  • Bet the Farm on One Prospect Outside the First Round

CC did this thread back in 2008, and I want to do it again this year.

Also for a good read and to see how smart most of us are, check out the old thread: http://draftcountdown.com/forum/showthread.php?t=21048

Well, not me, I said Durant Brooks as a joke, thinking there was no way he could not suck but I was very wrong.

    And remember:

That said, I'll go with Nate Allen

Scott got kinda burned in that old thread, lol...

I am going with Jahvid Best. If the kid stays healthy, he's going to be on highlight reels every Sunday.

Aaron Hernandez, depending on where he goes. If he finds a Dallas Clark type of role somewhere, he'll be one of the premier receiving tight ends in the league over the next few years.

I also like Montario Hardesty, and Ryan Matthews if he isn't drafted in the first.

Don't think somebody with durability concerns really fits the mold. As anyone could see such a player very well failing(due to injuries).

I agree with Brent on this one, I would "bet the farm" that Nate Allen is going to be a solid starting safety for a long time.

I went with DeSean Jackson in '08 and that turned out pretty good.

This year I'm betting the farm on Lamarr Houston.

Brandon Spikes with a chip on his shoulder. Will be in the league 10+ years getting it done.

Jahvid Best. Second choice would've been Golden Tate.

                      Offensive: Ben Tate

                      Defensive: Corey Wooten

I'll go with Anthony Dixon, if you can carry mississippi state to some victories then you can carry mah farm too, and homer pick linval joseph

As I've said several times, I'm extremely high on Ben Tate and Geno Atkins (I should really start watching more teams outside of the SEC). But if I had to bet my modest farm on one player to not fail, it'd be Kyle Calloway. The Big Ten knows how to churn out some linemen, and this guy's only projected as a right tackle so there's virtually no pressure. He'll be a solid blue-collar, workmanlike right tackle for years.
