  • Draftguys TV Profiles Thaddeus Coleman, OT, Miss Valley State

This episode of Draftguys TV focuses on our favorite sleeper at the OT position, Thaddeus Coleman from Mississippi Valley State. Demetrius Bell ( is another one of our favorites, but we think Thad has even more upside, and he's farther along than Bell.

When I first met Thad on the sidelines at the Senior Bowl, I thought he was a basketball power forward. He's got that kind of long but solid frame. He's definitely not heavy-legged, but he does need to play lower. Still, when you see how naturally strong he is, and how easy it is for him to move that big frame, you have to think once he gets a real OL coach (he didn't have a position coach in college), someone will teach him how to harness that raw ability. We LOVE his killer instinct, and think his game can be built around that and his physical gifts.

He could be yet another Jason Peters - afterthought on draft day that becomes an anchor left tackle...

I think Thaddeus would be a nice gamble for a team anywhere from the 5th and on. The upside is too tantalizing. Give him a couple years to learn from a good OL coach, and I think he could, at worst, be a solid RT, and perhaps develop into a LT. There's a lot of intriguing raw tackle options in those late rounds.

Big fan of this guy. Great work, as always.
