I hate wwe fans. London and Kendrick just had a good match and the crowd was ******** all over it cause there weren't punches, clothslines, or botched spinebusters, instead they *surprise!* actually wrestled.
That isn't WWE or exciting.

screw WWE, where's the TNA thread?
Let's get some Angle-Joe discussion going....
Must find way to see greatness.
I see Angle winning this one. Nonetheless, it should make for a good match.
I'm hoping Abyss/Cage/Sting is a lot better than their Turning Point match, which was pretty bad. BTW, anybody else find the PCS to be f'n hilarious?

The PCS segments are awesome. I agree with the Abyss/Cage/Sting comment. I love this 3-way feud, even with the bad matches, the promos and vignettes have been great. Also, as I mentioned a few posts up, I see Angle/Joe III being a 1-1 tie, or a 0-0 tie, to give them an excuse to wrestle again, hopefully in about 4/5 months, for the title.
Also, does anyone else really enjoy AJ's heel work?

Cena can't wrestle, but at least he tries hard, or at least he looks like he's trying hard out there in the ring. Unlike Batista, who cant wrestle, botches every move imaginable, annnnnnd looks as if he couldn't care less.

AJ's heel work has been better than I expected, given his mic skills are lacking. I think a tie in Angle/Joe would be good, then maybe downt he line (BFG perhaps) you could have them go at it once more.

I hate Batista's personality. He has the look of a ruthless monster, but he's out there having a good time and appreciating everything. He needs to be heel or just go on a big destruction rampage. He has no edge at all.

Nice to see Flair put Kenny over.
Too bad for HHH, I had a feeling they would somehow work him into the title mix for Wrestlemania. This is the least excited I've been about Wrestlemania in a while. Hopefully they use the opportunity to try to boost a few people up to main event status like they do from time to time. I nominate Johnny Nitro and Paul London (ok that probably won't happen).

Yeah I don't watch much Smackdown (or Raw for that matter). Come to think of it though, my nominee has to be my favorite gimmick of all time. The worm eating, clock smashing, crazy ass looking, weird name having, Boogeyman. Boogeyman spitting worms on Bautista's face would be epic. Heel or face, I don't care.

I actully get to go to Wrestlemania and it's going to suck, go figure. RAW is hard to watch now. The only reason I tune in anymore is to see Masters and Nitro/ K-Fed. Otherwise I couldnt give a ****. The WWE needs to get rid of ECW or Smackdown. The talent pool is too thin.
Also, I was a big fan of Kenny and the Spirit Squad. But wtf is with his gimmick? Electric guitar intro, stupid looking tights, Kenny Dykstra? I cant take him seriously anymore.

Triple H will be flown to Birmingham for an appointment tomorrow with Dr. James Andrews today. The preliminary indication is that HHH tore his right quadriceps while executing a spinebuster in the DX vs. Team Rated RKO match at tonight's New Year's Revolution PPV in Kansas City. It is ironic that today is five years ago to the day of his televised return from a similar injury he had suffered on May 21, 2001, in San Jose
So, its the right quad, and not the one he previously injured.
so what do they do with the DX angle now?
replace HHH for WreslteMania? X-Pac? Mick Foely? The Rock? Hogan? Piper? it would have to be a HUGE name to build any interest
Turn Michaels?
Turn Edge and RKO on each other?
Hmm.. I think DX is done. I'm going to guess that on Raw, they have a Rated RKO vs. Shawn Michaels, handicapped match.. if Rated RKO wins, DX has to break up.. if HBK wins, Rated RKO has to break up.. Something along those lines.

well...
Foley is likely fighting McMahon, The Rock isn't going to be wrestling again, at least anytime soon, Piper has cancer and is being treated atm, Stone Cold is too injured to wrestle again, really. Hogan is the only option, and he will not likely headline another Wrestlemania.
I don't think there are enough big name faces on Raw to turn one heel. I mean, you have HBK... and... Cena... and... who? Hardy? Flair? They are severely lacking in quality faces. You could move CM Punk or RVD over from ECW, since its a sinking ship.
You could take Batista from Smackdown, I wouldn't mind.. Smackdown is the best thing going in the WWE, and one of its only weak points is Batista.
Monty Brown has yet to debut, and rumors are that he is going to be a Raw main eventer, I guess you could make him a face, but I like him more as a heel, and maybe turn Edge face, I don't know.
I think the RKO angle was going to lead into them turning on each other anyway, with one going after the wwe title and leaving the other in the dust.
I'd love to see a Shawn Michaels vs. Edge feud, preferably for the belt. But eh, not likely.
You know what'd be awesome.. is a CM Punk vs. HBK match..
bold and not so predictions for this year
The Rock will face RKO soemtime during this year...
ECW will not last through July (nor does it need to)...
Rey Mysterio will become a jobber(due to his contract)
JBL will make a half ass ring return...

