Alright the people have spoken we will leave it at 14, sorry for everyone who couldn't get in but closer to the season I will probably have another one which will be an online draft, and there are other fantasy bball leagues looking for people here.

As for our league it will be 10 rounds and done in this thread, I am planning on doing draft order by post count, but if anyone has a better suggestion please say so.

10 rounds? We should have at least have a bench, so we should go about 13 or so.

10 rounds is too short, we wont have any bench. You should also find some random way to do draft order.

For draft order post a number from 1-1000 draft order determined by how close you are to the number and it's like price is right style. Say the number were 100 if you said 5 you are closer than someone who said 101. I will take myself out of this and give myself the middle pick #7 of 14 overall.

I don't care for the FG% and FT% stats. What are ya'lls opinions?

I think it's wacky as someone with 1 Free Throw could shoot 100% and someone who shoots 30 Free Throws shoot 70%, but the guy who shoots 70% gets penalized more. I say toss it out along with the FG%.

SeanTaylorRIP
09-26-2006, 05:02 PM
I'm almost certain that there is a minimum on free throw percentage and I think we should keep field goal percentage because he penalizes guys like LeBron and Kobe who have good numbers but jack it up 50 times a game.

Brodeur
09-26-2006, 05:14 PM
Of course you keep both, they are necessities in fantasy basketball. Although Rebounds should only count as one category and 3PT percentage should also count. Just my opinion.

Find out what it is. I can live with the FG% one, but a stat like this is just lucky luck. Takes the skill out of managing your team and turns it into luck. Just my 2 cents.

Sounds good
Except that leaves us with 10 categories. When playoffs come and there is a tie 5 to 5, they just randomly pick who wins. I don't know how either. It doesn't go by the person with a better regular season record... this has happened in a league I was in in the past... so that's why I'm concerned. I was the commish at the time, and the guy who didn't win, to this day thinks I messed with the outcome. It's just a better idea to have an odd number of categories to try to avoid this. Of course ties could still happen, but it lessens the odds.

Yahoo Rules:
If at the end of the season, two or more players in a Head-to-Head League finish tied in the standings, the following system is used to break the tie:

Overall winning percentage.
Highest winning percentage in Week 21.
Highest winning percentage in Week 20.
Highest winning percentage in Week 19.
Highest winning percentage in Week 18.
Highest winning percentage in Week 17.
Highest winning percentage in Week 16.

Highest winning percentage in Week 5.
Highest winning percentage in Week 4.
Highest winning percentage in Week 3.
Highest winning percentage in Week 2.
Highest winning percentage in Week 1.
Random "coin flip."

In the event that a playoff game ends in a tie, the deadlock is broken using the following system:

Most team points scored.
Most team rebounds.
Highest team field goal percentage.
Highest team free throw percentage.
Fewest team turnovers.
Most team 3-point shots made.
Most team assists.
Most team steals.
Most team blocked shots.
Random "coin flip."

I see as no way it ever gets to the "coin flip".

Ok, i will go with Chris Bosh. Wanted Brand, but they are very close, and I think Bosh may have a break out year (in terms of being MVP quality). He also gets some points for being PF and C eligible.

I was thinking about Bosh, he is an all-star on a horrible team should be a beast, as long as he doesn't hang around the perimeter too much, then he's just like Lamar Odom.

I take...

http://membres.lycos.fr/overnight/nba/amare_stoudemire.jpg

Amare Stoudemire - The first surprise of the draft, but the only thing that is holding him from being a top pick is health...and im willing to take that risk.

the only thing is that his fg% is not ideal for a PF/C because he shoots j's. that is the only reason i prefered brand

How about we start turning in lists? They don't have to be long, but if your turn is coming up, send in a list of 2 or 3 players. PLEASE! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!!

Alright here is the deal this will make it faster, everyday I will choose 1 hour a day in which there is a 5 min, time limit for each pick, go on aim at 5:00pm today and everyone IM me your picks it will go by faster, if you are not here at that time then we will choose for you going by the yahoo list. That means we will get atleast 12 picks done in an hour, after that hour there is no time limit and you can just pick as you go, the time today is 5:00pm eastern but it could be different tommorow. Everyone cool with this?
