Yeah UNC is definitely looking good, 2 championships in 3 years would be really nice, but thats a little premature right now
Paul Harris made his Syracuse debut today and got a small double-double out of it
Buffalo escaped Canisius, so I'm feeling pretty good right now

Top 10 recruit and projected top 10 draft pick in 08 Donte Greene goes there and another decenet prospect Malcom Delaney also goes there. We were gonna go but didnt make it. I wanna check this green kid out because ive never saw him play and cant find no videos on him. But if hes as good as the hype him and Paul Harris could be a sick Duo if Harris stays longer than a year.

Alrighty, everyone post your fav. team's outlook/preview for this season. Here's mine for Illinois.
No one really knows how good we can be this season. It all hinges on what players step up this season. If Randle, McBride, and Carter can all step it up as veterans on this squad, we'll be tough to beat. Here's my player by player break down.
Brian Randle - Great upside. Incredibly athletic, great defender (the best in the Big 10), and very good in transition. Question remains is if he's developed an outside shot; if he has he's one of the best players in the nation, period.
Rich McBride - Out for 4 games due to DUI. But he'll be a HUGE factor in our offense. Marksman from outside who when in the zone is one of the best shooters in not only the Big 10; but in the entire nation. Needs to show he can take it to the rack and not rely on his jumper all the time. He's been a disappointment so far in Champaign, so let's see if he can go out on a high note.
Warren Carter - Will this be his breakout year? I think it will be. He's been incredible in the Preaseason. Knocking down outside shots, banging inside, and strong on defense. He's the X-Factor for our teams success IMO.
Jamar Smith - The freshman sensation. A ringer from the outside who's shown flashes of being able to drive to the basket. Shot hasn't fallen in the Preaseason but he'll come around. Much like McBride when he's on, he's unguardable from the outside. Needs to step up and put up some points this season in a starting role.
Chester Frazier - My favorite player on this team. Most improved player during the offseason IMO. Nasty on defense and incredibly quick with and without the ball. Developed his outside game and has shown the ability to knock down the 3. And the biggest improvement is his willingness to drive the rack. IMO could really breakout this season and be a 2nd Team All-Big 10 Selection. The most promising part about Chester; he's only going to get better.
Shaun Pruitt - Another question mark. He's got the tools to be a beast on the block. Good size, strength, and post moves. Very good rebounder and shot blocker. Gained a ton of experience last year in the starting lineup. Another potential breakout player this season. But can he step up and produce?
Trent Meacham - Transfer from Dayton. Marksman from the outside and can fill it up. The question for him is if he can run this offense (ie passing and keeping the motion going). He's got talent, but I think he's still a year away from producing at a high level.
Marcus Arnold - I had high hopes for this kid coming in from Illinois State. He's very talented but for some reason he just can't put it together, and this year looks no different. Frustrating to watch him miss layup after layup after layup. Showed some promise as a player who could produce for us down low but his consistency is an issue. Will need to step up as a Senior this season.
Calvin Brock - Talented much like Arnold but just can't put it together either. Although he's only a Sophomore. Kid's got potential as a scorer and passer he just needs to get some confidence. Made some great plays in the Preseason and made some bad ones. Still though, a talent that if he works on his game, he'll be a valuable player to our program.
CJ Jackson - Needs experience. Looks lost out on the court at times. But he's a load to handle on the block. If he works on his game and develops, he'll remind me a lot of a portlier Wayne Simeon, without the outside game.
Brian Carlwell - Might RS this season. But man is this kid talented. Long, athletic, and smart. Needs some polishing on both ends, but Webbie is one of the best talent developers in the nation. So I'm anxious to see what Webbie can do with this kid. A ton of talent for Brian.
Richard Semrau - Another bright looking young player and an incoming Freshman. Incredibly athletic, runs the floor well, and finishes around the basket. Has the makings of an outside game as well. Needs to work on his defense but that'll come during the offseason next year. IMO he's been one of the most impressive players on the court this preseason for us. Should not RS, we need his athleticism to log some minutes. Future is very bright though in Champaign.
Season Outlook: I say we'll finish 3rd in the Big 10 (at the worst). Possibly higher. If we can put it all together, we're a top 15 or so team in the nation. I know what I've seen from my boys and I know what they can do. It's just a matter of walking the walk. Without a doubt BAM's biggest test yet as our HC. I expect kind of a slow start b/c we're going to have to find our niche our there, but once we get rolling we'll be fun to watch. Up and down the floor (like the Dee days).
I'll say a Sweet 16 appearance and I'll make an early prediction that we win the Big 10 Tourny at the UC.

