View Full Version : What's In a Name

I think we've done this before but it hasn't been a while. A lot of ours are self-explanatory but I'd like to know what some of your guys' names mean. For instance Xiomera and BUSTKUNTAWL.

Well I'll start: I'm a Bears fan and my favorite player is Walter Payton, pretty easy to grasp.

I'll give you a hint. I don't live in Boston.

Flyboy
05-20-2007, 06:33 PM
I just posted this last night at another sporting forum that I post at. Odd. I'll just copy and paste.

Anyhow, my username is semi-********. Back when I first had access to the Internet (through WebTV OMG), I was in an e-fed (back when I actually watched wrestling) and needed to come up a name for my character. This was also around the same time that the song "Pretty Fly For A White Guy" was insanely popular so I was all witty and came up with 'Flyboy' for my character's name. Been using it ever since.

EDIT: Apparently, you can't say mentally handicap at NFLDC.

I found a random Seahawks player and used their name. Marcus Tubbs.

My last name is Dzera. I was at a baseball camp run by the varsity coach in town the summer between seventh grade and eighth grade I believe. Anyway, during roll call he said "Chris Derza" instead of "Chris Dzera". A bunch of kids I played with found it hilarious and started calling me Derza, then some friends caught on, and now I'm basically known as Derza to everyone in my school except my girlfriend. The 222 is for my birthday, February 22.

Draftguru because it's a draft site and I like the word guru, and the 151 remains a mystery to all but one user, and I use that for everything.

And no it doesn't have anything to do with alcohol.

It's the abreviation of Green Bay and then 12. The 12 has nothing to do with Aaron Rodgers, it's just a number that I use in accounts where there are like 10000000000 people on so you have to add numbers and **** to your name. I had to register to post something and that was the first name I thought of.

In the absence of capitals, it doesn't appear to be an acronym, which results in a user trying to pronounce it ("twin drums" is what I get), followed by a more understandable acronym: "WTF?"

Anyway, I'm from NY and live in area code 10804. Furthermore, ny10804 looks more attractive than NY10804, but that's just me.

Yeah, and add in the fact that it has no vowels and then you're just throwing a bigger loop into pronunciation. It's no wonder I got referred to as twiddler, twiddle thumbs, twi drum bus, and guy with lots of letters...

I was born without a sense of humor.

and I was the lucky one, my sister was born without a brain, honestly, that girl couldn't make an intelligent statement to save her life .

I'll say "I'm hung like Shamu." and maybe people will believe me.

I'm a big Omar fan too...Hated the day he went to San Fran.

I really thought, and still think, Cleveland should have kept him.

I hated it but San Fran was my second favorite team back then. Cleveland kinda dropped for me because there was no one left for me to root for. It was all a buncha nobodies. Yeah Cleveland shoulda kept him. I went to a Giants game once and I got Omar to sign my jersey and while he was signing it my dad asked him to come back to Cleveland and they need him. He said "No way." like they treated him bad. Kinda made me sad.

Yeah, I don't think Omar liked it in Cleveland much...His autograph was rare when he was on the Tribe.

I bought his book, and tried like hell to get it signed to no prevail. I'm really jealous of your auto'd jersey...LOL.

Anyways, are you moving to Cleveland? Your location says 42 days till Cleveland or something close to it. Moving, visiting, etc...

My internet alias came into existence, I'd say, 4 or 5 years ago. I was picking out a AIM name and in the course of asking some people what they thought it should be the words Paranoid Moon Duck were uttered.

I liked it so much that I still use it to this day.

My name was given to me from the god of the rain. It means in literal translation: Space Ghost. Meaning that I am a ghost in space. I am a superhero who can teleport and shoot lasers from my wrist guards. I have my own show with this dude named Moltar and this weird ass guy who is like a preying mantis or some **** named Zorak. Theres this little dude named Brak who is there sometimes too.

My name came from my football team. When the movie Friday Night Lights came out, I guess not only do i resemble Billingsley, but I am a redneck, beer loving, pickup truck driving, partying animal, country listening to music guy. Just for the record I have only two belt buckles and they are of the state of Texas (Im sure youve seen it, the shape of the state, a longhorn and the words TEXAS, all in red, white and blue, and the confederate flag.

Thats how my name cam along. Not to mention that I guess since then I hae always worn #26 to. That is what I am known is. BILLINGSLEY!

I think he liked it in Cleveland but I don't think he liked the way he was shipped out.

Yeah, I read his book and this smaller book. I actually was up in San Fran to visit my cousins, aunt and uncle and the Giants were playing the Rockies. Garrett Atkins went to my high school and I got his autograph and then we went to the third base dugout before the game started. I had my Indians jersey and my dad had his hat. We both got them signed. I didn't know what to say when Omar came. I was just shocked and I was like "This is Omar Vizquel."

I'm visiting Cleveland on July 2nd for a week. We're going to have a family reunion. My dad has 6 siblings and I have a total of 17 cousins or something like that. This is going to be the 1st time we're all together at the same time. I wish I was moving...

Yeah, I was pissed off that they would get rid of so many leaders and names of that team for random prospects that do/did jack. I'm glad that their rebuilding thing worked...although it took like 7 years to do. Once Omar retires I'm going back with the Indians.

Well you see the story of my name is derived from this man named Vince Lombardi , who was an absolute stud. He and many of the people who came before him lead the little town of Green Bay to become the home of the professional football team with the most championships. Hence, titletown.

everything is fictional. We are all submitted into this huge computersystem and it affects our brain. In reality the world is in the year 3900 and 7 foot chicken rule this earth. They have trained us to lay eggs and have turned us into little omelet factories.

Hey, okay, I'm typing this out now.

Alright, so when Invader Zim came around, it's ridiculous randomness affected my personality a lot. (I was in 4th grade at the time.) So I started saying random **** all the time in school, and when I joined my first forum (a Zim one) I chose the username Beans, which was what I had been saying a lot recently. Then I joined a PPG Forum, and I chose the name Dooma, which is just a weird pronunciation of the 'Megadoomer' from the same episode of Zim. Then I combined them.
