  • Which center can anchor best against 3-4 nose tackles?

I have read this website and these forums for a couple years now, and have finally decided to participate in the discussion.

My favorite team is in the market for a center to anchor against big 3-4 nose tackles. A versatile player who could also play guard would be ideal.

    What say you, draftniks?

Sounds like Alex Mack to me. Big, physical, nasty, versatile, intelligent. You wouldn't happen to be a Miami fan would you?

Not a Miami fan. The opposite of a Miami fan, actually.

Yeah. Lifelong Bills fan. If we don't shore up our offensive line and find a way to block Wilfork and Jenkins, it won't matter one bit that we brought in that new guy at receiver...whats his name again? T something.

(p.s. its been a long decade.)

Could be a Patriots fan who, like me, saw Dan Koppen get handled by many a noste tackle last year. Plus we could use a RG.

Jason Brown was the guy as a FA this offseason, he is great against big NTs. I would say Mack is the best guy in this draft class.

If I were a Bills fan, I'd think Eric Wood might fit your description very nicely. Especially considering his value outside of round 1.

Cal ran a 3-4, so I think Mack would have experience going against that look/personnel in practice.

Mack is the best C in this class, and would probably be the best help for Buffalo if they decide to go Center. Doubt he's available by the second rounder though, but I agree Eric Wood could be what you are looking for if Mack isn't available...