HASHEEM THABEET!?!?!?!?
The guy is good defensively but he has a lot of work to be good ofensivly. He just would not go up strong to the hoop at all, always pulling up to try and drop it in the hoop. I was dissapointed with him. He should only be allowed to touch the ball when he blocks it. He made this sick play where he just grabbed the ball out of the air when somebody shot it, and then nearly threw it away trying to pass it.

WTF? :?
Oh and another note. Those reported "death threats" against Eric Gordon was a bunch of bull and his dad lied to the media. Eric Sr you are classless, just flatout classless. It's pretty sad when your son comes in and says you were wrong about there being death threats.
That's twice he's severely damaged our program. What a prick.
From North Central School Newspaper:
'...the media has recently exaggerated the content of the hate mail Gordon has been receiving. "It wasn't really death threats, but it was threatening in that they didn't want me to be successful," Gordon said.'
Oh poor Eric...Well what did you expect from Illini fans after you ditched us at the 11th hour..."Hey Eric, it's ok. We hope you do really well at IU and come back and beat us."

Oh and my pick to win the Nat'l Title this season is UNC. Hansborough is the best post player in the country and with the added talent and returning talent, I think they take it.
Repeating is SO tough, and with UNC's added talent, I give them the edge. Plus Joakim Noah is the most overrated player in the nation. He's a rich man's Tyson Chandler. I still don't know how he's a top 5 pick. :?

I'll agree with that. His game is garbage. He's all hustle and tenacity. That's it. Like I said, he's a rich man's Tyson Chandler. A tad more offensive ability but that's it.

Watch out for my Ducks this year. They were probably the biggest under-achievers in the nation last season. Tons of talent on this team. We should compete for the Pac-10 title. Keep an eye on 5-6 freshman guard Tajuan Porter. He was Malik Hairston's teammate at Detroit's Renaissance HS. Kid is cat-quick with ridiculous range. In 2 exhibition games, he logged 56 minutes, shot 11-21 from beyond the arc, had 8 boards, 4 steals, and 8 assists.
In the Basketball Travelers Classic against Lehigh, he had a game high 27 points while shooting 5-10 on threes, 10-11 from the stripe, with 2 boards and 5 assists. He and Aaron Brooks give us great depth at PG. The 3 point shooting will be unbelievable on this team with the aforementioned guards, Chamberlain Oguchi, and Bryce Taylor. Maarty Leunen is one of the most underrated players in the country. He is a great shooter, and probably our best rebounder. Despite some of the bigger names on the team, I honestly think he is our best overall player. Hairston hasn't realized his potential yet. If he and Ray Schaeffer step up this year, the Ducks will go far. I'm pretty excited about our squad this year. Just wish we had a better coach.

That's fine, you crazy kids count out Ohio State. Once we get Oden for Big Ten play, we'll be NASTY!
Anyways, I'm not a giant College B-Ball fan, but I'll go to some games and watch most on TV. Basketball always alluded me as a sport.
I think OSU will struggle early without Oden, though they looked good last night and started getting it in the second half. We'll lose to UNC and Florida, but once Big Ten play hits, and Oden is back, we'll be right up there and take the Big Ten tournament. Matta is a beast of a coach.
When is Oden expected to be back?

Im not a big fan of the NBA, but I love college basketball. And with Wisconsin and Marquette it will be a great year for me. I expect it to be a close race for the title between Wisconsin and OSU, but in the NCAA touney they should both get a high seed anyway.
And Cards, Im thinking IU will be anywhere from 4-6 in the Big Ten and around a 7-10 seed

Oh yeah, Wisconsin is a great team, and I think Illinois will do one of the extremes. Either choke hard, or beat teams they shouldn't and be at the top of the Big Ten.
I don't watch the NBA at all, which hurts because I never really "learned" basketball. I understand the basics, but I don't get all the fouls and strategy and such. So, I'll probably comment all year and look like a homer or a rookie :P

3 returning seniors, watkins, roberts, and nichols. 2nd year vet devendorf had a great freshman season and looks to do it again. freshman paul harris has looked very sharp with the little action i saw. lack good depth but have enough to get it done.

