  • Official East-West Shrine Week Thread

I hadn't seen one of these yet, and I really felt like it should be something people paid attention to. Every year, like the Senior Bowl, a player at the Shrine Game may change their stock from the 4th Round to 1st-2nd, maybe UDFA-5th Round. Often times, the Senior Bowl will take a look at the shrine week and pick out the best players to come replace absent or injured players. So, this week of practice (the important part) starts today.

Note: For the Rosters, re-formatting was a *****... The players were listed in alphabetical order by school, though I don't care about the "University/Academy" title, so I shortened things and it looks to the naked eye as if there is no rhyme or reason to the lists.

Saturday at 3 EST. And yes, I believe the weigh-in is today. Hopefully we can get ahold of those numbers somewhere by tonight and "weigh-in" (pun absolutely intended).

I'm suprised Devin McCourty isn't in this game. He's not in the Senior Bowl either so I'm not sure where he is. Rutgers usually sends most of their draftable seniors to this game.

If he's fully healthy then Greg Hardy will easily be the best player on show at this game

I'm surprised Tim Brown didn't make neither game too.

Rahim Alem > Lindsey Witten for your East Top 12 ;)

I think the east should win this game handily, just my opinion there though.

The Twelve was actually just twelve I'd be paying special attention to, which is why I didn't put numbers next to em or anything. I may add a bit, my Top 20 prospects in the game (something like that.) The East squad looks to have a bit more in terms of a potential passing game, and should be very strong on the Defensive Line. The West matches up with an interesting blend of Safeties (Asante, Stuckey, Ward) and a corner that I find intriguing in Verner.

Initially, the East's roster appeals to me a bit more too.

Oh, well I definitely agree; the East's talent definitely appeals more to me as well.

Keep in mind, (I'm pretty sure) we're both east coast guys. There's a lot of middle of the pack PAC-10 and Big XII players and some WAC/MWC conference guys on that West team. That said, the East appeals to me more, but there is likely more to learn (for me) on the West side.

You're right I am on the East coast, but after a second glance at the West's roster the only player that really appeals to me is Dennis Pitta. I also feel that they have a pretty good safety group. However, as you said we can only learn more from this game.

Prospects that need to be diligently evaluated.

Chris Chancellor - CB - Clemson

he may be WLB at next level if he gets bigger than 235. Any lesser agile and quickness S will make him a WLB. Strong conditioning without bulking up or losing speed during bulking up should hold him at SS.

John Skelton - QB - Fordham

The word claimed him as next Joe Flacco. Whilst qb class is rather weak, he lacks stiff competition. He may be ranked higher than other qbs if he shows more than just size and arm strength.

Jamar Chaney - ILB - Mississippi State

He is tough but tough enough to play 3-4 ILB? If so then few teams that may miss out McClain and Spikes may give him a real good look.

Mike Kafka - QB - Northwestern

5 years in college but one year as full starter last year. He was in pass happy offense but he has guts and is not afraid of throwing into tight spot. The word claimed that he has improved the arm strength but what kind of arm strength do they actually talk about. Better than Warner or Brees?

Daryll Clark - QB - Penn State

Mentality and vision of his need to be checked out. Will he switch to RB or WR at next level. Because of solid arm strength, he may stay at qb.

Kion Wilson - ILB - South Florida

He may be OLB at next level but he is MLB sleeper right now. Is he legitimate or what?

Brandon Carter - OG -Texas Tech

Mammoth Guard has solid enough footwork to be Tackle at next level. I believe he is goth and he is no Abby Sciuto. Lol.
