He is the starting FB for the Brown's most likely and I think he will do fairly well this year, but nothing great.

A lot more than last year because he's the starting fullback. Will get more than Terrelle Smith rushing and receiving because he's more of that kinda guy.

He had a great Senior season with Colorado and so did Joel Klatt and Joe Klopfenstein he'll be a top FB in the future maybe even the best cuz he can do it all Block,Run,Catch.

I wanted the Bucs to draft him but Cleveland took him. He is a powerful runner that can blow up Linebackers in the gaps.

He will be one of the best in less than 3 years.

BTW why isn't this in the NFL forum? He is in the NFL.

Brady Quinn is excellent in the short and intermediate passing game, and we're gonna have an "attacking offense," so Vickers should get some good work as a receiver. I like his potential as a Justin Griffith type player.

Thinking I was hot sh!t calling out Vets and Legends when I first joined the board. Got burned in the process, put in my place, and here I am.

He is kind of a poor man's greg Jones running the ball, and has Larry Centers like skills out of the backfield.

Needs to develope more as a blocker, but in this era of the FB he could be one of the best in a couple years.

All FBs get better at blocking the longer their careers go on. His will too.

I would compare him more to a Chris Cooley, but i still believe in the next few years he could get 300 - 600 recieving yards and 300 - 400 rushing yards depending on how well Jamal Lewis does. Vickers and Winslow should be great saftey blankets to develope Quinn

I was under the impression (although it depends on how the position battles shake out) that Alan Richard would get a lot of playing time at fullback, rather than Vickers. I know the coaches like Vickers and his potential, but the upside with Richard is he was Lewis' blocking fullback with Baltimore and could be a key part in getting the running game going this season.

I agree, Vickers will not start and will be used as a H-back in passing situations. He's not a good enough blocker to start for Cleveland but he could be really effrective as a part time receiving threat on passing downs.

I cant find it, but Vickers highlight film at Colorado was rediculous. He would break 20 plus yard runs going up the middle. He would barrell over any runner that came near him and was one of, if not the best goal line back in all of college. He actual has a little wiggle and juking ability that really makes him hard to bring down. He catches the ball like Cooley from the Redskins. Hes not a very good blocker yet and thats really his only weakness.

We released Terrell Smith who has blocker for 1,000 yard rushers 6 years straight, and even 1 year for Cleveland just so Vickers could take over. Ricart wasnt even in the league last year and Savage said hes not a gaurantee to make the roster.

Considering what the Browns have at running back this year, I would expect Lawrence Vickers to become a contributor in that offense, they cant expect too much from Jamal Lewis and Jerome Harrison.

I'm very high on Vickers and I expect him to do well this year, although without Carthon he won't have as many pass attempts :(
