great Idea Nerv I would love that. But would Wandy wanna fight Shogun? I remember he didnt because they are both Chute boxing.
I dont know, they beat each other up everyday so whats the difference if its in the cage and for a title shot haha.

true I wonder who wins those matches it would be a great one to see.
Ive watched some of their full contact sparring videos on youtube & it seemed Shogun was getting the better of Wandy in what I saw.
Shogun seems more technical on the ground. I'd take him over Wandy head to head.

They aren't allowed to do it in America from what I've heard, something to do with not having enough time to rest between fights, although maybe Ireland, England, Brazil, Russia or Japan would like to have it.
Is anybody going to watch TUF w/ Hughes and Serra?
I probably won't watch them when they are 1st released but once spike had a marathon or something I'll probably watch most of em, BTW I got Serra over Hughes in that fight

Def, I love the Ultimate Fighter Reality Show. I hear this year is supposed to be crazy inside the house. Remember Wednesdays this year.
Ya TUF is always entertaining even if Im not huge fans of the coaches, I dont mind Serra but he was just on the show & people say he acts like a douche since he won the title haha. Ill set it to be recorded on the dvr so ill see all of the episodes.
Ya the UFC definitely wont run any type of GP Im sure but it would be fun to see. I believe EliteFC is on the 15th, here is the card its having.
Murilo Rua vs. Robbie Lawler
Renato Verissimo vs. Jake Shields
Kala Kolohe Hose vs. Jeff Fox
Mark Kurano vs. Jose Diaz
Gina Carano vs. Tonya Evinger
Nick Diaz vs. Mike Aina
Joey Villasenor vs. Riki Fukuda
Mark Oshiro vs. Nui Wheeler
Chad Klingensmith vs. Brandon Wolfe

Any word on when Gamburyn, Diaz, Lauzon, Emerson, Hill, Maynard, are fighting?
UFC FIGHT NIGHT 11: SEPTEMBER 19, 2007 ON SPIKE TV
venue: Palms Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada
Main Card Bouts:
-Din Thomas vs. Kenny Florian
-Chris Leben vs. Terry Martin
-Nate Diaz vs. Junior Assuncao
-Nate Quarry vs. Pete Sell
Preliminary Bouts:
-Kuniyoshi Hironaka vs. Thiago Alves
-Jonathan Goulet vs. Dustin Hazelett
-Leonard Garcia vs. Cole Miller
-Luke Cummo vs. Edilberto "Crocota" de Oliveira
-Gray Maynard vs. Joe Veres
This is the next fight night card, some of the guys you mentioned will be on there. Looking forward to this card a lot, Martin vs leben will be a slugfest (Martin by decapitation) Quarry vs Sell is a solid match up and Din Thomas vs KenFlo has title implications so look for that to be a hard faught match. I also love the Leonard Garcia vs Cole Miller match up, Garcia has some of the most heart in the UFC imo.
Also Joe Lauzon will be fighting on the same card as BJ penn Nov 17th.

Haha, just noticed the Question of the decade in your sig, it is one I cannot answer....
Anyway I liked Cole Miller on the show, I think he has a lot of potential, so it should be fun to see him mix it up with Garcia...

Big show coming up tommorow with alot of great fights, my boy Nick Diaz getting back in the cage cant wait. Hes easily one of my top 5 if not top 3 fighters in MMA. I am also looking forward to seeing Charuto vs Jake Shields, Should be a great fight if Charuto comes in shape. Robby Lawler fights are never short on excitement either. Lawler vs Ninja should be a stand up war.

