I only smoke cigars, and only when its a good time.

I'm in the same boat. I smoke black and milds once in a blue moon.

But the principle remains the same. Doing anything because of peer pressure is stupid. Not being weak, just being a complete dumbass.

It is stupid to give up your autonomy simply due to peer pressure, unless it is done with your benefit in mind.

There is a massive difference between quiting a damaging habit and starting aforementioned habit.

Not much of one that I see.

Should someone quit skydiving because it's a damaging habit, or should they continue because they believe it helps them enjoy their time on this planet? The same principles applies to this, and just because you can't see the benefit that smokers perceive they get from smoking doesn't mean there isn't one.

Personal gain and benefit are as subjective as things can possibly get, so trying to make blanket statements concerning them serves little purpose.

peer pressure is everywhere, and you're affected by it just as much as anyone.

I don't have any peers, so for me it's easy.

Everybody is affected differently by outside pressures.

And you have plenty of peers.
