  • Draft Discussion - Iowa Prospects

I am a trendsetter. Marvin McNutt, Calloways, Bulaga, Angerer, who else? Sick back up punter!
my scent?...like making love to a lumberjack
<TACKLE> i will ngata give you a bj raji
<+BOE> Scott, with Burfict's character concerns (whether legit or not) you think Pioli would draft him. :D
<+ScottWright> Why not. Baldwin does need a sparring partner...

First off, great thread, thank you for finally making it happen.

Second, we don't have a backup punter, or at least not one officially on roster.

Hopefully this is put to good use.

I'm guessing you may be mocking Told, or Iowa fans in general but I'll take the bait. AJ Edds ranked by some as 2nd or 3rd best Senior OLB doesn't have a lot of tackles because he's usually covering a wide receiver or tight end and does it well. http://web1.ncaa.org/mfb/playerDetai...=312&player=49 . Amari Spievey I'd guess is coming out and will probably go in the 3rd round. I like everything about him as a corner except his straight line speed which might get him moved to FS like C. Godfrey. http://web1.ncaa.org/mfb/playerDetai...=312&player=19 . Tony Moeaki I think will be a good pro TE if he can stay healthy which has been a huge if his entire career and his medical exam will be extremely important to where/if he gets drafted. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/player...layerId=169337 .

        I hear Iowa's backup punter runs a 4.2 flat.

He was mocking Told, and basically just created what was the culmination of all the Iowa prospect threads he created, where everyone would suggest just making an Iowa thread for Told.

I'll play along as well, though.

Honestly, I think Clayborn and Spievey declare. I think most everyone thinks Bulaga will as well, but I think Kirk will talk to him and convince him to stay. I don't think Spievey should leave, mainly because I don't think his stock will be as high as it would be a year from now, but I definitely think Clayborn will cash in on a very successful and high profile season.

No that was the USC punter.

Spievey is getting tons of hype right now from the scouting circles. Be interesting to see what his 40 will be. At this point in the process 1st round isn't out of the realm.

Kirk Ferentz continues coaching Iowa graduates for their first three years in the NFL, which is why no Iowa player has ever busted.

                      I like this

                      Where should I start?

Aj Edds, Anthony Moeaki, Pat Angerer, Kyle Calloway, Bryan Bulaga, Adrian Clayborn, Marvin McNutt, Derrell-Johnson Koulianos, Ryan Donahue, Amari Spievey, Christian Ballard, Ricky Stanzi, Broderick Binns, Shaun Prater, or Tyler Sash?

Spievey and Bulaga are pretty much gone, from what I understand.

Clayborn wants to stay. He will.

Why isn't the entire roster posted here along with grades no worse than 5th round?

I was thinking 3rd round...by at least a couple people.

You all need to accept the fact Iowa is pretty much loaded with NFL calibre players right now, and will be for some time.

The player I'm most excited about is actually FR LG Riley Reiff.
