Who is your guys favourite Sports Writers. Personally mine is Bill Simmons, he always seems to incorporate good humour and information into his column/blog.

I love "Now I Can Die In Peace"; I was hoping to do something like that with the Colts but they had to win the SB. I can wait for the Phillies I guess.

Simmons, Mike Sielski, Hunter Thompson is/was a badass, not many great writers.

I don't particularly have a favorite, but I can say with absolute certainty that Jamele Hill is the worst sports writer EVER.

Gary Smith, who used to write a whole lot more for SI than he does these days, is easily the best sports writer alive today.

Steve Rushin - Sports Illustrated.

I always enjoy reading Rick Reilly's articles.

Peter King is the worst, who cares after that? Oh wait, there's also Don Banks & Pete Prisco to challenge for the crown.

Gary Smith is awesome. Mitch Albom is a great writer, I dunno what's up or down with his ears.

when chuck klostermann write and stays on topic, it's awesome.

I think Jason Whitlock is one of my favorites, if for no other reason than the column he wrote on the Imus situation.

Reilly is good too, I like his Federer piece last month and he is usually a good blend of offbeat humor and facts.

Rick Riley easy the worst is that chick who said Boxing was killed and Baseball and Basketball shouldn't be sports and that Football was an "ok" sport.

i like Rick Reilly's columns in SI

05-22-2007, 12:38 AM
How much of Reilly's articles are really sports writing? No offense to the guy, because he is an entertaining writer, but his pieces are like the "Ms. Manners" of sports journalism, and they follow a pretty rigid and boring pattern.

I hate Mike Preston with a passion, but I don't think I have a favorite sports writer......

05-22-2007, 01:09 AM
Rick Reilly and Mike Lupica.

Those are my two favorites as well

Although I'll admit I don't read much of him, I extremely enjoy anything Bob Ryan has to say. Whether it was on Around the Horn, Sports Reporters, or just on radio interviews.