Triple H is in Birmingham, Ala. right now having his leg injury from last night's PPV examined. Today's diagnosis is a quadriceps tear on the opposite leg of his last injury. He is scheduled to have surgery tomorrow.
He tore his other quad on May 21, 2001 and returned about eight months later. Typical recovery time for this injury is nine months. After surgery, he will be in a wheel chair for a month or two, then on crutches for another two months, and then wear a leg immobilizer for another stretch of time, before moving into the rehab stage.
If he follows a typical recovery time pattern, he won't be able to return to action until around October 2007, missing WrestleMania and Summerslam.
The tentative main event for WrestleMania was Triple H challenging John Cena for the WWE Title. That will not happen now, obviously. A new WrestleMania main event will have to be devised, and the DX gimmick will probably be discontinued, barring Shawn Michaels "recruiting" a new member to take Hunter's place.
Vince McMahon and Kevin Nash suffered similar quad tears in recent years. Nash was out nine month. He did not continue wrestling his match when he tore his quad. Hunter did, putting other body parts and his opponents at risk of injury as he finished the match. Hunter wraps his knees tightly before wrestling to protect the knee, but it could also conceivably lead to a tendency to more easily tear a quad. It also might stabilize his legs even with a torn quad so he was more able to complete a match than someone suffering the same injury without his knees wrapped. Having suffered the same injury on his other leg in 2001, he probably immediately knew what happened.
Michaels, meanwhile, has shown signs of being very worn down by the schedule and in need of time off himself, increasingly so over the last year. The Triple H injury puts more pressure on him to work through his fatigue and nagging injuries (including continuing issues with his lower back, which forced his retirement at one point) at least through fall.

Another Trips update...
Triple H tears quadriceps tendon
Written: January 8, 2007
Following an MRI with Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Ala. on Monday, Triple H was diagnosed with a ruptured quadriceps tendon.
Officially, The Game suffered a tear of one of the four tendons in his right quadriceps. The injury occurred during DX's match with Rated-RKO at New Year's Revolution. Surgery will be performed on Tuesday in Alabama, and WWE doctor Ferdinand Rios estimates that The Game will need four to six months to rehabilitate the injury.
While he was in a tremendous amount of pain prior to the MRI, Triple H was said to be in great spirits and had a smile on his face.
So, 4-6 months of rehabilitation.

I'm not against putting Taker in the main event at Wrestlemania as they are hurting for talent right now and Taker is still a huge draw with a good story at Wrestlemania. That being said, the Royal Rumble is traditionally a chance to elevate a talent on the fringe to the top.
Why not RVD to win and take on Cena? How about Nitro and going to Smackdown to face Bautista? Hell I would take Chris Benoit again to face Lashley. I just think they could have used what is still a great way of elevating talent (and really the only immediate way now that the KOTR is a joke) and they blew it.

01-28-2007, 11:47 PM
I actually like the match at Wrestlemania with Taker but I hope and pray that they don't end his streak to put over Batista. The Undertaker does deserve to have another title reign but he needs a dominant one and that would hurt Smackdown more then help. But then again it could lead to matches with Kane, Benoit, or even a Finlay and they would be good matches. I like that the final four was three RAW guys because that now leaves the precursors to what the main event for RAW will be and HBK, Edge, or Orton will be a good match. Other then that I am disappointed that Mr. Kennedy didn't prevail because as much as I want to like Batista I can't because he's a horrible wrestler and brings nothing to the ring other then power. Mr. Kennedy brings more to the table and could have great matches with anyone where as Batista needs some in there to make him look good.
this does seal the fact however it will be 'Takers last Mania ever IMO so him getting a lose isn't totaly out of the question....

