The system is fine. There aren't THAT many posts out there that deserve positive rep. I give out rep only to very funny or very insightful posts. If you stick with that, you won't have a problem. Dead issue.

Because adding these additional reps promotes the unnecessary use of +/- rep just because you have the power to do so. I personally try to judiciously use my rep to make sure that people who post well are recognized. If the mods added another 1-2 reps per 24 hours, people would use that, and the whole idea of the rep system could be compromised. It is in place for quality posters to be recognized for their efforts. By limiting it, it forces people to only use their rep options on what is really great. Adding a little more hurts the actual meaning of +/- rep.

A textbook example of a quality post that deserves positive rep. Well put and thought out, let this be a shining example to those that yearn for the elusive positive rep.

It's true essentially what you say, although I'm not convinced rep is used wholly in the right way anyway. I guess it would be better to keep it like this though than it would to have more rep to give away, as that would only likely accentuate the problem.

There is no need to edit your post. You can propose changes and start a petition. People are allowed to disagree. It is not a problem. People suggested switching to this server and format in the first place. Without suggestions, we have little chance of improving anyway.

If that is true why is the fuel economy of cars still proportional to that of 1970's era standards? Money fuels our nation just as it does players decisions in free agency.

I'd like to think I earned all of my rep, but some of the +rep I've gotten hasn't been earned. Once I hit a certain rep "status", I found that people with less rep were giving me +rep trying to fish for positive feedback from me.

Yes I have seen his stand-up and I am a fan of his as well as other political comedians. I wasn't actually going for the political angle on my comparison, I was merely stating some well known facts. I hate that everyone is so quick to lock threads based on statements about politics, I mean certain subjects have political ramifications and the conversation naturally flows to them. I mean what about front office politics when it comes to drafting and signing free agents? Will I get an infraction for stating that based on recent politics of the Vikings it is likely that they will have problems with getting their pick on time? Ok I think now that I got that out of my system I actually feel a tad bit of relief.

Yeah because it makes sense for a single person to have one of these:
http://www.hummerforums.com/models/h2/images/2006-Hummer-H2.jpg
If people actually bought sensible cars that were more environmentally friendly and better on gas mileage the US could be once again a trend setter and dominant force in the auto market. Of course that would mean people would have to be more rational as opposed to this ego-driven hysteria that many buy into.

Was that from the Bring The Pain routine? I get confused which one certain parts are in. Either way my favourite bit is the "Black People vs N*****" bit. I'm not a racist, but that kind of observational humour gets me all the time, Richard Pryor was the man.

I am a big advocate for making the rep 10 per 24 hours. There are a lot of people that deserve to have a much higher rep but won't get it. I always see 1 post or so in the team forum which I want to +rep because it's good and I like to encourage people to use the team forum. Then in the NFL forum there are 2-3 good posts per day, and 3-4 good posts per day in the off-topic. That's about 8, only including good posts. There are many crap posts that I don't -rep because I simply don't have enough *good* rep to give out... and I think that's a flaw in the system.

i think were on the same page here;
If you really want more reps allowed; whats the point? Save your reps for a meaningful post.
If you want more reps just for the sake that you might get more reps per day, you obviously aren't looking at the grand scheme of things. For those of you striving to get that 2nd, 3rd bar, hell (cough *GRF* cough) even get back to neutral bar, consider that when the # of reps go up, everyone will have 2 bars, and it won't seem that great, and then people will request for a rep change again.

I think this ridiculous with the exception of the users who have 10 green rep bars. If you don't have 10 rep bars, you have no need to complain. Chances are you never get to 10 anyways. So I don't see why you're complainging. I'd like to hear why.

I'm making my opinion heard because I think there are better things to do than sit on your ass all day and give rep to people you don't even know. If all you people have all ready given up on your lives (and I'm sure there's many of you who have) then that's cool too. Just sit on your ass and argue with people who really have no say in anything.

I see you wisely abandoned your original "I don't care what anyone says!" argument. At least you don't cling to a sinking ship.
Anyways, take an English course, learn how to type coherently, and then we can continue whatever argument you are trying to take up now.
