i haven't heard anybody on any national station give him any credit at all, not even a mention of his name, yet he was just as good as Quinn & Smith last year, with less talent around him

He put up a lot of big numbers against some weaker teams, and I don't think he is in the same ball park as Brennan or Brohm. Everybody on here is in love with him, but I need to see him do it against the bigtime teams, and lead his team to some upsets.

A little bit early but what the hell.
Overated:Mike Hart
Underated:Sam Keller

A recent development to keep your eye on: Sam Keller's locked into a battle for the starting QB spot right now up in Lincoln. Junior Joe Ganz may win the spot in Callahan's offense.

Overrated: Chad Henne (Good college QB, but not the kind of guy who strikes me as anything more than another Trent Dilfer... McShay ranked him eighth on the list for 2008 prospects)

Underrated: Tommy Blake (At 6'3," 255, he's bit undersized as a pro DE, but his athleticism would make him a great candidate as a 3-4 OLB. Was actually an All-State tailback for his HS team, rushing for over 2,000 yards as a senior, and was a part-time rover on their 3-3-5 stack defense. He ran a 4.5 back then and had an incredible vert {never knew exactly, but always heard it was in the 37"-range... was also an All-State hoops player), but is probably closer to a 4.6 or 4.7 with the 30 extra pounds. Blake's been a first team All-Mountain West player twice, won the MWC Defensive Player of the Year Award his sophomore year, and finishing second last year to Utah S Eric Weddle. Also, Blake absolutely dominated new Dallas OT Doug Free {drafted in the fourth round this year} at the Poinsettia Bowl, recording three early TFL's and two sacks.)

How can Mike Hart be overrated? Even Michigan fans don't think he has a future as a starting RB in any scheme other than a ZBS. Most people are projecting him as a 2nd or 3rd Round pick with some projecting him as a 4th Round pick. You have to be rated highly to be overrated.

Underrated-Keenan Burton WR Kentucky
He's going to be 2008's version of Robert Meachem except he actually will have more than one solid year to his resume. He has great size at 6'2" 195 lbs and he's got legit deep threat ability with solid body control. He's also an excellent return man.

Overrated-Colt Brennan QB Hawaii
Not blessed with great size at 6'3" 205 lbs and really in my opinion the product of the Hawaii passing offense. Doesn't have the strongest arm. I really can't see him as being anything more than a late 2nd round/early 3rd round QB and probably an NFL backup.

I'm with PL on this one. I'm probably one of the bigger Michigan homers around usually, and I'd honestly be shocked if Hart went before the late 2nd round, with the 3rd being more likely. I love the guy, but his size and speed are definately going to hurt his draft stock, as will only being looked at by ZBS teams.

I think Hart is a great college back, but I doubt he will ever be a starter in the league. The Barry Sanders deal is way off because Michael Hart runs like he's 6'4, 250 lbs, he's not nearly as agile as Barry was. Hart, I think, gets overlooked because he doesn't make the same kind of plays as a Steve Slaton or Darren McFadden, meaning he isn't breaking off 80+ yard runs frequently, but the guy can move the chains. You know exactly what you're getting with him.

Underrated: Andre Woodson (I played a little NCAA Football 07 with him, haha guy is amazing) No but seriously I think he's got a hell of an arm and is flying under the radar, which is surprising since he plays in the SEC, I thought major networks would be jamming him down people's throats.

Overrated Ted Ginn...whoops we already covered that. Derrick Williams. Hasn't done much to deserve the hype PSU fans give him

Homerism Prevails:
Underated-
Marcus Freeman - LB - he oculd end up making himself into a 1st day pick with ANOTHER solid year. A play maker, with speed, agility, football intelligence, love for hitting. A solid OLB prospect, 6'1, 235-240 are decent measurables.

Jamario Neal- SS, big time play maker, but lets up too man big plays. Needs to improve coverage skills. 2 moreyears he will bea 1st day pick in the NFL draft.

Brian Robiskie- people say he was a product of having great talent around him. this will be the year of Hartline and Robiskie.

Lawrence Wilson- starting DE opposite Gholston will havea huge year.

Throw out the Vandy game they are not elite let alone ranked. South Carolina was nothing special last year. He was OK against Florida and Tennessee, but nothing eye popping. He did have a good game against an above average Clemson team, but thats it. He doesn't deserve any national pub until he does something big against a big school.

Woodson does a lot for the little talent he has to work with. I like him a lot. He's got a gun for an arm, and if he had any talent besides #19 (I'm blanking on the name), that would help a little I'd think

QFT.
Comparing Hart to Barry Sanders is dumb because Hart isn't fast, agile, or elusive--he's a power runner.

Overrated: Booty, Brohm, Chris Long, Darren McFadden
As a Michigan fan I also think that Mario Manningham is overrated going into this season because he's proven nothing since he injured his leg. He was plenty good before, but I'm not about to put him on a preseason all-america list.
I don't think that Henne is a immediate step-in-and-start sort of guy but I think he's a first rounder like Jason Campbell was.

Underrated: Xavier Adibi.

Completing 67% of your passes for 281 yards against the 28th ranked pass defense isn't impressive? 289 yards and 2 TD against the 24th ranked pass defense isn't impressive? Completing 71% of your passes for 200+ yards against the National Champions isn't impressive? I think you need to give him a little more credit than that.

Woodson played five teams with a pass defense ranked in the top 30: LSU, Georgia, Clemson, South Carolina, and Tennessee. His stats in those games:

101 of 168 for 1224 yards & 8 TD, 4 INT

That comes out to be an average of: 20 of 33 (60%) for 245 yards & 1.6 TD, 0.8 INT per game.

And last, but not least, we shouldn't forget that he played for KENTUCKY.

You're going to have to explain how you think a 6'2,210 lb . RB with 4.35 speed and some premier ability to dole out punishment and run inside, also fresh of a sophomore season in which he won the Doak finished second in the heisman voting, is overrated.

And please don't use the "he is not a full time back and compares to reggie bush" argument, because it is very false.

McFadden, provided full health, will be a better prospect than Peterson. He's a more explosive back and he is just as physical when he needs to be.
