I don't think WWE is making Orton a tweener the fans are.

Like when HHH was the biggest heel and when his music would hit and there would be a loud cheer and then people would boo.

http://www.wrestlingnewsworld.com/wwe-news/reported-talent-list-for-wwe-nxt.php

The following names are slated for WWE NXT which debuts next week on SyFy.

* Justin Angel

* Daniel Bryan

* Kaval

* Joe Hennig

* Skip Sheffield

* Brett DiBiase

* Darren Young

* Heath Slater

* Michael Tarver

"The above rookies will be paired with a WWE veteran where they will compete to advance as a full-time member to either Raw or Smackdown. They will also be available to make crossover appearances on the main shows while competing. The original concept was to have eight teams but in this report there are nine listed."

Note to TNA: The concept of a hierarchy only works if it is actually logical.

Case in point: Samoa Joe gets a PPV title shot against AJ Styles, despite losing to Desmond Wolfe in his only meaningful match that month and not being on the last PPV at all. Now, after losing to to Styles, you have him back fighting meaningless mid-card fights.

I like long title reigns too, but I don't think that the WWE would book the feuds right. You gotta have some good feuds during a long title reign, or else the title is just a piece of metal that they don't know how to use properly.

I remember when Shelton Benjamin was the IC champ for about 8 months. On paper it sounds like a really good reign, but they really didn't have him in anything memorable. They could have had something big with Randy Orton feuding with him, but they pushed him too hard too fast when he was with Evolution at the time. If they would have had him and Shelton fighting over the IC title longer, it would have been a better build up to his main event status. Instead it was just like Shelton was holding a belt just to hold one.

They missed out on some good feuds back then. I really miss the days to where dudes would go through all kinds of hell to get or keep the IC title.

Good and Bad from this iMPACT. Count the opening segment, the Angle/Anderson segment and Kazarian being back as good. Count the Abyss/Hogan/Ring Segment as bad, because it was pretty brutal. But if it gets Abyss back to being a monster and not a *****, then it'll be worth it.

I loved the opening and ending segments. TNA has some real good main event talent if they use it right. My big problem is how they're using Samoa Joe and Daniels. These dudes should be at the top of the ladder, but they're jobbing like they shouldn't. Nothing wrong with losing to Kurt Angle, but losing within three minutes is pretty bad for a guy that could have had a really solid 10 minute match. Samoa Joe shouldn't be losing clean to Orlando Jordan at all. I understand that they're trying to push Orlando. Maybe he had something that WWE didn't realize when he was there, but Samoa Joe should be one of TNA's top five guys. He needs to be a monster, and not a guy who loses in the middle of the broadcast to a relative no-name.

What do you guys think will be the Kliq's legacy?

These guys have been involved both in some of the greatest Wrestling moments and some of the worst moments also.

They'll go down as one of the most influential groups in wrestling history. Shawn ran WWF back in the day, and Trips gets his way now. Hall and Nash did the same with WCW back then, and they're still around getting perks that no one else could with their legacies. They could be the most powerful backstage stable there has been. At least in my wrestling lifetime they have been.

Individually I think HBK is the best wrestler of all time. That's a personal opinion, but he does get some love as one of the greatest from most wrestling fans. HHH is the same. He' done plenty of things I don't agree with in terms of booking, but the man is very talented. I think Hall is the better talent than Nash, but Nash has been more consistent. Waltman will always be remembered as the guy who never got to the top, but had good talent. For some reason he never really stuck out beyond being a guy with a lot of potential.

Last night seemed to be building back to Joe as a monster. I mean, Bisch was talking about the samoan savage in him, etc. Then he pretty much murdered Orlando Jordan for the entire match until Jordan got lucky with the lung blower. Plus, he was abducted! So hes getting a storyline. Its not like hes being pushed down the card or anything, he just lost a match. Pope lost to Jordan last month and hes more than fine.

Edge and Jericho will be the highlight of Wrestlemania. I'm a huge HBK mark, but we saw the matchup with Undertaker last year. It was great, but I don't look forward to it that much. I'm excited, but not on my heels anticipating it. Edge and Jericho though is pretty damn awesome.

I'm not really excited for this rumored WM card. I have high hopes for the Jericho/Edge match, but it's a little disappointing when you already know the result. Undertaker/HBK is going to be a huge let down in my opinion. WWE is going to try too hard to top last year and they are going to go overboard.

I like making lists (it's the A.D.D.)

BF51's top 10 wrestlers under 35

1) Randy Orton
2) CM Punk
3) AJ Styles
4) D'Angelo Dinero
5) Mr. Anderson
6) The Miz
7) John Cena
8) John Morrison
9) Jack Swagger
10) Samoa Joe

Brodeur

Mr. Anderson belongs nowhere near a top 10 list, let alone being above the guys you have him above.

bearsfan_51
02-22-2010, 12:01 PM
I go back and forth on him, I'm currently pro Mr. Anderson because he made fun of the troops, and anyone that has the stones to do that in front of an audience full of rednecks gets my love.

Seriously, when Kurt was blathering on about how he represents the troops with his fake wrestling I was all like:

http://static.flickr.com/53/109082194_32de7d9bb9.jpg

But then when Mr. Anderson came out and made him look like an ass I was all like:

http://www.babble.com/CS/blogs/famecrawler/2009/02/LilWayne.jpg

Also, I've made no bones about the fact that I think TNA is a vastly inferior product, so I was trying to be fair by having 4 TNA guys on there.

