to be a steal or he could be a bust...but with depth on the team he would be a perfect fit for us...plus Anderson is only signed for 1 more year...and I don't see us tendering him an extension of his current deal...and PJ has not shown me a lot of potential so adding someone like Henry that has all the physical tools in the world (Great timed speed, solid thick build , good running style) and he has not been used a ton in college so he doesnt have many miles on him coming into the league where RB's only avg 3 or 4 seasons on average.

I hate this mock for several reasons. First of all where's the addressing of the Offensive Tackle position, even if JO comes back we have no backup tackle on the roster so that has to be addressed in the draft. Secondly, while I like Jon Beason, he would be a wasted pick as our first round selection. He would not crack through the rotation that is set and we can't afford to let our 1st round pick sit on the bench for a whole season or just only maybe contribute on special teams. Everyone knows my feelings on Wilson and Smith so I won't go into that except to say I don't think Wilson will be available at our pick. And lastly, while I like McClain, we won't likely draft him since we are seemingly moving away from the smash mouth I formation of running since that isn't McGahee's style so there would be no use to get a fullback when we already have Justin Green.

I love that mock. Bowe is my favorite WR in the draft and is probably the best blocker when it comes to WR's,HB Blades is really underatted and he would be a great addition to our defense and a decent replacment to Ray Lewis but i doubt he is availible in the 4th round. Tony Ugoh would be a great compliment to Adam Terry. Ryan McBean has alot of potential and could learn alot playing with T-Sizzle Ngata, and Gregg. Justin Medlock has a heck of a leg but i dont want him kicking field goals for the ravens. I looked at Scott Wrights review on him and it said he had some character concerns and off-field problems. I would rather take a kicker next year.

Medlock's a kicker, so what if he's cocky and what not. Besides put him in this locker room and character concerns and off-field problems will go away. If you saw him this past season at UCLA or at any of the post-season competitions you would want Justin Medlock. He's a beast and hits from 50+ with ease.

Thats a very solid point...but playing in a Blue Collar town and a Team thats famous for its toughness will help that plus playing behind the greatest kicker in the history of the game will teach him a thing or 2. Plus I see the Ravens retaining Stover after he retires as a special teams assistant coach or at least keeping him in the front office...

That is very very very correct he is moving fast up the draft boards... most Teams have him very close to Levi Brown and since he has moved close to the TOP 10 on most draft boards...I see Staley moving into the Top 20 at least maybe higher...

I'm sorry to say ERU and all other diehard Joe Staley fans, it seems as if your praise of him was seen by other teams and now he's a highly coveted player. Honestly, I gave up hope getting him long ago, I don't see any chance that athletic and gifted of a left tackle, which are nearly impossible to find these days, will slip to our pick. At the very latest, I say he goes to Dallas or KC. And I wouldn't be surprised to see teams move up into the early teens to take him. By the way, check out Scott's blog for today, it has a SI site that shows film of a ton of players.

Or I'll just post the link here. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/nfl/specials/draft/2007/video/