I wonder who will win Sylvia or Vera when they go at it.
I finally watched the Elite XC card, lots of pretty good fights. Man Diaz won an EXTREMELY close decision, fight could have gone either way really. Robbie Lawler continues to look impressive everytime he comes out as well.
And personally Im sick of seeing so many fighters come out to rap, ugh, I agree with Sarf that we need some more heavy metal entrances.
I would probably come out to a song called Silence Calls the Storm by Canadian metalists Quo Vadis (http://youtube.com/watch?v=W5ciJcksiEU) or what I use to come out to for backyard wrestling/grappling.. Battering Ram by Zakk Wylde (http://youtube.com/watch?v=F411kF2Xy7U)

Nick Diaz was throwing crazy combos but they were glorified love taps. All he had to do was C O C K (unnecessary censor) back on a couple of those shots and he could of perhaps put him down. He was hitting every punch with percision. Diaz is one of my favorites but I think he took Aina lightly and it showed.

Serras boy the one who fought last night sucks. I think his name was Joey.
He doesnt suck just lacked the heart. I can kind of understand where hes coming from. Mac Danzig has already made a name for himself in MMA and he has to be the favorite to win this. Joe most likely came in thinking he was going to fight other no names like him but that wasnt the case. He was scared to go against Mac and wasnt expecting it and it was obvious. This was a classic example of a well rounded MMA fighter vs a one dimensional MMA fighter. Fights like that will go the same way this one went 90% of the time.

Lidell's gonna kill Jardine. He's goin to rebound after Rampage and I pity the fool who stands in his way....

I saw a pic of Liddell training and he had a 6 pack. That tells me that he trained very hard for this fight and harder then his Rampage fight.
I think Shogun does have the potential to kill Forrest but Forrest does have more octagon expierence plus he does have some heart.
I dont see Shogun really standing with or KO'ing Forrest. He is going to clinch up quickly and look to take it to the ground, pepper Forrest with some shots until he gives up a sub then lock it on. Shogun via sub in the 2nd.

Forrest is a bigger than average LHW so if he can impose his will on Shogun early, it could cause Shogun to abandon his stand up for his submissions. I have been unimpressed with Shogun his last few fights and Id love to see the killer I saw a few years ago come back. Shogun via Split decision
-Chuck Liddell vs. Keith Jardine- Chucks not worried about Keith which is what worries me. Hes got his mind on Wandy and could end up getting upset. Ill still take chuck via KO
-Diego Sanchez vs. Jon Fitch - I originally predicted Fitch but he came into the weighs dehydrated after having to cut weight. So I say Diego via Decision
-Kazuhiro Nakamura vs. Lyoto Machida - Machida via Unanimous Decision (if he loses look for a move to MW)
-Tyson Griffin vs. Thiago Tavares - Thiago Tavares via sub

I always have a bunch of friends over at my house and we just drink (juice ofcourse)and watch the fights.
I actually bought boxing gloves so we can fight after the card too. I'm always so hyped after watching a UFC card.
That is a good idea, I am trying to get it some time then have people show up and we split the price.
I love doing MMA w/ boxing gloves it is so fun. I am best at rear naked chokes and armbars from guard bottom, but I also love to Ground and pound that is fun.

my friend is a huge shogun fan and he thinks that shogun might lose. He's been reading up and apparantly shogun hasn't trained in the octagon and he didn't watch any videos on forrest griffin. Of course, it can be the polar opposite and shogun comes out flying, but i agree, i think this will be a closer than expected fight.

yea I have said Shogun wont walk through him like most think. I think Shogun wins but I dont think he kills him like some say. If it was in a ring then no question Shogun literally kills Forrest, but I say it at least goes to round 3.
my prediction is Shogun with a KO or submission with 1:47 left in the 3rd.

I am just shocked maybe Rampage was right that Shogun did juice because I thought no matter what the fight area was Shogun had enough natural talent to win against Forrest.

So what is next for Shogun and Chuck?

