Okoye doesn't fit the defence. He's strictly a 4-3 player.

Miami has no talent at offensive tackle.

I think if Willis is there, the 49ers have to take him.

I know we dont and we need a left tackle, alot of reports out there from miami stating they dont like Brown though as a left tackle.

Okoye can fit in the 3-4 as a DE and we play a hybrid 70/30 split where he would be a 3 technique the other part of the time.

Mueller has stated at the 9th pick he will take BPA over need.

Just tossing it out there to consider, I have no problem wit hthe brown pick personally. I hope we take 3 offensive linemen in our first 4 picks honestly.

But, if wouldnt right to not toss out there for you to consider. Hope helps either way.

Decent Eagles pick considering no safeties are available. David Harris is a possibility as well. I actually think they would go LB before CB, but then again the Eagles love their CB's.

THomas over Gaines for the BUcs

They just signed Petigout to a deal. I don't see them picking up Thomas. They need a top-flight passrusher to make their defence work.

Also, it should be noted that there's a good chance the Lions and Buccaneers swap picks.

Okoye is a penetrator. He fits in the mold of a guy like Warren Sapp. I don't think any teams are looking at him in the 3-4 as an end.

Exactly.... he does not fit the 3-4 at all.... period. If he was to put on like 20+ pounds or so then maybe. But until he does that, he is a 4-3 DT.

I like the Sapp comparison, I think Okoye could be one of the more dominant 4-3 DT's in the league. He is just not a great fit for us so I would not touch him with the number 9 pick. That is one of the only picks that would infuriate me on draft day.

Interesting to see the RedSkins take Anderson over Okoye... I like the Vikings pick.

I'm one of the few eagles fans that would actually like that pick.

switch the rams and houston picks, i think hall is better for them with demeco ryan helping thier front 7, and we need a dt more than cb

I think that the Saints would go with Harrell or Olsen in the 1st not PP

Finsfan just because Mueller says he is taking BPA doesn't mean he will take a guy at a position of minimum need and a guy the doesn't fit the system. Okoye's grade isn't much higher if at all than the guys around him.

29. Baltimore Ravens :: Marcus McCauley - Cornerback - Senior - Fresno St.

This is a reach, so I don't really see it happening. But I feel it's an ok pick, because McCauley fits our defense perfectly. But again, I don't think you can say he's BPA at this point. If we traded back into the 35-40 range and then nabbed him, I think it would be great.

Jon Beason would be the ideal pick at 29. He's the BPA and he fits with us very nicely. It's hard to see us going for McCauley over him. By the way, how is Beason not in your first round?

Beason isn't in the 1st because the few teams that would be interested in him opted to grab another position.

You know I have been arguing for brown/staley for our pick for ages, just alot hearing on the radio and elsewhere and reading everything keeps talking of how high on Okoye we seem to be. I still do think he could play a run stuffer pretty damn well as a DE. Or a penetrator when we are in the 4-3. I dont think he is a "system" limited player. Bow/ginnfanboy :) He does have the weight to be a 3-4 DE easily btw.

As you both know though my hope is we trade back and go oline for tackle, guard and center/guard. Who knows what is smoke or mirrors at this point but I think that Okoye would be considered from everything spoken lately.

But, you are right that the draft values of the two are pretty close (we assume) then brown is definitely the bigger need.

If the Rams go cornerback, it'll be Darrelle Revis over Leon Hall. I think Branch would get more consideration than Hall at that point as well.
