in '07 you could find it in Team Info it was a status bar which went from red to orange to yellow to green... if it's gone I'll be happy.

Team Prestige was useless. You could clear all your cap penalties and it would drop your prestige to zero. However, you could build it almost all the way up after just one season. IIRC, it was only used to help sign FA.

wouldn't even drop to zero, it'd just drop a bit usually after a few rivalry games won you'd have all of it back. It was a silly thing to do, and I'd be glad if they took it off.

tackles always get better when you move them inside. He'll go up more when moved to center. (in the game, not IRL)

Jumping the snap is way better on Madden than on NCAA. It works way better when you can press in the right stick.

Have you guys noticed how hard it is to pass, the fing AI controlled dbs, destroy anything thrown there way, no matter what receiver it is, or how accurate the ball is, granted they are good when there on your team as well, but i think they turned up the difficulty way too high for pass defense.

I simulated a fantasy season, and the Superbowl was Tampa Bay vs Oakland.

TB had Jeff Garcia and Oakland had Culpepper as their starting QBs O.o

Some minor complaints I have. I have mostly played online so it will deal with that.

1. Reggie Bush is far far too difficult to tackle. I know he is difficult to get too in real because of his speed, but when someone gets their hands on him in real life they tackle him. He slips out of almost every tackle unless it is a "Brick Wall Defender", "Big Hitter", or some other defensive weapon that helps tackling.

2. Every kickoff goes booming at least halfway through the endzone.

3. Defense is not given enough time to pick a play.

4. Too many RB's have the "Power" or "Elusive" weapon. It's just my opinion, but I feel these weapons should be awarded to the elite of the elite. I would personally only have about 15 or so RB's with one of those weapons. Basically I am tired of my best LB, Dline, and DB's getting "eluded" by mediocre backs when they have them in their grasp, or a Dlineman or LB getting "trucked" by someone like Maurice Jones-Drew. He may be able to push the defender forward, but someone of his size is not going to bowl over a DT. I'm sorry, thats not going to happen.

All in all though, excellent game. The only thing that really really annoys me is how easily Reggie Bush slips away from tackles. Go compare the attributes that are important for RB's between Bush and Barry Sanders (in the Hall of Fame section). They are virtually the same, call me crazy, but Bush has more to prove to me before he should be virtually the same player as Barry Sanders. And let's not let this turn into a Jones-Drew or Bush supporter thread, I am just being realistic with those complaints, not knocking the players.

You cant stop in the middle of the route. If you hit the defender at all they are gonna throw the flag.

I think everyone seems a bit slower. Actually, I'm not so sure that it everyone is slower, I think that everyone's speed (regardless of ratings) is much closer.

Example- If Jackson or Holt breaks one for me, LB's won't gain on them, but they won't fall away incredibly quickly.

I kinda like it like this, because the difference between a 4.4 40 and a 4.9 40 is not a ton. I know there is a significant difference, but if you were to watch someone run a 4.9 40 you would not think, "Man, that guy is slow." So the difference between a 4.5 LB and a 4.4 RB or WR should be barily noticable if they are both running straight.

just got the game today on 360. offence is hard at first but i got used to it. defence is much easier. when u play ranked dont run the ball never works

Defense is way too easy...the cpu throws so many picks...the curls are so slow, they give you so much time to just jump in front of the intended receiver and pick it off...and if you get the pick on a curl...you're probably taking it to the house. Offense, so far, I've played 2 series I was like 5-6 passing for so and so yards and two tds. Maybe it's just because, it was on all-pro but, not too impressed thus far...when i first started playing the new NCAA...I was winning but, that game was kicking my ass. Madden seems really, really easy thus far.

Lots of the players career stats are messed up...Apparently, Terry Glenn caught 10 passes for 1,000+ yards last year and Dan Campbell was still on the Cowboys. Also, what the hell is w/ the ages in this game...? So, many mistakes. Okay, last thing...some of these FA's havent been in or around football for years...Tim Seder? First his age is wrong by like 3 years and he's been out of the league for 5 years. No joke, it just seems like a copy and paste job and they didnt update some of the ages. Very lackluster job.

If you've made alot of trades of just for some reason have alot of cap penalties then fill ur roster and say if you need to sign 5 guys sign 3 for more money then asked, after u sign those 3 make sure u have .1 or a very small smount of cap left over. Even though you still need to sign 2 more guys. Then start simming the season it'll say you do not have enough of (position) and click computer sign and they should get rid of your cap penalties.

Just try to get through the off-season any way you can, either trade your star player for a draft pick or release an overpaid player or two. I'd just sign your 1st and 2nd round picks the other picks don't end up being good anyways.

yea dude same thing happend with me (for me) i was playin the raiiiders with broncos, russell passes it out to porter who wasnt wide open covered by champ, champ doesnt see it, whips around and simeltaneosly picks it. hey no complaints there. but i could never complete a pass to brandon marshall who im pretty sure asomugha was covering. walker had like 190 yds for me tho. another thing i noticed is how fast the gameplay is. you hardly have time to react to the ball plus in my case i just got an xbox 360 its hard enough learning new controls. but im gettin the hang of it.