How about
Rua VS. Liddell
Jardine VS. Wanderlie (winner faces Rampage)
Also who was winning the Rua Griffin fight before the tap out, mmaweekly had it 20-18 Rua and sherdog had it 29-18 Griffin.
My new LHW rankings
1. Rampage
2. Henderson
3. Wanderlie
4. Sokojuo
5. Rua
6. Liddell
7. Griffin
8. Jardine
9. Nog
10. Arona
After the top 4 you could make a case for anybody anywere, I do think Arona and Nog should be higher I just didn't know were to put them I made this real quick so I will try to revise it later.
Liddell won't lose 2 in a row. But then again I said the same thing about Cro Cop.
Shogun will end it very quickly.
Am I good or what??? :)
Forrest was most definitely going to win the fight if it went to the judges. He clearly won rounds 2 & 3 after probably losing the first.
Shogun gassing halfway through the 2nd round was a serious letdown, how did he make so many 10 minute rounds in Pride? He went straight for the takedowns like I thought (Shogun's striking just hasnt been any good at all since the broken arm) but Forrest's guard was better than Shoguns top game -- that shocked me.
And I have to say it... **** YOU CHUCK & JARDINE!!! Really I dont have much of a preference but us MMA nuts have been waiting half a decade to see freaking Liddell vs Silva and once again it gets screwed up.

Also if Dana is still in love with Chuck I could see him sending Chuck a couple of grapplers that cant take him down so Chuck can get some momentum and then have Liddell VS. Rampage 3.

Couple thoughts from the PPV.
- Shogun looked horrible, terrible conditioning, finally the hype is over, finally.
- Liddel's career may be over, he faced a pure striker and did not once attempt to go ground. Granted he himself is a striker but he had a much better chance on the ground.
- Griffen may get a shot at Rampage, there is no clear cut #1 contender and he is a fan favorite. For those of you who are gonna say Silva he has to fght at least once in the UFC first, Dana wouldnt put him in a main event seeing how poorley other Pride fighters have done thus far.
- Jon Finch is a contender man, 2 staright losses for the man who said he wanted to go undefeated in his career, baby steps Diego.
I would love to see Jon Fitch vs. GSP to see who fights the winner of Hughes and Serra.

Not according to what all the MMA sites are saying. All indications say his next fight is versus Serra or Huges.
I think LHW is a bit clogged now. I do not think Alexander deserves a title shot yet, I think Wandy needs a fight or two first. Griffin makes sense he did just decisively beat Shogun. Jardine I think needs another fight. Machida IMO deserves a shot soon as well. There should be a mini LHW tourney to see who fights page. Theres atleast 4-5 guys deserving of a shot. I say put Silva vs Alexander and hope Wandy wins to set up a Page vs Silva rematch (would be the most profitable fight) I think Forrest will get the first shot, everyone loves him.

Randy will stay champion, technically you only have to defend your title 1 time a year to keep it. He will be out a little while but definitely not an entire year, I think the time frame of the upcoming Vera/Sylvia bout which is next month then at least 2 month layoff before the winner would face Big Nog and another 2 months till that winner would face Randy. He will be healthy by then.

They still arent going to give any recent signee a title shot as their first fight, even Fedor. Cro Cop had more hype surrounding him when he entered the UFC than Fedor currently has and they gave him 2 fights before a shot at the title.

Well he kind of already had a title, but still Dana already said once Fedor signs = automatic shot at the title. Randy vs Fedor would be a dream match. Modern day David vs Terminator (YOU THOUGHT ID SAY GOLIATH) Joe Rogen was on Sirius radio talking about how the Russians are ******* crazy and they go "if you want fedor you have to sign sergei kharitonov, sergei good fighter, if you want fedor you have to sign whole red devil team, they good fighters." Fedor knows hes the best, Fedor's people know that he is the best, so they are not going to settle for nothing less than exactly what they want. Crazy Russians = smart business men.
Well, like I've said before, I don't understand why they wouldn't want to sign Sergei Kharitonov and Aleksander Emelianenko.
Both of those guys are 26 years-old and VERY exciting fighters.
Both of them love to brawl also.
Neither of them are as good as Fedor, but they can challenge pretty much anyone else out there.
Some of you may not know this, but Kharitonov fought Big Nog and gave him a VERY tough fight, damn near beat him.

