  • Why?

I watched the Oregon State-Standford game last saturday...
and i have some questions about some of the prospects?
1.Why arent Doggett,LaRoque and Darlin in the rankings?
2.Why is Dorian Smith so low on your list Scott?and Van Orsow not on there?
3.Why is Bernard so low?I mean he had like 71 yards in the 1st half till he got hurt..

Cause he bases his rankings off of more than one game?

Nobody cares about your stupid fantasy team.

Because Stanford isn't exactly the best team to gauge a player's perfomance against

Stats don't mean everything when measuring pro potential.

Those stats are their Jr. and Senior years combined.

And actually he has 13.5 the past two years..

                    Notables:

                    2007:

                    1 against California

                    2006:
                    1 against Arizona
                    1 against Arizona St.
                    2.5 against Washington

1.Why arent Doggett,LaRoque and Darlin in the rankings?

Doggett doesn't have pro LB size.. he's 6'2 208lbs and runs in the 4.5's. He's got more like Safety size.

Darlin is slow.. SLOW. He has pro size for an ILB at 6'1 247lbs but he runs a 4.88. That was his best spring 40 time, he also dropped a 4.95 and 5.01 this spring as well. With that said he'll likely be a UDFA or 7th rounder at this point but he could be a future if he picks up with a team.

Joey LaRoque.... same thing.. he's slow. He is built for the Will position. However running a high 4.8 40 at 228lbs is not going to make coaches want to draft you.

2.Why is Dorian Smith so low on your list Scott?and Van Orsow not on there?

Dorian Smith is a bit of a tweener. he's 6'2 255lbs and runs in the 4.8's. He could be looked at as a 3-4 OLB.

Van Orsow has potential but again, at 6'3 262lbs and running in the 4.9's he's not really fast either. I think if he were to bulk up a bit he could be a a solid backup DE or even a 3-4 DE. He holds the point well but he's not exactly a great pass rusher by any means.

3.Why is Bernard so low?I mean he had like 71 yards in the 1st half till he got hurt..

Bernard is 5'8 205lbs and runs in the high 4.5's - low 4.6's. He's doesn't make up for his lack of "Pro-size" with speed. So right now he looks to be an after thought.

                      Now with that said...

With Eric Young being done for the season..

Roy Schuenning is my #1 OG this year.
Jeremy Perry is my 1a OG next year (I think he could be a damn good center with some work. My 1b is Duke Robinson of Oklahoma)

I think Cameron Collins is going to be a damn good safety as well

                        OSUBEAVERS.com has the stats

He had 3 against Hawaii They had great OT's last year With Tala Ersa.

                        And my comparison's:
                        Doggett-Prescott Burgess
                        LaRoque-Keith Brooking
                        Darlin-Tedy Bruschi
                        Smith-Phillip Daniels
                        Van Orsow-Aaron Smith

Also I think LaRoque has gotten faster watching his games

                          Ncaa.org has the "NCAA stats"

                          OSUBeavers.com must've forgotten 1 of 2 things.

                          A) an Assisted anything only counts as .5
                          B) that his "3" Sacks against Washington last year was actually 2 Solo 1 assisted.

As for Van Orsow, I don't really see the Aaron Smith resemblance. Smith was 2 inches taller and came out about 20-25 lbs heavier. Though I think Orsow could be a solid 3-4 DE with about a year or 2 on the PS.

As for those comparisons.. the only one I can really see is The Bruschi one.. the others don't really have anything in common.

I see Dorian like daniels in a Pretty good pass rusher but a Good run stopper as well. I think Doggett coud be a hard hitting safety. Are you watching the game?