There are many problems with the WWE.
1. Vince McMahon. Shut up! Nobody wants to hear you talk or see you wrestle or do anything with beautiful women 40 years younger than you.
2. Carlito. That man is money, and they aren't doing anything of value with him. He and Masters could have a great feud if they would put a belt on one of them.
3. Chris Benoit. Now that Angle is gone, Benoit is the best wrestler in the WWE and he languishes in the midcard. Ever since he lost the title to Orton a few years back his career has been a joke.
4. Edge. I like the pairing with Orton, but I think an Edge-Orton feud would be great. Orton is a pompous ass and Edge is the one to shut him up.
5. Big guys like the Great Khali are horrible. I don't like seeing smash matches. It's more impressive to me and likely most of the people watching if two people put on a hard fought match and one man wins. The way they pushed Mr. Kennedy is ideal, they put him in the ring with his opponents and he beat them. They weren't squash matches, but they were good ones.
6. Matches end in interference WAY too much. Some of the best matches in history (Angle-Benoit at the Royal Rumble, British Bulldog-Bret Hart in England) were achieved because good technicians got into a ring and told a story. There wasn't any interference to help save face, one man won, the other didn't. More matches should be like this.

Carlito's a better heel. So was Cena. They are at their best when ripping people to shreds, which being a face doesn't allow.
Well at No Way Out it's going to be Cena and Micheals vs Batista and Taker in the main event acording to the SD spoilers.I exoect a Cena/Batista heel turn and Cena faces Micheals and Batista faces Taker at WM
You should mark your spoilers.. I try to avoid them... I'm sure i'm not the only one..

Cena should def. turn heel. When was he at his best? When he was rapping and pissing people off. He had legit heat during that time, now all the kids cheer John and the adults boo him. I want Cena to rap again!

I really liked heel, rapping Cena. I liked that entrance music more, I liked his promos then more, and that and that made up for him being average in the ring. Cena has the ability to be very entertaining, its just that with his current gimmick, and all that... i cant stand him. At least he tries harder than most wrestlers out there.. I cant take that away from him.

I watched about the first 5 minutes of that Wrestling Society X before I turned to Aries Spears on Comedy Central. WSX was absolutely horrible. They didn't even show the whole match I saw, they edited it down just to show the spots, which is boring to me. Big BOO in my book.
The ending of Smackdown was fun though. I love when they make those type of tag matches, putting potential opponents together, they should do that more often.

I would give The Boogeyman his own two hour sitcom. And I agree good matches like that should not be interrupted, but it sets up a fued/storyline with Finlay, so at least it has some utility.
And yeah, I haven't seen Smackdown in a long while but I enjoyed the Duece-Domino gimmick. Their intro with the music is grand too and for a new team they were generating some real heat (assuming it wasn't added later). Umaga would kill for that heat.

Boogeyman/Finlay feud would be a waste, imo. Boogeyman is nothing more than a novelty and will never be a wrestler, and Finlay is a guy who puts guys over and makes them look good (I know that doesnt make since cause Finlay could try and make him look credible, but I dont buy it.). I enjoy boogeymans entrance though.
Well, Smackdown has a reputation on the internet for piping in sounds, so I wouldnt doubt that they did, but still, gotta like Deuce & Domino.

Good Raw. I like what they are doing, although the Undertaker choice was obvious to a five year old. They should at least try to tease out the two teams as partners up till No Way Out though.
That Ric Flair confrontation with Carlito was fantastic. Mostly because, as I said just a few days ago, it was dead on. Carlito has been so lame and stale and Flair (even though he was acting) tore him apart in about 10 seconds. As much as I don't want Flair wrestling on my television anymore, he can cut a promo better than anyone.