There seem to be A LOT of good teams. It will be an exciting year. But is it wrong that I don't get up much for the regular season? I just feel like if you are halfway decent, you'll make the tourney and go from there. Especially out of conference stuff, I don't quite care as much.

Yes they have some rebuilding, but they're going to be a scary team once they start to click. Wisconsin has Tucker and Taylor; and a couple other solid players but that's it. We have 3 or 4 potential breakout players this seaosn, along with a couple more good players.

Illinois should have beaten UNC. We could not hit an outside jumper to save our lives, and we had 3 or 4 wide open chances from 3 to win that game. I give credit to UNC but we lost that game IMO.

Yea but other then DJ White who do you have? Illinois has a lot more talent then IU does, RIGHT NOW and we're a deeper team.
Earl Calloway emerged as a very good point guard late last year, AJ Ratliff had a great freshman campaign and has recovered from his injury last year and Rodrick Wilmont was the best 6th man in the nation last year but he started like two too many games to qualify and will be starting this year. I just realized I read that wrong, i thought GB was saying we would win 4 Big Ten games.

Ohio State, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Purdue, and Michigan are the only teams worth a damn in this conference. Well Penn State is decent but not to the other teams' level.
MSU lost to a Div. III school, or maybe it was a Div. II school. I forget but it's still pathetic. I'm telling you, there is not one DOMINANT team in this conference, there's really no clear cut favorite to win this thing right now.
Wisconsin has 2 awesome players in Tucker and Taylor but other then them I don't think they have a very good supporting cast. But Tucker is one of the best players in the nation, and so is Taylor. So they'll be very tough to beat this season.
Ohio State while having a lot of YOUNG talent, I don't see a bunch of freshman leading this team to where people think they're going. Losing Dials last year really hurt. Oden will be very good but I quesiton the freshman leadership on this team.
Illinois is a conondrum. Us Illini fans have high hopes for this team but we have no idea of how good we can be. We'll either be a pretty tough team this season or a very good team this season capable of winning the Big 10. A lot of questions have to be answered on this team, but IF they are I think we can take the conference.
Indiana while getting their best player back, I just dont' see them finishing at #1 or #2, I even have a hard time seeing them at #3 but who knows. They do have a pretty good supporting cast, but they are not as deep, nor as talented as Illinois, Wisconsin, and Ohio State are.
The other teams, eh I'm not going to analyze them.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but young talent can take you a long way in basketball. Oden is mature beyond his years of course, and Terwilliger is the veteran presence on the team. At this point, yes, Wisconsin is better. But if we are going to project the future, you give this OSU team a ew months to mature, I'm feeling it. They don't have to be great now, they have to be great 2 or 3 months. That's why I like our chances :)

Yes, talent does take you a long way, but so does experience, and that's something tOSU doesn't have.
I think it's going to be a three horse race b/w Wisconsin, Ohio State, and Illinois personally. With Indiana coming in 4th.
I think Wisconsin is definitely the best team in the Big Ten and that UI, OSU and IU will be battling for the other 3 spots.

I know its all Big Ten fans in here so Ill just go out and say it. The Big Ten is terrible coming into this season. Ohio State is the only team to be bringing in top freshman talent and the majority of the conferences top teams lost a lot of their production. Even with the talent the Big Ten had last year they still looked terrible in the NCAA tourney.
Now onto a state of Michigan outlook. It looks like Michigan will finally be better than Michigan State for a year. Don't put anythnig past Tom Izzo but he will need to work a miracle with this team. State returns basically only anemic shooting and tiny PG Drew Neitzel and soft C Goran Suton.
Michigan would actually love to have Neitzel, even though they bring back and feature a very solid trio of Dion Harris, Lester Abram, & Courtney Sims to be their main guys at G, F & C. But Michigan is left with a huge hole at PG with Horton gone, Amaker really hasnt done a great job of recruiting and our PG to be Jerrell Smith leaves a lot to be desired. With other solid players in high flying Brent Petway and all around solid F Ronald Coleman Michigan shouldnt be half bad this season. If they can get solid ballhandling and PG play on paper Michigan is easily as good as Indiana, Wisconsin, & Illinois who come into the season not looking all that impressive themselves.

