  • Could there be a CB worth a top 5 pick in April?

I'm just curious because I wonder if the Falcons would have the option of taking a CB with thier top 5 pick if they trade DeAngelo Hall. Could a senior like Mike Jenkins or Leodis McKelvin work thier way up thier current projected rankings? Are there any underclassman who could warrant a top 5 pick?

The only guy I see raising himself to that status is Malcolm Jenkins, if he runs a great 40 time, which is plausible.

ot's possible but I justdon't really see us trading Hall. I haven't seen or heard anything that would make me think he will be traded. I've seen more stuff that makes me think it's a ploy for a bigger contract.

          I don't see it.

Malcolm Jenkins is a 1st rounder and maybe a mid-1st rounder but he's also somewhat of an overhyped media darling. In other words he isn't the elite prospect some tend to make him out to be. In fact, a lot of people think he will be a safety at the next level.

I'm starting to wonder if Ohio State CB's are being overrated in recent years because of John Cooper era guys like Nate Clements, Shawn Springs and Antoine Winfield. I haven't noticed an Ohio State DB come out in recent years and perform all that well in the NFL.

Jenkins is kind of overrated, he's played the entire year with one of the best Dlines Ohio State has put together in some time. Anyone that has ever played DB will tell you how much that helps.

That said, CBs live and die with the combine and its completely plausible Malcom could be selected that high.

If any corner goes that high, the bet here would be Mike Jenkins. That said, after flirting with the idea for a bit, I don't see it. I could see a corner in the 6-10 range, but not top 5, based on the teams there and the players on the board.

Depending on how the coin flips shake out and players fall, I wouldn't be surprised if a Kansas City picking 5th went for Mike Jenkins. He'll have to be very impressive in workouts, but I think the potential is there.

Malcolm Jenkins is the real deal and yes he would be worth a Top 5 pick.

Jenkins is the best corner we've had in Columbus since maybe Winfield (who was only the bets OSU corner in school history). If he has good positional drills and runs the 40 time he says he will run then he could go top 5. It's not like this is a loaded draft like 2006 or 2007, he has plenty of room to move up over some guys. I think he could be a pro bowl corner or an elite free safety in the NFL. He has the skills for both.
