  • Greg Romeus

The DE from Pittsburgh is ranked very highly on most peoples' draft boards going into the 2010 CFB season.

After watching the Pittsburgh-Utah game last night, I came away extremely underwhelmed by him as an NFL prospect. I specifically focused in on him on every defensive snap. Outside of a batted pass early in the first half, it looked to me as if he had almost no impact at all in the game. He lacked any kind of burst or speed, and seemed to give up on alot of the plays once he was initially blocked.

Did anyone else have this same reaction? Why is this guy considered a potential first round pick in the 2011 draft?

He played a very discouraging game last night and it seemed that the Pitt squad was unprepared for what they walked into at Utah last night

yeah, he looked incredibly uninterested in that game. Every snap I saw was half hearted. He is talented but his motor looked terrible last night.

He looked like ****. Wandstedt is so uncreative it's embarrassing. So predictable it's hard not to laugh.

Jabaal Sheard is a guy to keep an eye on though.

He's more of a LDE prospect than a RDE prospect. I think he can get up to 285-290 as a pro.

I think he's terribly out of shape and perhaps laboring from injury.

He'd barely practiced at all battling back spasms and an ankle issue. I'm not making an excuse for him if neither of these are legitimate issues he was dealing with during the game.

For anyone who missed the game, here's a clip of Romeus vs. Utah.

If Versus is re-airing the game, make sure to check it out.

You better keep your eye on Sheard when you see him. He might throw you through a window if you don't. Pass.

Or he might save your life by rescuing you from a burning building (which he has also done). One bad incident does not a bad guy make.