Most every team has played a game at least now, but all the major conference programs all play small school cans at this point in the season. Hopefully within the next couple of weeks some of the bigger preseason tournaments and non conference matchups will happen.

so a team can't be good this year unless they brought in inexperienced Freshman? Plus, it was quite obvious Wisconsin wouldn't go far last season. They are much more experienced this year. There's a reasone they are ranked #9.

Did you even read what I wrote? I said not bringing in top freshman in conjunction with losing players to graduation/nba.
God I swear, i hate this site, people never read what you say but respond with critisism to one point you make.
I also never mentioned anything specifically about Wisconsin and was talking about the Big 10 as a whole, a lot of graduating players and a lack of top recruits, but once again you would have had to read the post to realize this.
Wisconsin has a very solid team this year especially with their backcourt, theyre basically the one exception in the Big 10 of a team that didnt lose a huge chunk of production.

Update on Tajuan Porter-
After a huge game against Cal St. Northridge in which he scored 28 points while going 6-12 from beyond the arc, Porter out-did himself on Sunday against Portland St.
He scored 38 points on 12-14 shooting (10-12 from long range), including a miraculous 60 foot buzzer beater to end the first half. His 10 treys set an Oregon record, and his 38 points set an Oregon record for freshmen. He also had 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals. He did all this in just 28 minutes. He's a freaking 5-6 true freshman. This kid is something special.

It is one of my favorite sports but i've been a Cincy fan since I was younger and with them making all the program changes and getting rid of everyone that ever had to do with Huggins sucks. Well I guess ill try to give an explanation for each school thats around me.
Temple-Was never a Chaney fan, but am curious to see how Dunphy rebuilds the program even though im not big on him either.
Villanova- I cant stand Villanova I have a few friends that went there and just hearing them all the time annoys me. Plus im not big on Jay Wright or Mike Nardi at all.
Penn- How doesnt the IVY League have a championship game? I think its so stupid. Penn is usually good but didnt like Dunphy.
Drexel- My older brother went there. I dont dislike Drexel like I do the 3 above. I will root for them. They really fell apart last year after almost stunning Duke in Madison Square Garden.
LaSalle- My little brother goes there now. I will also root for them. Their coach seems like he has been doing an excellent job since hes been there based on recruiting.
But when its all said and done I have to go with Huggins and K-State. Its good that they are getting Bill Walker in December.

Dude I'm getting tired of your homer ********. It's sickening to read. Iowa won't touch the top 5 this season. Holuska is their only player, and he's overrated at that.
Btw, Indiana is looking pathetic. I dont' care what the score states, they were outplayed and outhustled for the better part of 35 minutes until UL unraveled. If UL didn't committ dumb TO's they would be winning this game. But of course Sanctions will pull it out. Pretty sad when you can barely play with a team that only get's 8 scholarships. Without DJ White against a good team, they're going to get smashed. UL's man defense is terrible, which is why Calloway can get to the rim at will. Wow is all I ahve to say for Indiana, just wow.

