USC's Coach Carroll is known for keeping all positions and spots on his depth chart open. He does this to encourage competition and to ensure that he has the best players on the field at all times - whether they're "1st-string" or "2nd-string" players. But how does he convince 10 RBs that they'll all be competing for one or two spots? How does he convince 10 RBs to stay on the team at one time? What's so special?

Because USC is the only school that would accept 9 of them RBs because their academics are so bad they cant get into another division 1 school.

USC is one of the better academic schools within D-1A football. I have no idea where you get your information from, but not only do they have a beautiful campus, but they are in SoCal. It is a very attractive place for kids to play and for many players to get a very good degree.