They brought Gono for the ENTRANCES baby! But this card sucks, is Ortiz Evans seriously a main event?
Also, I think this is a diss to Karo, the man deserves a title shot more than anyone else at 170 imo. He always puts on an exciting fight, he beats everyone they put in front of him, & his title shot against Hughes he had to pull out because of an injury. He did lose to Diego a year ago but has been far more impressive than Diego since then.

Yeah Karo has fell victim to the whole wait a year to build up anticipation for the Serra vs Hughes match. This match has been so drawn out with TUF and everything else that all WW's have to take a back seat. Add on to that the fact that GSP is next in line for the title shot. Karo has no choice but to take one fight inbetween. I think Karo is next in line after GSP seeing as how he should have gotten a shot way back when but he got injured. Jon Fitch is going to be waiting a long time for his shot at the title as well. But Karo shouldnt look past Hector for now, the dudes a beast and he has the chance to upset Karo.

Thats not a good card at all. Im a big Ortiz fan but am not really looking forward to his fight against Evans. 1- because I think DEvans is overated and 2- because I dont see that fight as a main event. perhaps this is Dana giving Tito the main event to settle their feud.
I am sure thats not the complete card, usually theres 4 main card fights and around 4 under card fights. So there is atleast 2 fights missing from the card. Id expect to see Hamill vs Bisping on this card as well, they can run with the whole "settle the score" gimmick by having Bisping vs Hamill 2 and Evans vs Tito 2. I hate Tito, hopefully when he loses this fight he will take his boring style and retire.

Right now it gets tricky...
4. Soko- His 2 brutal 1 punch KO put him here, I think he has potential to be #1 within 2 years he is only 22.
5. Houston Alexander- His 2 brutal 1st round KOs one against Jardine give him the #1 UFC title contender spot IMO.
6. Jardine- Beating Liddell gets him here, his vicious win over Forrest puts him a head of Forrest.
7. Forrest- Would be higher but had a average career besides the win over Shogun.
8. Shogun- Is here due to vicious KOs in Pride.
9. Liddell- Was previously #3 but slide due to back to back losses maybe father time caught up to him.
10. Arona- A good grappler who hung with Silva well.
11. Lil Nog- Being in a small league will hurt him but did good against Dan Henderson and is a good fighter.
Houston Alexander is not top 5 yet, hes only beat one formidable opponent in Jardine. Thats not deservent of the top 5 let alone top 10. There are more deserving fighters to be in the top 10 (Lyoto Machida, Rashad Evans, etc) To be honest dont be surprised if the winner of Evans Vs Tito gets the next title shot. That was the rumor before the first fight that ended in a draw.

Houston is definitely more deserving than Jardine or Griffin(plus he won't be able to fight for a long time due to the nasty cut he got from Shogun)
Wandy vs Alexander and then winner gets Rampage
Jardine vs Henderson, just because i hate Jardine and he needs to lose
Shogun vs Liddell, it could be a 2nd or 3rd fight on a card but would still be crazy and it would put one(if not both) back into contention for a title shot

What makes Alexander more deserving than Griffin? Who has he beat? Keith Jardine, so what. Who else? Alessio Sakara, again so what? There are atleast 5 guys more deserving to get a title shot than Houston Alexander. He has been impressive but not title shot impressive, atleast not yet.
Reports that I have read say Griffin vs Wandy will be Wandy's first fight. But it probably wont happen this year due to the gash on his forehead. So Wandy's debut may be postponed until 08. I think this is teh best matchup to see who the number one contender is, because its the most marketable. Griffin takes on a Chute box fighter and dismantles him so they can use the whole "wandy avenging Shoguns lost angle" Than if Griffin beats Wandy he can have the cool "Chute Box Killer" nickname.
Also it is rumored Big Nog's next fight will be against Cheik Kongo.

looks like Fedor will be signed in a couple of months after his Sambo tournament.