Did anybody watch the IU game? Those were honestly the worst refs I have ever seen in my life.
Not as bad as your team looked last night though.
The balls were going both ways though. But yes, they were terrible refs.
A few things I noticed about IU. And I know it's only the first game but here's what I noticed:
1) If DJ White goes out you guys are in TROUBLE!
2) You can't play man to man defense to save your lives. UL was slicing through you guys like swiss cheese. Although I will say you played better D in the last 5 minutes.
3) Besides Calloway I don't fear any of the guards on your team scoring wise. Wilmont needs a kick out because he can't get his own shot, at least from what I saw.
4) UL plays terrible man to man defense and you guys still had trouble getting into the lanes and scoring. That and you couldn't hit an outside shot to save your lives.
5) You don't have any "quality" bigs besides DJ White. Well I guess Mike White is ok but that'll be a problem this year for you guys.
6) You have about 3 or 4 athletic guys on your entire team. I think that poses a problem against a team as say Ohio State or a really athletic team.
7) You don't have a true PG in your lineup. I don't see anyone on the floor who can run that offense. Calloway is more of a 2 then a 1, and the lack of a PG will hurt.
8) Boy you guys should have and could have lost that game. UL outhustled and outplayed you for 35 minutes until they crumbled off of their own dumb mistakes.
Like I said I know it's only the first game but you guys looked BAAADDD. I don't think I've seen a worse performance from a Big 10 school in a long time. Can't say that I didn't enjoy watching you guys struggle though as an Illini fan. :D
Btw, Jamar Smith is likely out a couple weeks. God damn. We just can't catch a break this year so far. McBride gets a DUI, Randle pulls his groin, and now Jamar sprains his ankle. Great.

There's all this buzz going around about Bob Knight's sideline incident last night.
Personally, who cares? He (player) wasn't looking up at Bob Knight; he needed to get his attention. It's a bunch of hooplah about nothing.

I agree that this is an overblown incident. On Mike & Mike this morning, Golic went as far as to say that if his son's HS coach were to do that to his son during a game, he wouldn't mind. The player's mom also released a statement saying she was not concerned. This whole thing is really being pushed by the media because it's Bob Knight. If Coach K did this, it probably wouldn't make any news outlet. Back off and let the man coach. The player was playing poorly, then he didn't look the coach in the eye. Are we so overly protective and maladramatic in America anymore that people aren't even allowed to touch?

Well said but sadly it has almost come to this. That kid is getting the chance of a lifetime right now to be in the same company as Bob Knight.
I didn't say that is why we played bad, because it was going both ways. Those refs were just terrible, I hope they aren't back tonight.
1) If DJ White goes out you guys are in TROUBLE!
Very true. We are not deep at all in big men.
2) You can't play man to man defense to save your lives. UL was slicing through you guys like swiss cheese. Although I will say you played better D in the last 5 minutes.
The team came out completely flat and just assumed that Lafayette would lay down. We have a pretty quick team and I think as the season goes on, the defense will drastically improve from what it was last night because of how much Sampson stresses good defense.
3) Besides Calloway I don't fear any of the guards on your team scoring wise. Wilmont needs a kick out because he can't get his own shot, at least from what I saw.
Most of are guards are shooters rather than scorers but I would look out for AJ Ratliff. He had a great Freshman season but suffered a hand injury last year that completely messed up his shooting and from what I saw of him last night he seems like he will be back this year.
5) You don't have any "quality" bigs besides DJ White. Well I guess Mike White is ok but that'll be a problem this year for you guys
Our three other big men that will see quality time this season are Ben Allen, Lance Stemler and Mike White. White and Stemler are JUCO's and should improve as the season progresses and Allen, well I don't know what to think about him. He came from Australia last year and hyped himself up with the media and made us think he was something. He wasn't. He is a Dirk Nowitzki style big man and we had him playing inside a lot last year and he was just too scrawny. Over the off-season he put on 30-40 pounds in muscle and it will be interesting to see how he plays this year. Obviously our main weakness is in the post, just like last year.
6) You have about 3 or 4 athletic guys on your entire team. I think that poses a problem against a team as say Ohio State or a really athletic team.
Calloway, Ratliff, Wilmont, Armon Bassett, Joey Shaw, Lance Stemler and what little I've seen of Xavier Keeling, are all athletic players but I see what you mean, we have a lot more shooters than scorers.
7) You don't have a true PG in your lineup. I don't see anyone on the floor who can run that offense. Calloway is more of a 2 then a 1, and the lack of a PG will hurt you.
Calloway is a true point guard and I'm assuming you're saying that he is not judging only from last night. When he got his chance to start at the end of last year, the supporing cast was playing well and we had a great post player in at most times which made it so he didn't have to do so much on his own like he was forced to last night.
I'm love/hate with Knight but I definitely do not think he should be reprimanded for what he did last night. He was simply getting the players attention. If he had actually hit him it would be a different story but he didn't so I see nothing wrong. If a coach that did not have the history that Knight has I don't think this would be even close to as big of a deal as the media is making it out to be.

