How do you not notice someone walking out the door with a bath tub made of gold?

Im telling you, the workers stole it. Some workers had to be in cahoots to pull this off. They probably removed it, masked in a box, and hauled it out of the place in a handtruck. Its not that difficult if you think about it.

I agree with BBD someone that worked there had to be in on it.

It couldve even been professional thieves who got jobs there, and then stole it. Like that movie with DeNiro and Ed Norton, lol.

There is no way they melted it, but they may have also cut it in pieces for removal. I would imagine $1mm worth of gold is heavy as hell. Workers or professional thieves did this, and it looks like they did a fantastic job of it.

Not really...
The round tub, worth $987,000, is made of 18-karat gold and weighs 176 pounds.

wow... 178 pounds... not quite as heavy as I expected...

Am I the only one here who thinks that silver is prettier than gold?

See, that's why you should always read the article. I thought it was a legit huge tub. This one is not so big. Even so, if it was a 2-man operation, why not cut it in half? Limits suspicion, and you can each melt down the item to get your payoff. I would be very surprised if the tub is still whole.

White gold and platinum are more in style right now. Depends on the item, but I like all of them.

I think they'd want to cut it AFTER they stole it, you don't want to lose any time cutting that thing up... they'll do it afterwards, or maybe they'll just keep it whole and brag about their golden tub to their friends.

first of all, -5 points on your man card for using the word "prettier" to describe fashion items.

second, yes, i agree. i have a silver wedding ring and watch. no gold for this guy.

The tub, flanked by two crane statues, has been a main feature of the hotel's shared bathroom. Visitors can take a dip in the tub, but it is only available a few hours a day "for security reasons," the hotel's Web site said.

Uhh... kind of weird if you ask me.

Gold is a very soft metal. With a blowtorch and some expertise, you can quickly and quietly cut the thing.

Now that I think about it, there would be a mess, though. Still, if it was hotel workers, the mess might be considered part of the cleanup or whatever.

gold is very light and soft.. it would have ben very easy with two big suitcases to steal it

Dammit. I'm at -125 now. They took fifteen points for when I said 'cutie' and using the word 'omigosh' cost me 30...

I need some cool words to get my man-rate up again. I'll just throw some random phrases out

- once we invent robotic vacuüm cleaners, lovers, cooks and washing machines, we will have no need for women.
except for amputees... Gotta love them one-legged chicks
- I hate dr. phil (really, I do)
- oprah too
- *burp* *fart*
- *smells armpits* 'aaaah. I love the smell of sweat in the afternoon'
- *scratches groin area* aaaaahhhhhhh
- use hand just used for scratching to pimp-slap my sister
- Last night I told my girlfriend 'shut op woman, I'm watching the game!'

You used a diaeresis? On one hand, I'm impressed that you used it. On the other and more important hand, it's an incorrect usage.

Yeah... I was glad I remembered the word for that thing anyways... But when it came to spelling it I just used dutch spelling, so in case you were wondering how you spell it in dutch: vacuüm.