I actually like it for the PS2 version. The tackling suquences are a lot cooler and everything seems smoother. I love the new hit stick where you take out the legs. My only problem is the WRs and CBs. They are huge. If you go into their appearance they all have their overall size jacked up all the way. They look a bit silly.

Ummm, I am happy with the game. Maybe because im playing on 360, I see that PS3 got marginally lower rankings. So thats probably where a lot of your complaints are coming from. But in comparison to last year this game is so much better, the franchise has been retooled, the gameplay is smoother/cleaner, the new animations are great, im still getting used to the player weapons but those are also pretty sweet, they brought back the fantasy draft, overall I couldnt expect much more, theres no such thing as a perfect game.

i'm satisfied with the game........no real beefs here.

shutdown corner problems?? hmm, use the counter weapon, or here is an idea, don't throw to the guy who's being covered.........like in real life.

fumble problems? don't try to do moves everytime in traffic. cover up the ball to hold it better.

to many ints? run more. use play-action. lower the catch attribute for game settings. play better/worse teams. Or, just don't throw the ball into the coverage. learn from ur mistakes.

no game is ever going to be perfect, but lots of what people are complaining about can be solved or are more related to them not playing effectively. people here know football, and sure there may be a few things that are annoying, but u can at least minimize the occurence of those events by playing smarter.

You can make it so you could play on all madden but for example if you are having a really hard time running the ball you could raise the RB ability / Run blocking sliders for you, and lower the "break block" slider for the cpu, there are a whole bunch like int / pass blocking / kick powrer / QB accuracy etc... and you could find a happy medium between All-Pro and All-Madden.

The worst glitch I've had is with my fantasy team, I scored a TD with Sidney Rice and then when I got back on D he lined up at CB for no reason. That is a pretty bad glitch but it only ever happened to me once. (I think)

I have a PS3 as well and no im not having those problems it happened alot in the PS2 Madden but so far in PS3 madden 07 and 08 it hasnt happend thank god. Im 7-1 on level 3 for online and i made it to the second ring level with over 100,000 points.

im lovin it. new game/new platform is killer. graphics are a huge upgrade. the weapons make it realistic, but at the same time make it more difficult and in turn more frustrating. it seems like with 5 min qtrs on pro i dont get in as many off plays as i did on 07/gamecube.. idk maybe. the spect catch receiver totally dominates and a shutdown corner is damn near guranteed a pick every game you play in. so the broncos are a good team to play with.

i like how you can train the active players for the week. when do those attributes get added and are they permanent?

You have to have a fast back, and search for holes anywhere, alot of times i find my self running straight backwards away from the d right when the ball is snaped and loop around to get to a hole.

Shutdown corners are pretty hard to beat, champ picks everything near him.

There is no "training camp" but there is a train active team option. So you do drills and increase there overall during the season. My friend it's a perminant increase but I'm not sure.

it is dude. with travis henry i would have a very ocasional very rare 16 yd run. otherwise i would get stopped in the backfield, (also i fumbled a lot) grab a few yds. i did the minigame challenge on the RB drill, set it so i had n elusive back.. i wold hit the highlight stick but i would always get tackled, should i be hittin it a tad bit earlier or what

I was having trouble running the ball on NCAA and Madden, but I eventually learned to just wait for my blocks. I also run mostly in I-formation, but if I run in single-back, I do it in a 3 or 4 WR set, so the defense is expecting a pass.

Hoops man, if you're not importing from NCAA, you should trade ur picks for some good players. Usually the draft Madden has(atleast in past years) has players in the 70's as the highest usually, and second rounders are very low.

no, but if u go into settings there is a Weapons option and there is a list of options that are turned to 'off' and u have to switch them back to on......

u can scout rookies in the game during the season, is sort of tedious, but u can do it.


i'm switching consoles from PS2 to 360 also, and the only thing i'm having problems with is the passing game. Its pretty weak, but i think part of it is that Penningtons arm is so weak that it takes so much longer to get to the reciever that defenders can make a play on the ball.......

The weapons are still in action, the displays of them are just hidden. You can make the weapons visible again by going into the game settings and then the weapons section. The normal setting is to have the weapons visible preplay, but not during the play. Hopefully that helps you out.

I just got it today for the Wii. A few things that bother me are that you don't really use the Wiimote for anything (choosing plays, selecting players), the kicking seems too easy, and I'm never content with the ratings/roster of the Packers. I haven't really figured out the player weapons yet, as I haven't played it much. Also haven't done any online play yet, but I'm looking forward to it.

That just shows you how ****** up the game is. I just played on All-Madden and Champ Bailey returned an interception. However, he broke tackles from my offensive lineman. Also, on All-Madden, the person with the ball will break at least one tackle over the course of the play. Finally, the run and pass games suck. You can't get any pass protection, even if you have the best pass blockers in the game. Also, you can't run for gains of more than 10 yards.