I like KU to win it all this year. They have great depth at guard and forward, and when they get Kaun back they will have somewhat of an inside presence.
Guard Russell Robinson- One of the more underrated players in the country in my opinion. He's mad better decisions and has improved his outside game.
Guard Sharron Collins- He small, but he can straight play. He's great from behind the arc and isn't scared to go up with anyone.
Guard Mario Chalmers- He can obviosuly shoot from beyond the arc. He's been playing great D and can take it too the hole. Needs to work on decision making.
Forward Brandon Rush- Need I say more. He's a player can do everything. If he stops being so passive he could be the one of the top players in the countries.
Forward Julian Wright- probably the best overall player on the team. I think he might be the best passer, rebounder, defender on this team. He's not a great shooter, but if we can get 12 points 9 rebounds 6 assists and steal and a couple blocks he's doing his job.
Forward Darrell Arthur- Freshman phenom. He has a thin fram, but has great turn-around and is very good beyond the arc. He is very good rebounder also.
Center Darrell Jackson- He's really the only "big body" they have until Kaun gets back. He is a good defender and rebounder. Not much of a shooter, but can get his points in the paint.
Center Sasha Kaun- Another underrated player. He plays with alot of passion, but is inconsistent.

He choked in the Elite 8 against Arizona when we should've been in the Final 4. I can't stand the guy personally. I don't think they'll win the Nat'l Championship this season; but with all that talent I find it hard to believe that even his clueless coaching will prevent them from going far into the tournament.
Also, he blackballed us in recruiting after he left. Talking bad things about Illinois to try and lure recruits to Illinois. Which is another reason why I can't stand the guy.

Meachem will start for Smith and Carter will start for Randle. At least that's what most are thinking. Brock will get a lot of minutes off the bench but he played VERY WELL last night.
Carter has a lot of potential to give us big minutes this season as well. Just get us to 3-0 here and get Randle back first, then McBride comes back a game after that, and then we'll have to wait 3 more weeks for Jamar.

DJ White can't stay out of foul trouble again, and that's against an undersized Butler team. Pruitt is going to be licking his chops against DJ on the offensive end.
Wilmont, Calloway, White, and Bassett are pretty good players. White and Calloway are definitely their go-to-guys. But outside of that, yuck. Two big white guys I've been severly unimpressed with. And the other players they have, have struggled so far as well.
The secret to beating IU. Attack White all day long, pressure defense, and run them all day long. Because their guys sdo not get back, especially their bigs.

Wright, Ellington, Lawson are much better than May, Felton, McCants. If UNC doesn't win a national championship this year or next I'd be amazed. Add those 3 great FM to Hansbrough, Terry, Green, Ginyard, Frasor, Miller and you have the most talented team in the country. By the time the tourney comes around UNC is going to be ready for any game.
For having the most talented team in the country, Bucknell sure gave you a hell of a run. Yes they are a solid mid major program but they arent suppose to be in UNC's league.
A lot of highly ranked teams are looking bad against their early season cupcake opponents, I already think this March Madness is primed to be upset happy.

Well it was Winthrop not Bucknell. I'll guarantee you also that Winthrop makes it to at least the 2nd round of the tourney this year. Also, UNC starts and plays all freshmen and sophmore so it is going to take more than 2 games to get their chemistry together. They have the most talent though which is going to get them through a lot of close games early in the season.

Kansas State runs over Rutgers in New Jersey. Way to go Huggins (2-0) I love it. He is the man.
Rutgers Bball right now is a bad state so I wouldn't get too excited over the win. Rutgers lost Douby to the NBA and Fred Hill is just starting to put the pieces back together since this is his first year as coach.

I really believe this trio of freshmen is more talented than the Dougherty trio. For sure it is. Felton, McCants, and may all needed to develop a lot. Wright needs a little fine tuning but looks NBA ready. Ellington reminds me soooooo much of felton. Lawson will be great too. Not to Mention Hansbrough could win the wooden award, and Bobby Frasor is solid too, and there is the senior leadership with Reyshawn Terry.

