I do not have a link yet, but Fanball is reporting that LeCharles Bentley is set to undergo a debridement and repair on his torn patellar tendon on June 4. The team scheduled him for surgery 2 weeks away because Bentley hasn't decided whether he will do the surgery or to try and grind it out this year. If Bentley has the surgery, he will be out another year rehabbing. When a link comes on a major site, I will post it.

It seems like his career over.

What an OL the Browns would have if he was healthy though.

Bentley / Thomas / Steinbach

That is two surgeries on his knee in 2 years. Seems like the Browns expect him back in 2008 at least because they paid him a roster bonus last month.

At least Jamal Lewis will get 2,000 rushing.

It's a sad day when a tosuer is hurt

I wonder what will happen to Joe Thomas and Brady. I hope it's interesting, in a train wreck sort of way.

Maybe if you add up his totals for the next 5 years.

I just snorted loud enough to attract attention from my boss.

The Browns still have Hank Fraley, right? He's a servicable center. He has good technique and can do the job.

ALWAYS sad to see a great, young, player get hurt, especially a Buckeye. Then again he is a Brown though.

If Bentleys career was anywhere near in jeapordy do you honestly think the Browns would have allready agreed to pay his salary in full this season knowing he wont play?

This was reported a LONG time ago that he was supposed to have a second surgery, and that he was rehabbing to get his leg strong enough to have the second surgery.

I hope for Bentley's sake that this won't hamper him for the rest of his life, and as a Browns fan I hope he is strong enough to play again, but I don't want to see him come back just to get hurt again because Bentley as a person is a huge Browns fans and there was a story a while back about how he was about to do a commercial and actually was crying because his dream had come true and reality sunk in that he was finally with the Browns (tears of joy before you all rip on me :) ) I hope he makes it back, but if he chooses to hang it up everyone should understand why.

Fraley is definitely a serviceable center and should be fine anchoring the Browns O-line while Bentley recuperates. When Bentley returns, Fraley can move over to OG. It should not be that big of a deal, the only problem is how Bentley recovers form the surgery and how he performs post-surgery.

Do I think the Browns would do something stupid?

Umm.....

this is such a hit, im not even mad that he's a brown and got hurt, im more mad that he is young and has so much talent. i hate seeing things like this such as injuries or bad descions, i.e lawrence phillips. if i could quote one of my favorite movies, a bronx tale, "the worst thing in the world is wasted talent".

i really hope he comes back, but its doubtful