I hope Rashad and Tito somehow simultaneously knock each other out and both lose. Or maybe they'll fall asleep while laying on top of each other and be disqualified for inaction. Seeing as how their first fight is in the running for most boring fight of the year, I don't think the rematch has the strength to headline a PPV card. A Wanderlei-Cro Cop staring match would be more exciting. The contrived hype leading up to this one is gonna make me puke, I know it.
I hope so. Dana didn't guarantee it, but he said that he's "convinced".
We'll see.

I left Griffin out of it because he won't be ready to fight for basically the rest of this year because of that nasty cut
Henderson is the most deserving of another title shot, but of course they won't give him back to back matches with Rampage, the rest of the division is in chaos right now with no clear cut #1 contender

My guess is Jardine or Alexander for Rampage.
Then if Silva wins against Forrest he gets a title shot assuming Rampage beats Jardine or Alexander.

well the way it seems set up now it will be Forrest vs Wandy winner fighting Rampage. If thats how it works out Rampage wont have a fight until he faces the winner of that. Which will probably be in the spring/early summer time. But long pauses like that between fights isnt uncommon, look how long it will take Serra to defend his title. I think it will work best this way, that way they can use the long time to distinguish who the best of the rest are in the LHW division by mix and matching the other group of guys ( Shogun, Chuck, Jardine, Alexander, Machida, Evans, Ortiz etc) If Rampage does happen to have a fight inbetween now and the winner of Forrest vs Wandy i think it will be the winner of Evans vs Ortiz.

It will be interesting if Tito comes back since I believe this is the last fight on his contract. I remember reading he doesnt like Dana and all.

I hope he doesn't pull a Cro Cop or I guess a Shogun too now, but I think Fedor is too strong for that.
Also I am making my prediction now, Alexanders next fight will be against Jason Lambert.
The hottest MMA rumor right now is Ken Florian vs Takanori Gomi at the TUF finale also Roger Huerta vs Clay Guida.

I would love to see a re-match of Gomi VS. Diaz at TUF finale. But isnt Diaz suspended?

Frank Trigg said on his radio show that the main event for UFC 78 is Tito VS. Dan Henderson instead of Tito VS. Evans. I hope Dan wrecks Tito.
Same here, I don't like Tito at all.
Yeah I cant stand Tito, he fights boring fights, Id love to see him get owned by Hendo. I wonder why the Evans Ortiz fight is off now.
Sounds like Evans could have gotten hurt. Tito trying to wrestle & GnP an olympic level wrestler... ruh roh.
And Diaz's 6 month suspension is up but he isnt in the UFC & doesnt he currently have a contract with Elite XC, seems odd they would sign him for just that 1 fight. Gomi to the UFC would be nice but they always said it would be very difficult for Gomi to make 155 to fight at LW in the States. Remember the Pride LW division was like 163lbs and they say he had trouble making that sometimes.

Thoughts on TUF 6 anyone? Man Joey annoys me, and Matt Hughes for that matter... not a fan of the whole bible thing.
If there is a single Matt Hughes fan left after this season i will be shocked! OK well some people will probably always like the guy for whatever reason, but the more I see of him the less & less I like him.
Also, isnt it funny how all of these guys are welterweights but both Serra & Hughes look about 20 lb's heavier than all of them.

it is probably because they may have to fight any given week so they naturally keep their weight down, but Hughes and Serra arent training so I could see them at 185+ for their walking weight.

Ya, Joey is ungrateful for the oppurtunity. The other guys are being way too nice to him bc I would be pissed at him.

That is true but the difference in size really is quite enormous. Serra was a 155 fighter most of his career too, now he looks big as hell compared to 170'ers. But Hughes also lookes like he weighs around 200lbs, he must cut a TON of weight to fight at WW.
