One is a HOF and the other has a lot of potential but hasn't proven anything yet.
You can't compare the two right now...

Randy Moss is not a Hall of Famer. He is not in the Hall of Fame. He has to do a few things before he is even considered for the Hall of Fame.

Right now? A motivated Moss. Two years down the line, I don't think this is even a question.

Is this a joke? Moss is a Hall of Famer and Calvin Johnson has never played a snap.

Unless CJ scores i think 18 TD's this year he will be better than moss. But if its under 17 then nope. I cant wait too see him and Griffin or Winfield Match up.

Moss. Moss. Moss. Moss. Moss.

IF he's motivated. And it appears he is.

He seemed motivated when he came to Oakland too....

Agreed. A small part of me wants him to do below average just so his nut huggers can fall off.

They could have close #'s. Detroit is too much of a pass happy offense for CJ not to have big #'s.

Moss is the most talented WR to ever play the game. He may not put up the best stats this year, but he really is the most talented.

Better WR right now? Randy Moss

Better WR comming out of college? uhhh I still would take Moss.

I also heard Randy ran three 40 times in the 4.2 range anyone know if this is true?

Thats what Patriots people say. They recently timed him at a 4.29...

The better question would be, who was the better prospect? Calvin might stand a chance there.

Calvin Johnson was the much better prospect. He has Moss' speed and jumping ability. Except he blows Moss out of the water, when it comes to physicality. As well as character.

People forget that Moss had some real concerns outside of his character as a prospect. People didn't believe he was strong enough or used his hands well enough to beat the bump and didn't work well across the middle, making him one dimensional.

Of course, it turned out his one dimension was good enough to keep corners dropped way back, and he had such good deep ball instincts that practically no one could contain him for very long.

If we're talking who was the better prospect, it's Calvin Johnson by a large margin. It's all well and good to say you'd take Moss over him, but anyone who actually followed that draft would tell you there's no comparison in terms of prospect rating.

As for right now, despite Moss' ridiculously crappy play towards the end of last year, I think he can still beat almost every NFL corner if motivated. Obviously, he wasn't going to be motivated in Oakland, but he might add a whole new deep ball aspect to that Patriots offense. If he's lost a step, then it's only to move from the most dangerous to one of the most dangerous.

Calvin Johnson is going to have to adjust to the pro game, adjust to Martz's offense, adjust to Jon Kitna, and adjust to Detroit. Right now he's not on Moss' level, but he has all the tools to be there in a few years.

CJ has the potential to do what Moss has done, but give it 5 years untill Johnson is labeled better than Randy Moss.