Kudos for the list attempt BF51 and I agree on a lot of it, but Anderson above Joe is chuckleworthy.

bearsfan_51
02-22-2010, 12:13 PM
I only put Joe on there because he's popular with TNA fans. His ring psychology sucks. He's fat. And his mic work is mediocre. He's like a fat version of John Morrison come to think of it.

Honestly, other than taking spots, what does Joe do particularly well?

the_legend_killer
02-22-2010, 12:15 PM
Who cares if he's fat? He moves better than guys lighter than him. Anderson's kind of the opposite, great on the mic, but average in the ring. (And this is coming from a big Anderson fan)

bearsfan_51
02-22-2010, 12:17 PM
I don't consider Joe great in the ring though. He's great at taking spots, and for a fat guy, he can move. Those are positive qualities, but his in-ring psychology and ability to develop a match pales in comparison to a guy like Randy Orton, or even A.J. Styles (who himself is a bit of a "spot guy")

As for why it matters that he's fat, wrestling is based on perception, and Joe looks like a guy who could barely run up a flight of stairs. Sure, I would take that over a guy who looks like Chris Masters but can't move for ****, but ideally you should be both.

He's over with the limited # of people at the TNA arena. I'm always skeptical of how much that would translate to a 20k seat arena audience. Maybe there are merchandise #'s available.

There was a recent poll on TNA's website (also unscientific, but a bigger sample) for the most popular wrestler in TNA. The top guys outside of AJ Styles were all old WWE guys.

the_legend_killer
02-22-2010, 12:51 PM
Where was this poll at? I visit the site fairly often, but have never come across it. Joe was voted Mr. TNA in 2006 and 2007, but they haven't done that in a few years, so who know who they've vote for now.

2. Randy Orton
3. CM Punk
4. Kurt Angle
5. Desmond Wolfe
6. Chris Jericho
7. Mr Anderson
8. The Miz
9. Edge
10. AJ Styles

The Greatest Man That Ever Lived, A Double, Austin Aries... comes in at #11.

Christian comes in at #12, taking a huge fall from his former spot at easily #1 on my list 2-3 years ago. He was AWESOME as the leader of Christian's Coalition. My favorite heel since DX HBK ('97) and NWA Flair (80's). He doesnt get interview time in WWE, and when he does, its the typical stuff that everyone else gets that does nothing to add to character, its just there for story purposes.

I met him when I went to a TNA Live show last October and I was sold. Next to AJ, he was the most over guy at the show, was the first guy out to sign autographs and the last to leave (At least I assume so, he was the only guy out still signing when I left). Guy is cool ****, talking with all the fans and looking like he was enjoying it. Plus, I think he wrestles a good style, he's big and athletic and recently he's started learning how to work a big man style.

I'm not a fan of them doing Taker/HBK again because they won't be able to top last year's epic match. Also, either HBK retires (which I guess is coming sooner or later) or Taker loses his streak, to someone who doesn't need any more legacy buffing. If Taker would lose, it should be to someone who could use it to springboard to superstardom.

I think the HBK/Taker match could end both ways. If Shawn ends the streak, maybe Taker retires in the ring since he really doesn't have much left. If Taker wins, maybe they do an angle to where Shawn has to come back for some reason by Summerslam. I really wouldn't be surprised to see HBK come back if he loses, because wrestling retirements don't last long.The only reason I see Undertaker retiring for good is because he's got serious knee problems at his age. I could see Shawn stick around for another year or two.

John Cena vs. Daniel Bryan in 2003.

Also, The Cat.

Yea, im totally sad about the Maria release. I pretty much love her.

She even won the Diva of the year in 09 (which was voted on by fans), shows that it really doesnt matter if youre over or not. And i mean, she was a bad wrestler, but theyre loaded with talentless women. I suppose she must have been making a lot of money or something? Who knows.

She's made comments in the past few months about wanting to have kids and not knowing what the future held for her. Could have been mutual.

But if not, the WWE is ******* stupid. You have Jillian Hall's dog face on contract still...cut her.

The pre-Wrestlemania cuts continue out of WWE as referee Scott Armstrong has been released.

Theres an interview online where she says she didnt ask for her release, and that she didnt have any idea about possibly being released at all until about an hour before it was on wwe.com

As far as TNA goes with picking up Helms, Burchill and Maria, they should worry about the food they have on their plates before they ask for snacks.

Agreed.

They are going to end up like WCW and signing every one instead of developing the talent they all ready have.

so should we add Mysterio v Punk to the WM card given SD the past 2-3 weeks?

Punk-Mysterio and some variation of Orton-Legacy both seem very likely.

They need to move SD back to Thursday nights. I really keep forgetting about it. Even when I'm home on Friday, I still tend to watch other things before forgetting about Smackdown a hour and a half into the broadcast. I hate missing my boy Punk.

"WWE just announced (http://www.wwe.com/inside/news/haasreleased) that they have released SmackDown Superstar Charlie Haas as of today, February 28th. This is the fourth WWE release this weekend, as Maria, referee Scott Armstrong, Shane Helms, and Paul Burchill were released on Friday."

Hopefully not in a mask v hair match, I hate mysterio mask matches because the result is never in doubt

Bad comparison. WCW had all of their non-used guys on guaranteed contracts where they were getting paid to do nothing just so they couldnt jump to WWF. TNA has a lot of their talent on a pay-per-appearance deal, where they dont have to pay them if they dont use them

http://www.wrestlingnewsworld.com/wwe-news/sheamus-headed-to-smackdown.php

Sheamus is being advertised as a member of the Smackdown roster in ads for shows after the 2010 WWE Draft on April 26th. As always plans are subject to change but this could be the current direction.