I'm fairly certain you can't, since it'd probably be the way you do it in Play Now games. I was just hoping I was wrong because I just spent a good amount of time making my own plays and putting together a playbook as well as fantasy drafting a team specifically for that playbook.

Yeah, I really enjoyed making my own playbook on Madden 05. Most of it was run plays. Sucks you can't do it on 360.

EA makes the game better but they always miss the little things, i dont know if they do it on purpose to see if people will still buy it or what, hey if u have to delay the game to make it better do it. Look at GTA IV, its good already but they want to make it the Greatest thing ever 6 month delay. For Madden that would be 2 long, but do it untill end of sep or mid way of Sept. I always thought that they would fix the make ur own plays on next gen, i always want to add my own trick plays but never can, thought they would add it to 360 version instead they take it out, i hope the NFL doesn't extend that exclusive contract, for the sake of competition, the NFL should know about competition.

Still when i get my 360 i am going to buy this game and NCAA, 2k should start doing NCAA games to remind people of how good they are at making football games.

So I go to start playing a franchise with a buddy of mine and he loads up my brothers profile thinking we would need the two profiles, then after he leaves I go to just play on my profile only to find that my profile, my ring levels (I was up to the 3rd ring), and all my trophies are gone. I have to create a new profile and start the whole effing thing over. That is one thing that is incredibly stupid on this years version is that you cannot have multiple profiles (don't know why else it would have deleted my original one), no multiple franchises, no multiple superstar franchises. Just the overall menu set up and finding everything took a huge step backwards IMO. hhhhhhhhhh, it is a good game, but if EA would only release the game to about 1000 people early and let them figure out what is wrong with it, it would be sooo much better.

I just played the game tonight with my cousin on xbox at his crib (I'm home now), on all pro (that's what he said, chance it's different for franchise mode) . Started up a fantasy draft franchise. He's the Bears I'm the Packers. I won't tell you our defensive players cause it didn't seem to matter. On offense I got big ben, deangelo williams, kevin jones (injured this game) anquan boldin, ben watson, he's got cutler, mo jo-drew, greg olsen, calvin johnson, robert meachem, ted ginn. Anywho, he beat me 83-80 in 5 minute quarters, I was down by 20 at least 3 times and kept coming back. He had 8 or 9 td's 1 int with cutler, 200 yards receiving for meachem and johnson, just going deep all the time. I had i think 8 td's 4 int's qith big ben. All 8 td's to Boldin with over 350 yards receiving. I mixed it up going deep, middle, short.

Now, the question is, there's no way this happened on all-pro right??? The franchise difficulty must be different than what he has his regular exhibition settings on.

Also didn't think this could happen on any difficulty.

Wow im the Chiefs and in my second time playing the Chargers this season I just beat them 28-0 and held them to 83 total yards. I guess it dont mean nothing since LT was hurt. They only beat me 23-20 when they had LT. LJ is a best in this game.

just started one last nite.. im 3-0.. the key to success really is to have a good run game. i had 2nd overeall pick so i took LT. let me tell you he is a god on that game. for once overall really does make a big diff. anyway. i drafted quinn, calvin johnson, bernard berrian, dwayne jarrett, vernon davis, dj williams, mario williams, derrick johnson, deangelo hall, fabian washington, laron landry and cant remember my other safety. anyway, we kick ass. i think its sean taylor.

I made it to the playoffs as a wildcard and of course I had to play the f'n Chargers for the 3rd time this season. They beat me by 3. Its unfair how LT is just way better then anyone else in this game.

In my first season I had the best rush and pass defense. Just couldnt stop LT. He ducks every tackle and breaks every tackle.

Where is it?

Go under Gameplay Settings, where you can change the game difficulty, and then go to AI. It should say something like Modify under AI.

no u cant switch pos at least on 360.. which kinda sucks cuz i wanted to sign al wilson as a LB n move dj to sam instead of dd lewis or whoever is over there.. oh well oh yeah another thing i noticed, i saw a while ago justin harrell was a 77? hes an 80 on mine..

well ik that.. but i always suck at them is there a way i can do it on rookie or pro it feels like all pro i just did it with scrambling QB he ended up bein a 12 overall lol.. whats the best player type for each position

haha im just playing with ya... but ya i tired and my guy was absolutly terrible.. go to mini games and just practice them until you get better at them.. thats what im doing

Gore/Reggie are monster. If you want a homerun get Bush, consistency get Gore. Both real nice.

Madden once again this year sucks, that didn't even fix the QB glitch(close to 20 QB will have 100 plus rating by the end of regular season). And the INT Glitch, what the hell that is very easy, and there are like 20 RB's with a avg of 5 or more. Also it sucks that you can't export fantasy draft from you franchise for quick play, and why didn't they put practice back in for dynasty mod?? One last thing it sucks that you can't change players positions, thas just stupid....I give this year madden a slight improvement over last, so i give it a 6/10.

Yeah, I'm pissed you can't practice with your Fantasy team. You have no way of knowing what plays are best for your team.
