What's up with them? Where are they picking this year?

SInce Haywood is expected (actually he's pretty much gone) to leave, our only glaring place of need is that nice defensive centerpiece.

And what ever happened to that foreign dude we took last year? I heard he was killin people over in the european leagues. Hopefully this year we can get somebody who provides help sooner though.

We pick 16th. IMO in such a depth lacking draft we pick BPA, we could use talent at any position. Hopefully Juan Carlos Navarro will sign with us and I am expecting last years first rounder Oleskiy Pecherov to come over too. Veremeenko will come for summer league but don't expect much out of him. Pecherov has been dominating in Europe but he isn't playing a good pro league. That's why I thought he was better off in the D-league or on the bench developing and not overseas where he wasn't facing top competition.

I see a lot of people picking us to take Jason Smith out of CSU.

Looks like a big man, who has a decent midrange jumper. But we really just need a defensive specialist down there.

We need a low post scorer down low even more. Etan is a could defender as is Ruffin the problem is that Jamison is playing the 4 and is a defensive liability. Latest rumors are we are talking trade of Zach Randolph for Antawn Jamison. I would love this despite some questionable attitude issues, Randolph is a legit allstar and went for 23 and 11 last season. He would give us our best rebounder and a guy we can throw it into down low. He is much cheaper than say Jermaine Oneal who is older, more injury prone, and would probably cost us Jamison, Haywood, Jarvis, and a first rounder. As far as the draft I would like another swingman which would help out great like Derrick Byars or Nick Young or Thad Young. Don't forget Oleskiy Pecherov is most likely coming next season.

Well guess I was right about Nick Young, Mcguire was also a great pick, he will help us out like crazy on defense, if he stayed 1 more year in college he could have been a top 10 pick.

I'm not thrilled with the Young pick. Value wise, he's great but he's not really what we needed. He should help giving another option outside of the big 3. Defensively, he's nothing amazing which is what we needed. But I don't blame them for going BPA for Young.

McGuire should help on defense, don't know much about him but he was BPA at the moment as well. At least he's a defensive minded guy.

I heard Pecherov, last years first round pick, should be getting some consideration this year. He's a down low scoring threat, but not really a defensive guy. He's got range for a bigman though.

He gives us a starting 2 guard since Deshawn is probably gone I can't see any better pick, he is a legit lottery talent who can score, play D, and is versatile. There was no good big available. McGuire should be great, a freak athlete, and amazing rebounder and shot blocker for his position. Should thrive running up and down.

Oh yeah forgot about Deshawn leaving.

Outside the top 10, this draft was very week for big men. Sucks, thats what we need the most.

Yeah, hopefully Pesh will be atleast solid, and with Blatche hopefully staying and developing and having Songaila a full year things should be good. If we keep Juan Carlos Navarro, we should package Antonio Daniels, Brendan Haywood, and next years first rounder for a true big. That would take us the next level and more if some of our youngsters develop.
