View Full Version : the wow what a crazy night mock

Arizona proposes 5th overall pick, Bryant Johnson to Detroit for 2nd overall pick.

1. Oakland Raiders - Calvin Johnson WR
RaiderNation has influenced me a lot on this pick. I think Calvin Johnson can help put the Raiders in the right direction, plus im guessing they pick in the top 10 again next year and can get Brian Brohm but anyway this is an 07 mock. Definetly the best player available he should be the #1 pick i would almost take him over reggie bush. Wait, he was supposed to be the #1 pick last year...

2. Arizona Cardinals f/Det - Joe Thomas OT
My boy from Wisconsin gets the call here. Thomas can be the missing piece to the offense (as well as some other lineman) but I think he will help out greatly. The Cards are set at all the skill positions on offense now they just need a wall up front.

3. Cleveland Browns - JaMarcus Russell QB
The fact that Phil Savage has known Russell for that long will factor in more than how badly Quinn wants to play for the Dawgs. With Russell, look for Kellen Winslow to have another great year and Braylon Edwards to have a possible breakout year.

4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Gaines Adams DE
I actually considered Okoye but gave this pick to Adams because he is the best d-lineman and #4 is slightly early for Okoye so yea. Adams reminds me alot of Julius Peppers and we'll see if defense can get the Buccaneers to another Super Bowl. Hey its the NFC, anything can happen.

5. Detroit Lions - Brady Quinn QB
I probably wouldve gave the Lions Quinn at 2 if Russell wasnt there. Anyway, Mike Martz style is very high octane, and the Lions are just a few small steps away from it right now. Quinn gives them a franchise player to go with Kevin Endzone Jones/Tatum Bell and Roy Williams on offense.

6. Washington Redskins - Amobi Okoye DT
No doubt the Skins need some front-7 help and the teenage would offer immediate help. A slight stretch but definatly a need for them.

7. Minnesota Vikings - LaRon Landry S
I almost put AD here but i decided Landry because Chester Taylor is a pretty solid running back and they should only go AD if they decide to go BPA. Landry would be an immediate starter at safety.

8.Atlanta Falcons - Alan Branch DT
With Landry gone, the birds could look to get bigger up front. Even though he is slipping a little, he could help beef up the D.

9. Miami Dolphins - Levi Brown OT
Could help the run and passing game by making lanes for Brown and keeping Culpepper or whoever on their feet.

10. Houston Texans - Adrian Peterson RB
Ahman Green is pretty old and AD is the top RB in the draft so it makes a lot of sense to draft him if they dont trade down to get a few more picks. I also like Leon Hall and Ted Ginn Jr. here.

11. San Francisco 49ers - Adam Carriker DE
The Niners in general are one of the better, younger teams and Carriker will help get heat on the passer and seems to be a nice pick IMO. I also like Ginn or Meachem or a wideout here.

12. Buffalo Bills - Marshawn Lynch RB
RB is a waay bigger hole to fill then LB. Lynch is a top prospect and the only first rounder left. This draft has good quality at linebackers so they can scoop someone up in R2.

13.St. Louis Rams - Patrick Willis MLB
Really all the Rams have to do is take the BPA on defense which here would be Willis. They wont get any quality lineman here except Anderson or Moss, but both could be reaches.

14. Carolina Panthers - Lawerence Timmons LB
The Panthers have a pretty shallow linebacker positition. Dan Morgan has been plagued with concussions and with Timmons they can at least feel a little safer if Morgan goes down.

15. Pittsburgh Steelers - Leon Hall CB
Mike Tomlin must hate people who make mock drafts because we dont know his defensive scheme yet. So to avoid all that Im going with Hall because he will play the same position regardless and is the top corner available. Almost a bit of a tossup between hall and Revis.

16. Green Bay Packer - Greg Olsen TE
I reaaallly like Revis here but with Favre coming back and liking his tight ends you gotta go with the top tight end. I think the Pack can stick with Woodson as CB/Returner.

17. Jacksonville Jaguars - Jamaal Anderson DE
With a pretty high caliber DE, the Jags could easily have THE top Dline in the country. I think if they can upgrade there front 7 they can land a DB later in the draft.

18. Cincinnati Bengals - Jon Beason OLB
The Bengals linebackers are bad LB situation to, so they can patch it up right here with Beason.

19. Tennessee Titans - Darrelle Revis CB
Revis will take out all the sting from the Pac Man drama. He will replace Jones as returner and defender, so the Titans can actually afford to get rid of him.

20. New York Giants - Joe Staley OT
An athletic tackle to have Eli's back will help out big time. I like Poz here to, but i think O-line needs to be addressed.

21. Denver Broncos - Reggie Nelson S
The safety/corner tweener is exactly what Denver needs. Lynch is getting older, and despite getting Dre' Bly they are still pretty thin in the secondary. Nelson will either compete with Bly for starting CB or stay at Safety to start opposite Lynch.

22. Dallas Cowboys - Jarvis Moss DE
If Denver passes up Moss, then the Cowboys should jump on him. Moss is a nice fit in the 34 defense. I like Meachem here to, but they are gonna put the big D back in Dallas.

23. Kansas City - Dwayne Bowe WR
I allmost had them going with the speed demon but Bowe would fit better since they already have Dante Hall.

24. New England Patriots - Paul Posluszny OLB
The linebackers are getting old, even AT is 30. So they can rejuvenate and get younger with this pick.

25 New York Jets - Chris Houston CB
They can use some secondary help and actually shouldve held on to ty law last year.

26. Philadelphia Eagles - Michael Griffin S
With the loss of Michael Lewis and B-Dawk getting older, Griffin is a pretty safe bet here.

27. New Orleans Saints - Ted Ginn Jr.
As if this offense wasnt already multidimensional, Junior will be able to stretch the field no matter what and would be a nice compliment to Colston.

28. New England Patriots - Brian Leonard FB
A nice bruiser fullback to help soften defenses for Maroney would really nice. The Pats have been aggressive this offseason, so theres very few weak spots to patch up in the draft.

29. Baltimore Ravens - Ben Grubbs G
Although they should bring in some youth at LB and replace Thomas, they also need to beef up the oline.

30. San Diego Chargers - Dwayne Jarrett WR
The thing this offense lacks is a young, true #1 option at WR. So with Jarrett they get a nice tall receiver to add.

31. Chicago Bears - Zach Miller TE
If Grossman is savable, its gonna take a reliable Tight End to dump off to. "Da Bears" will probs trade up usin Lance Briggs.

32. Indianapolis Colts - Tank Tyler DT
The Colts will look to plug up the middle and stuff the run with this pick, and Tank Tyler could prove to be pretty luxurious picking at 32.

leave some.

Winslow can already back-up Dinkins....

Anyways, I actually had a nightmare that we drafted Russell... no kidding, I really dont want the guy.

04-14-2007, 12:40 PM
Nice Packers pick, not a big fan of the Ginn to the Saints pick though.

04-14-2007, 01:20 PM
Titans would take chris houston i believe. PacMan will be back in a year and then he takes the PR job from revis, so a guy whos main job is coverage would be the better pick. But CB is a good position.

04-14-2007, 02:37 PM
chris houston to the giants over staley

04-14-2007, 04:18 PM
how many people do i have to tell miller is not a first rounder?

hate the saints selection with a passion.

we have our speedsters in henderson and bush , we need at least a WR with good hands. but before that i want them to address the D#

04-15-2007, 10:40 AM
Good Eagles pick, Safety is our biggest need by far and Griffin fills that need.