Oh wow, this sounds intriguing.
[SPOILER]There are plans to form a new heel stable soon in TNA Wrestling. The current plan is to put Christian Cage, AJ Styles, Scott Steiner and Tyson Tomko together.
With AJ Styles' recent heel turn and Scott Steiner returning to TNA next month as Christian Cage's enforcer for his match against Kurt Angle, the steps are already being taken to align the foursome.
Christian Cage will fill the "Ric Flair" role as the star, AJ Styles as the pure athelete, Tyson Tomko as the powerful bigman and Scott Steiner serving as the veteran and another enforcer.
Babyfaces like Samoa Joe, Kurt Angle and Christopher Daniels will have their hands full with this faction, whose top priority will be keeping the NWA Title on Christian Cage/[SPOILER]
I think I might realllllllly enjoy this if done right.

so who is gonna represent the donald for the hair vs hair match?
Probably Lashley, unfortunately.
You don't like Lashley? Yeah he sucks on the mic but the dude can bring it.
I predict Lashley vs. Randy Orton. Then Orton loses and McMahon begins to punish him with a fued vs. Edge, turning Orton back to a face.

Even though it looks like Shawn Michaels and the Undertaker might start feuding.
Minor Spoilers, Nobody probably cares.. but I was checking out the Smackdown Superstars page today, and Shannon Moore is listed there.. I guess they moved him over from ECW. He'll probably show up in the Cruiserweight Circle Jerk today at the PPV.
I don't know if I have alerted you guys to his presence.. But I bring to you.. American Balloon!
He is simply amazing. Here is a highlight video from a match of his. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKJKYpuUG2g

Mike Awesome passed away today. This is very sad news, and Mike Awesome was one of my favorite wrestlers back in the day. There is no reported cause of death yet but one would assume that it was drug/steroid related. If the wrestling industry doesn't start doing a better job at testing the government is going to have to step in, it's alarming how many wrestlers die in their 40's every year. The WWE seems to be at least taking some steps, but I fear it's not nearly enough.

Pity about Mike Awesome, never was fond of him as a wrestler but it's never good when a man passes so early.
Anyway, I'm not sure if this is spoiler or not, but it concerns something about the No Way Out PPV. I have never heard a wrestling audience as silent as the one I heard last night, particularly during the Cruiserweight match. The reason behind it? Poor booking. The WWE has incredible talent in that division and they have done nothing with it. Hopefully they will start pushing some of these wrestlers now after that (fairly) controversial finish last night.
Mike Awesome was the freaking man!
The Awesome Bomb is the coolest version of the Power Bomb ever. I was a fan of his, he was one of the better heavyweights and his battles with Masato Tanaka were almost always great.

Well, WWE could be picking up a gem for the Cruiserweight division... They're giving a tryout to CMLL's (basically Mexico's) biggest star, by the name of Mistico. He is huge in Mexico.. Of course, they'd need to book him right (not bloody likely)..
I'm not sure if WWE is actually high on him or if they're trying to sign him out of spite.. WWE is having a show down in Mexico, and CMLL decided to run a PPV that same day, which obviously didn't make WWE too happy..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9ayzNKCySM
There's a little highlight clip of one of his matches. Some of it is sped up a little.. but he's every bit as fast as Rey Mysterio Jr. (the WCW version) was, but he's a few inches taller than Rey. Great timing and balance and all that good stuff..

Well its almost has though they over emphasize the big talent. Like Batista may be a fan favorite but he sucks and can't a match. Yet Regal and Taylor are ring generals and are fantastic and are lost so as to push a gimmick from the 50's. The blame is squarely on Michael Haynes and to an extent Stephanie. I mean Benoit was in a match and yet no hype whatsoever. Jeff is the IC champ and is constantly tagging with Matt who's on another show. I don't mind the cross promotions and it seems that its really going to work with ECW but come the IC belt used to mean something. But i'm done with complaining, and I look forward to RAW and ECW this week.
I'm guessing that the Money In the Bank match will have 2 Wrestlers from each show..
My prediction for the participants:: Shelton Benjamin (if there is a God), Jeff Hardy, Chris Benoit, Mr. Kennedy, RVD, and CM Punk.
I could also see Matt Hardy, Super Crazy, Elijah Burke, or Johnny Nitro in the match.. I'm thinking/hoping that they'll have something bigger planned for Elijah Burke, though (maybe vs. Lashley for the title?)..
Either way, I think Wrestlemania this year is going to be awesome..

Nitro needs a strong heel push. Once Wrestlemania is over and they start re-establishing normalcy I'd like to see him get a title shot (even if it's just to lose at Backlash or something). He's obviously too raw to hold the title, but just being in contention will legitimate him more, much like Ken Kennedy....Kennedy...

