  • All-Around RBs

Anyone know what RBs are more NFL ready? As in blocking/ protection and even receiving abilities? I know it's a big issue with most rookies (Norwood still isn't trusted to block) so I'm wondering if any rookie RB is good in that catagory (similar to Joseph Addai a few years ago).

Rashard Mendenhall is the most complete RB in the draft in my opinion

I was going to say the exact same thing. He is a very impressive player, its hard to find weakesses with his game.

I wouldn't be surprised if Mendenhall has the best career out of the RB's (although I expect McFadden to have better individual years). He's a bit underrated right now, even after his big year and all the hype.

I would not doubt it because I did not know he was an all-around runningback, as in he could pass block and catch passes as well as run the ball.

What's the perception of Stewart outside of his ability to rush? Seems like the type of guy that could be considered very NFL ready but I'm not fully up on most college players.

Ray Rice is definitely NFL-ready. The worry with him is with upside.

I kinda wonder the same thing, I haven't gotten a chance to see him play very much. I have, however, gotten to see Tashard play a whole bunch and I think he's a great all around back. He carried the load for Tech, he has decent enough hands for a running back, and he's trusted to pass block. I like him a lot out of the 2nd tier running backs. If he runs something like a 4.5 flat, I could see him going high 2nd round.

Jacob Hester is an excellent blocker and receiver, although he's not the caliber of back that Mendenhall is.

                          I was thinking Hester also

What about Bernard at Oregon St. His coach (according to ESPN) said that teams may not like him, but he'll end up doing very well in the NFL.

Jonathan Stewart and Mendenhall I think are pretty good All Around RB's.