I think Terry is going to have sort of a down year compared to last year. They needed him to do alot more last year than he'll have to do this year. Wright has some handle on him for a big man.

Its definitely a good group, And I'm loving their chances this year
Still, McCants was possibly my favorite college player ever

At 200 lb's hed be eaten alive in the post in the NBA.
how are the Illini doing?
they are 2-0 they beat Jackson State last night, while missing Brian Randle, Jamar Smith and Rich McBride. They have been pretty good. Chester Fraizer looks to be a solid PG. With Jamar out for 4-6 weeks that hurts at SG but McBride will be back in two games, until then look for Trent Meacham and Calvin Brock to log minutes there. The front court should be pretty good though with Shaun Pruitt and Warren Carter. Look out for Brain Carwell he should be good.

Played a great game against Austin Peay in their first game and won by 45.
Last night they played a crappy 1st half, but missing 3 starters you can see why that happened. When they turned it on against Jackson State it wasn't even close.
Frazier is a stud. Just needs to limit TO's and improve his free throw shooting which will both come with time. You want to see 40 minutes of non-stop intensity, watch this kid play.
Once we get Randle, Smith, and McBride back; we'll be a scary team.

Ok cards; but you asked for it.
You guys are just plain bad. There's no way around it. Sampscum's style of play is terrible. Which is why you guys are struggling offensively in long stretches. You praud up and down the court and you get no flow going. With guys like White, Wilmont, and Calloway you should not be doing as bad as you are (you could be 0-3 very easily). Ugh it's like watching paint dry with his offense.
You have no bench whatsoever. Your backup bigs are terrible and if DJ goes out; you're like a soft mid-major team. I think unless something changes you guys are in for a long, long conference season. Sampson is not going to last in the Big 10. I hate his style of play and IMO he's not as good as people made him out to be. He should have done more in Okie with the talent he brought in. He's going to nothing but give controversy to that school with his past sanctions; and he's a selfless piece of crap. My friends who are IU fans hated the hiring.
I respect the tradition and the university (even though I can't stand your school) and it really pained me to see them hire Sanctions.

This is not a homer comment but Illinois will be and should be right now a top 25 team. We're 4-0 without 3 of our top players. Our depth is going to be insane this season. Brock and Meacham have been putting up about 15ppg this season; Frazier is 40 minutes of hustle, Carter could start for a lot of teams in the nation, and Carlwell/Semrau are very good looking freshman. Put those guys along with All-Freshman selection Jamar Smith, Wooden candidate Brian Randle, and All Big 10 potential selcetion Rich McBride and we're going to be a dangerous team.

they are going no where in the ACC.I know this. But hopefully we can atleast get in the tournament this year.
Oh I beg to differ. They're going to surprise a lot of people in the ACC, an I'll predict a top 3 finish this year from them. Strawberry and Ebekwe are studs. They've got some talent off the pine and I like Vazques, their freshman PG.
This team is legit. Can't wait to see them play Illinois in THE HALL in about a week. :D
The only bump in the road for this team will be offensive consistency; but other then that they've got some players.
Why would Illinois and Maryland be playing in Bloomington?

Don't even compare your Assembly Hall to ours. We have arguably the biggest home court advantage in all the land!
Finally I get to see one of my team's games on TV. Marquette-Duke on ESPN2 in 7 minutes.

The greatness that is Duke.
And glad to see Ga Tech win. I'm assuming they'll play UCLA with the way things are going. That's going to be a heck of a game.
I'm loving this Duke/Marquette game though. They're playing like its March.

The Pac-10 is going to be amazing this year. UCLA, Stanford, Arizona, and Washington have tons of talent, and Oregon's a major sleeper. USC might be too.

Oh *********** James is hurt.
The cramp bug got him. He'll be ok. Marquette needs to learn how to shoot free throws.
Oh and Dickie V already making excuses for Duke losing early in the season. Hey Dickie V, maybe just maybe they aren't as good as you think they are. Think about it. Because they aren't that good this season.

As an Illini fan watching Duke lose is almost, almost as great as seeing Iowa or Indiana lose.
