View Full Version : Who is the best receiver?

Just curious what everyones opinion on this is... It is the one position I never see people agree on.

For me, it is Marvin Harrison with TO close behind (when he isn't dropping everything in sight.)

As for Marvin, he is just too consistent for me not to have him as my #1.

when he isnt dropping everything in sight? Gimme any fast/strong WR who isnt dropping anything..and it makes him a good WR. CAtching is part of game.

1. Tory Holt
2. Steve Smith
3. Chad Johnson
4. Marvin Harrison
5. Boldin

Steve Smith is the best WR currently in the NFL. If he was 3 inches taller it would be unanimous.

Remix, when TO is on, hes unstoppable... He broke his finger last year, and he was doing amazing the year he hurt his ankle for the Eagles.

yes but thats going back. its like saying..Randy Moss is the best when hes actually trying and when hes happy.

Steve Smith is just unstoppable. With a better QB, and a solid #2 WR (maybe Jarrett will be that guy), this would be unanimous IMO.

get Deion Branch out of there. are u kidding. He dropped a lot of balls last year and has never gone over 1000 yards

Lee Evans imo is top 5..most underrated..puts up great stats AND per KC Joyner..he led league in almost every metric

Best Receiver imo has to be Marvin Harrison right now. Not only he has great hands and will always get you yards. He is a great Team player and thats why he is #1. Then I'd take Steve Smith.

if u go best all around reciever

(blockin, team player, intangables sp)

then it has to be hines ward

or q

those two are probably the most physical recievers in the game today
and are really team players
and play the game right

1. Marvin Harrison (he may be old but IMO he is still the best)

2. Steve Smith (I think Harrison is the best but not by much, Smith is for real)

3. Chad Johnson (Talks a lot of trash but can always back it up)

4. Torry Holt (Has been a top 5 WR for what seems to be forever)

5. Lee Evans (really fun to watch, true #1 WR and he's only going to get better)

Then it would have to be 2) Charles Johnson 3) Larry Fitz 4) Steve Smith and 5) Marvin Harrison.

After these guys it would have to be, in no particular order:
TO, Randy Moss, Hines Ward, Anquan Boldin and Reggie Wayne.

I vote Chad Johnson. He isnt as dominant as some other receivers in this league like Steve Smith, TO and even Randy Moss can be at times, but he is in his prime and his consistency is incredible.

His consistency is what killed him last year, he seemed to completely dissapear in the big games the Bengals were in. If you look at previous years though you are able to see that he is very capable of being consistent. I think he's #2 and #1 being Steve Smith right now.

I think he meant in terms of yearly production which is true.

But yeah, from a week to week basis he was too inconsistant last year, partially to blame was our OL and Carson starting slow but still in many games he just didn't produce.

I'll go

1. Steve Smith
2. Marvin Harrison
3. Chad Johnson

And he's by far the most likely to blow a wide open catch. Sorry, I want my star WR's to hang on to the ball with regularity, hence why he's down on my list.

TO's antics have made him overrated, because of all the attention he gets and making it easy to say "he's a great receiver, but..."

TO is not in the top ten.

I'd take Harrisons hand's anyday. The man catches balls like 3 yards out of bounds one handed. I'd also take Santana's speed over Randy Moss. Moss maybe be fast for his size, but Santana and Coles are quicker and have better agility.

Marvin Harrison has to be the best. He's consistant, and he has everything you'd ever want in a receiver. Some will say he benefits from having the best QB in the league, but I think he's still the best. He always seems to be open.
