  • Draft Discussion: CB's - Haden or Malcolm Jenkins?

Who was a better prospect? Joe Haden now or Malcolm Jenkins last year?
Jenkins was a weakness this year for the Saints, posterized quite a few times.

I'd also like to see some of your top ten CB rankings for this draft.

Is Javier Arenas overrated, or underrated?
    Kyle Wilson, over or underrated?

As great as Darelle Revis is, he was the #14 pick. I can't see Haden being worth a top 10 pick. I don't think Haden is anywhere near what Revis was coming out of Pitt.

Which has absolutely zero bearing on where Haden will be drafted.

I think Haden is better as a cornerback prospect. He is not as big, but has much better speed, is an excellent tackler and is better against the run. I really liked both prospects, but Haden ia better.
I don't think Arenas and Wilson are overrated. Arenas will probobally be a 3rd or 4th corner in the NFL and a return specialist. Iwoild definately take him in the 4th or 5th round. I think Wilson is a better corner than Arenas and has potential to start or at least be a great 3rd corner. I'd probobally take Wilson in round three.

Haden to me looks like more of a pure corner, wasnt there debate last year at this time whether Jenkins was better off at safety?

Haden is considered a top ten pick and during this time last year Malcom Jenkins was answering questions about his speed.

I don't think anybody thought Revis was going to be this good, otherwise he would've been a top 5 pick. He was seen as a mid first by most draft sites.

Everyone knew that Malcolm Jenkins was not going to test well at the combine. But he has some of the best instincts and has a gret football IQ. It's easy to say Jenkins sucks after this one year. But look how good Antonio Cromartie started and now he is ehhhhh. I'm no big on Haden thogh. He may test better than Jenkins but Jenkins has a great understanding of the game and great instincts. There were times where he looked lost but its too early too judge. Look at how the guy in my sig tested at the combine.I'll take someone with ball skills, instincts and the knowledge of the game over a guy who tests well. Haden is ok but he just doesnt do it for me on the field at times.

Plus it's so easy to say so-and-so was much better coming out of college when he's currently one of the top two cover men in the NFL. He would have gone first overall if he was that good coming out of college.

Plus the sky's the limit for Haden. I've said it numerous times, he's played cornerback for three years, starting in college, and started as a freshman. So, biased as I am, I would take Haden. He's also rediculously athletic and was looked at for RB and WR coming out of high school.

I didnt like Jenkins as much as others when he came out. Haden is going to be a real solid CB for which ever team drafts him so Id take Haden

Kyle Wilson and Malcolm Jenkins played on the same team in High School. Here are the stats of their senior year. Not even comparable.

                      http://www.maxpreps.com/high-schools...l-04/stats.htm

Here is some game footage of Kyle at Boise State as well as his Junior Pro Day:

At the end of the day, film doesn't lie. Those who aren't real will be exposed at the Senior Bowl and combine.

Haden is a legit top 10 talent kid has exceptional athletic ability and only got beat a handful of times this year. He has exceptional footwork and incredible strength and explosion and is a well above average run supporter fromt he CB position. If I was picking 6th - 10th and needed a true #1 corner I would have no hesitation nabbing him that high.

Other thing that should help Haden go in the top 10 is no one in this draft is even close to him as far as CB's go with Donovan Warren being a distant 2nd IMO

As a Texans fan, I call dibs on either Patrick Robinson or Donovan Warren.....and possibly on Chad Jones as well...LOL.

Haden is a STUD though. I liked Jenkins A LOT last draft. I'm not a Saints fan so I'm not sure what kind of season he had, but if I had to pick 1, then I'd go with Haden.
