  • CB Dom Franks...4.29???

    http://www.tulsaworld.com/sportsextr...B1_Oklaho23315

In this article, Dominique Franks claims to have been timed electronically at 4.29. If he runs sub 4.35 at 6'1 195lbs...where does he go? He was given a 3rd round projection by the advisory board

You KNOW that playing CB is about more than running a blazing 40.
        Can he cover?? Tackle??
Yeah speed is a necessity for a defensive back, ( hopefully testing 4.50 or better), yet in many ways it's the least important attribute for an NFL CB prospect.

Personally, I've never seen the guy play or heard of him, which isn't saying much.
How did he look on game day in college?

Playing for that team, in that pass-hapy conference, he has to have gotten a lot of practice playing and defending the ball.

I'll forward this thread to Mr Davis.
                Al will be quite interested.
When rookie Howie Long took a breather for one play in 1981, Hendricks called a time out and told his puzzled teammates, "I miss Howie."

Well the way I see it Joe Haden is the clear #1 corner in this draft and deserving of a pick in the top half of the 1st round. After that there are about six corners lumped real close together in the late-1st to early-3rd range (K. Wilson, K. Jackson, P. Cox, D. Franks, D. Warren, and P. Robinson). I think if Franks can rip off a 4.3 40 than he can push himself up towards the top of that second tier.

If he ran the 4.29 in his backpedal I'd be impressed.

Franks is a baller that can also play PR. He is fast and flexable hips. He will
jump routes b/c he reads them well. His biggest problem is sometimes he
has mental lapses and gives up the big play. But other than that he is good.
