Jets sign DE Eric Hicks

Less than a month after being released by the Kansas City Chiefs (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/teams/kan/;_ylt=Ak6VuYsomLKKxv4yjIHH5yULubYF), Eric Hicks (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/4535/;_ylt=AjEHNNSGyKDflDLSvb6CiVILubYF) has found a new home.

The veteran defensive end signed with the New York Jets (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/teams/nyj/;_ylt=AjCWbBX77.OJGej5X1BlAlYLubYF) on Tuesday.
Hicks joins the Jets after being released by the Kansas City Chiefs on May 1.

What can you tell us about him?

was a unhdrafted FA from Maryland and had a big season.was bumped out of a job when we drafted Tamba last year.He is going to give you a great veteran prescense in the locker room

What can you tell us about him?

He was a solid starter for years but never a great DE IMO the great Chiefs D's of the 90's made him look better then he was. That being said not a bad back up and could help younger guys good locker room guy and team player hard worker his age has just caught up with him.

this move really makes no sense to me....instead of signing so much depth at DE why don't we go for secondary or WR or O-line; not all these guys will see the field.
