That Atlanta Hawks Select:
PG, Javaris Crittenton. Year after year Hawks have passed on a franchise PG but no more. Crittenton is a local boy and an amazing prospect. I had him as my #1 PG in the draft and most scouts has have him as #2 over Acie. He has amazing height at 6-5, and he is a freak athlete who can distribute, score, and rebound, and defend.

05-18-2007, 06:31 PM

05-18-2007, 06:40 PM
The Charlotte Bobcats add:
PG/SG/SF, Derrick Byars. SEC player of the year may favorite player in the draft outside of Jeff Green. He is so valueble for us cause he can play the 3 guard positions. I like Byars slightly more than Brandon Roy, maybe a little biased because Byars went to Virginia but he is a hell of a well rounder player. Byars can play the 2 and 3 positions and in limited minutes the 1. He has an NBA ready body and can pass, shoot, and play great defense as well as attack the rim. He has great range and rotation on his 3 point shot, I always said that Byars is the kind of player who will find his way on a championship contending team as teams fear him as he is a player who stayed the dreaded 4 years in college or in his case 5, but if you look at the prospect as a whole Byars is arguable one of the top if not the top shooting guard prospects in this draft, if the draft weren't so top heavy in talent this year, in any other year Byars would be a top 10 pick.

"The perfect player for NellieBall. The road to the playoffs began with players who were great fits in this offense. After missing out on a few other players, this was an easy pick. He should do well with the Dubs."

05-18-2007, 08:15 PM
The Atlanta Hawks Select:
PF/C, Sean Williams. One of the best Shot Blockers I have ever seen, he will reign terror all over the court for the Hawks swatting shots away. Averaged over 5 bpg in his college career and will immediately be one of the best defenders in the NBA.

05-18-2007, 08:34 PM
San Antonio selects Pitt Center Aaron Gray

05-18-2007, 08:40 PM
Portland Trailblazers select:
SF/PF, Avis Wyatt, Virginia State University. I know Shock!!!, everyone will say reach here but Avis Wyatt is an amazing player who I have watched the past 4 years. He is the most underrated player in the draft. He is tall has unreal hops and is an amazing shooter. He blocks shots and can rebound and post up. He is a mix of Dirk Nowitzki and Josh Smith, watch out for him you will know him soon. If he went to a big college he would be a top 15 pick. He has that much talent. He is one of the top shot blockers in the entire draft.

05-18-2007, 08:43 PM
The Atlanta Hawks Select:
SG, Morris Almond, Rice. He should have never dropped this far. If he went to a big school he would be a top 10 pick. He has an NBA body great size and was the best scorer in college basketball the past 2 years. He has all of the skills and physical tools to be a star in the league, he is also a very underrated passer. I actually like NBADRAFT.net's comparison of him to Michael Redd but he is much more athletic.

With the 57th pick, the Detroit Pistons make their only selection of the draft and make it count with local boy Ryvon Covile, from the Detroit Titans. The 6-10, 250 pound Ryvon is a relative unknown prospect, but our scouts have watched him his whole career. He's a hard nosed fighter who will do the dirty work and outmuscle guys in the paint, block shots and grab boards like no other. Like Big Ben, but with a shot. Comprises everything Detroit Basketball represents.

Portsmouth Invitational
Arguably the best performance from day three of the PIT was Ryvon Covile’s excellent 16 point, 18 rebound outing. Covile showed off a really nice combination of skills from inside and out, draining shots from all over the floor and finishing very strong around the basket. His outside shot looked great, knocking down most of his looks from 16, 17 and 18 feet on numerous occasions and even hitting a college 3-pointer when dared to. In the post, he took the ball really strong to the basket and finished well, although his touch on more advanced post moves could still stand to improve. He was extremely aggressive on all of his moves, playing smart and hard and not being afraid in the least bit to take contact while making his way to the rim.

On the glass, Covile was absolutely terrific as his 18 rebounds might indicate. He has great strength and plenty of drive to go after anything that is even remotely in his area. After the game his father told us that battling with the #1 rebounder in the country (Rashad Jones-Jennings) being the #3 rebounder in the country himself gave him plenty of motivation to go out there and show the scouts what he can do. That was clearly the case and then some as both bruisers were out there looking for blood, and we obviously enjoyed every moment of it.