They need to let heels get on the mic more often. Nitro and Melina need to be portrayed as much more snobby, that would get them all kinds of heat.

I love Nitro, good wrestler, and comes off as a complete prick, good heel.
And i agree, Nitro/Michaels would result in a great set of matches.
I would love for Nitro to feud with HBK, lose the feud then drop back down and win the IC belt, resulting in a long feud with CM Punk. This feud could result in Punk holding down the midcard, as well as elevating Nitro from the Upper Midcard to the main event where he just feuded w/ Michaels.

Yes, I am insane! But I wouldn't have Nitro win it, not just yet anyways. It kind of reminds me of when Cena had to have knee surgery and got taken out by Brock Lesnar. That feud started the push that Cena is still enjoying today. Do something similar with Nitro/Michaels, it would work out great.

What exactly does he need to prove? Multiple time tag champ, multiple time Intercontinental champ, I would put him in the Money in the Bank ladder match and have him win it. I know he already lost a qualifying match, but there are easy enough ways to get him into it.

You guys realize the wrestling is fake right? Winning or losing matches doesn't "prove" anything as everything is prestaged. Nitro gets great heat, despite having a mediocre push. He has in-ring skills and has a great look/gimmick. He just needs more polishing on the mic and a stronger support behind him. Placing him in and out of singles to doubles doesn't help either.

Orton, other wrestlers linked to probe of pharmacy
Associated Press
Eleven professional wrestlers, including the WWE's Randy Orton, have joined the list of athletes linked to a nationwide steroids investigation.
Notable names linked to scandal
MLB
• Gary Matthews Jr.
• Jose Canseco
• John Rocker
• Jerry Hairston Jr.
• David Bell
Boxing
• Evander Holyfield
NFL
• Richard Rydze (Steelers doctor)

• Victor Martinez
Pro wrestling
• Kurt Angle
• Randy Orton
• Adam Copeland (Edge)
• Shane Helms (The Hurricane)
• Oscar Gutierrez (Rey Mysterio)
• Eddie Guerrero*
*Died in 2005
SI.com reported Monday that Orton allegedly received eight prescriptions for six different drugs -- including stanozolol, nandrolone and testosterone -- between March 2004 and August 2004. According to the documents SI.com reviewed, two doctors whose names also appear in Gary Matthews Jr.'s file wrote prescriptions for Orton.
Orton, through the WWE, declined comment, SI.com said.
In its review of documents, SI.com reported it found Adam Copeland, a.k.a. "Edge," and Shane Helms, a.k.a. "The Hurricane," received HGH from Applied Pharmacy in Mobile, Ala., one of the pharmacies raided in the investigation led by Albany, N.Y., District Attorney David Soares.
Through the WWE, Copeland and Helms didn't respond to a request for comment, SI.com said.
WWE spokesman Gary Davis told SI.com that WWE policy prohibits performance-enhancing drugs but would not say whether any wrestlers have tested positive since the policy was enacted.
Also linked to the scandal, in various reports, are baseball's Jose Canseco, John Rocker, Jerry Hairston Jr. and David Bell, former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield, Pittsburgh Steelers doctor Richard Rydze, 1996 Olympic wrestling gold medalist Kurt Angle and bodybuilder Victor Martinez.
Monday, SI.com also reported Arizona doctor David Wilbirt's name has come up in multiple files, including those of Angle, Oscar Gutierrez (stage name Rey Mysterio) and former WWE star Eddie Guerrero, who died in 2005.
Through the WWE, Gutierrez declined comment to SI.com about the report that Wilbirt had prescribed him nandrolone and stanozolol.
Wilbirt told SI.com he's not practicing medicine now.
"I'll tell you one thing and then this conversation is going to end," Wilbirt told SI.com when asked about the professional wrestlers. "They had done blood work and had laboratory work done and they had come to see me."

March 19, 2007
All of the allegations set forth in a recent SI.com article mentioning WWE predate the initiation of WWE’s current Talent Wellness Program. This WWE program prohibits the use of performance enhancing drugs, as well as other prescription drugs which can be abused, if taken for other than a legitimate medical purpose pursuant to a valid prescription from a licensed and treating physician.
