I agree, with my pretty novice level of understanding with the guitar(but more than most I would assume) I believe John Mayer is a hell of a guitar player. Its really a shame that he has seemed to bow to the whole pop thing because he could really put out some excellent blues-rock type of stuff if he wanted to.
