View Full Version : What if we traded with the Bills?

just hypathetically, the smokescreens by Gruden enticed them to trade with us and the offered a 2nd and 4th (or a third this year and 1st next year)

would you make the trade and if you did who would you target at 12? most of our likely candidates would be gone so that would reshape our enitre outlook

Ted Ginn @ 12? giving us a speed reciver in the slot and KR/PR

Adam Carriker? move him to UT?

Reggie Nelson? Gives us a S?

Jamaal Anderson? could fall that low

Pat Willis? (it would make Rudd expendable though)

thoughts?

I think Okoye could still be there at 12 if not i would want carriker

I wouldn't make the trade. We are in a dream situation at #4 and could go any number of ways with the pick. At #12 we don't have that luxury.

taking Patrick Willis would be stupid, i would take Okoye if he's still there, if not Reggie Nelson

Pat Willis could be the BPA, but then the questions would arise about what would we do with Rudd....

Agree with the Okoye part but trading all the way down to 12 is a little risky.

I'd be very happy if we traded down that far and still got Okoye or Carriker. One of them will most likely be there.

Some people still have him going to St. Louis so I wouldn't count it out, but I agree with you on not trading down that far. If all the Defensive lineman are gone anyone we could actually use would be a reach. I highly doubt Willis is going to be at 12 and Ginn just would be terrible. I still consider Nelson a reach, so maybe a corner?

Yuck.. A corner at 12 would be worse than Ginn/Brown/Willis

And then draft Lynch, what is the point?

Trade down with CJ gone pick up and extra 2nd gives us flexabilty to trade up to get 2 playmakers.
#12) Adam Carriker(Okoye gone) UT
#35) Anthnoy Spencer DE
#42) Brandon Meriweather S
#41) Ryan Kalil C
4 pro bowlers there
trade #64 and #68 for a high 2nd

That would be a pretty good draft but nobody can be considered a pro bowler until they make a pro bowl. They sure do have a ton of potential though.

In this scenario, according to the points chart the Bills would have to give us their 1st, 2nd and 3rd this year.

trades dont always happen according to a chart. Those are only guidelines to show value

Well that would be the only way anyone at One Buccaneer Place could justify that trade with the Bills.

that would be devastating if we traded to 12, and Okoye, Carriker, Adams, ect were all off the board. I think the Bucs would either take Reggie Nelson, Ted Ginn, or Jamal Anderson

-black

I would probrably see if the Pats wanted to move down to take Nelson (I have heard that liked him, this was awhile ago tho)

if they offered their 24 and 28th. It would be off value wise by 200 points so we could offer our 4th to them

then maybe

1a-Michael Griffen SS
1 b.-Brandon Merriweather FS
2 a.-Justin Harrell UT
2 b. Ryan Kalil C
2 c. Charles Johnson DE
3. Jason Hill or DE

hmmm......

I doubt a double trade down happens tho, its just wishful thinking

With safety being of little importance relative to other positions in the Cover 2 defense, it would be a waste.

-black
04-23-2007, 10:49 PM
consider 2 pro bowlers in our system a waste. Especially at 24 and 28. Doesnt make much of a differnce to me. Hypathetically if a trade like that happened, those 2 picks provide the best value at 2 weak spots. There arent any other picks that would match the value and need of the team.

-black
04-23-2007, 10:52 PM
the order could be switched also

1 a. Griffen
1 b. Harrell
2 a. Merriweather
2 b. Kalil
2 c. Johnson/Abiamiri/Moss/Spencer
3. WR or DE

**wonders if it were Weddle in the 1st would he mind the pick**

If it were Weddle and Griffin/Merriweather I would mind it, if just one I wouldn't. Just because I am a fan of Weddle does not mean that I want the Buccaneers to take to safeties in the 1st 3 picks at the expense of other positions of need on the team.

If hypothetically I had 24 and 28, I would look to target one safety Nelson/Griffin/Merriweather (Surprisingly not Weddle, happy to take him in the 2nd though:)) With the other pick I would probably look to go DE with Spencer/Moss, possibly even WR if it presents good value.

but why would you go DE with the 28 if you could get that exact same DE at 2 a, and possibly later?

which is why I think

1. Griffen
1 b. Harrell
2 a. Merriweather
2 b. Kalil
2 c. Best available DE from Moss to Johnson to Spencer to Crowder to Abiamiri
3. best available DE or WR

would present the best value, regardless of it being 2 safteys
