  • Army/Navy/Airforce Prospects

First of all whats the deal if your from one of the military schools. you serve like 2-4 years or something and then you can do what you want? So do they get drafted through the supplemental draft? and are there any good ones. Navy has been sucessful lately so they could have someone

    Sig thanks to Bonekrusher

Anyone at the military academies has a 2 year commitment after they graduate. Any team that drafts them retains their rights for those 2 years

Navy FB Adam Ballard is a solid prospect, probably better than Kyle Eckel was a few years ago.

Air Force LB Drew Fowler is getting a lot of NFL attention

Adam Ballard is the best IMO.

Reggie Campbell is one of my favorite football players ever, but as a prospect too small but if Sproles can make it so can Reg.

I do believe they have a commitment to the military after they graduate from the academy, but their rights can be selected during the draft. Then after their service is over, they can play for the team. Here's an excerpt from Bryce Fisher's, a graduate of Air Force, bio on TitansOnline:

"Acquired by the Titans in a trade with the Seattle Seahawks on Sept. 11, 2007 for an undisclosed draft pick. Fisher originally Joined the Seahawks as an unrestricted free agent March 21, 2005, after spending the previous three seasons with the St. Louis Rams. Was an original 1999 seventh-round (240th overall) draft choice by the Buffalo Bills and joined the Bills after fulfilling two-year commitment to the Air Force. Claimed off of waivers by the Rams September 2, 2002, after playing the 2001 season with Buffalo and going to training camp with the Bills in 2002. A high-effort player who has started 48 of 81 career games totaling 261 tackles and 26.5 sacks"

            Also:

"Born Bryce Alexander Fisher in Renton, Washington. Lettered three years in football and was all-league offensive and defensive lineman at Seattle Prep. Team captain as senior and selected as league’s lineman of the year that season. Completed combat survival training in summer of 1996 and spent two years (1999-00) on active duty with the Air Force. Was at Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO, in 1999 where he worked as recruiter and coached defensive line for JV football team. Worked in 2000 as Vehicle Operations Officer at Pope Air Force Base in Fayetteville, N.C. He and wife Bobbi have two daughters, Jasmine and Morgan."
