  • Post Bowl Games Projected Top 25

Note: If Ohio State beats LSU, switch the 2 teams positions, everything else stays the same. Also note this is my projection, not my opinion.

This should be pretty close. It's hard to say what the voters will do at the very top. I expect WVU to leap frog a few teams because of their impressive victory over a strong opponent (Oklahoma). You have to throw a little common sense into this, and also realize the voter generally rank them based on how they are right now. USC is much healthier than they were most of the season, and looked pretty dominant. The game I would have loved to see is LSU/USC. Also the voters will remember; if Pat White doesn't get hurt early in the Pitt game, they would be in the National Championship game (and I bet they would have won).

    Michigan went 9-4 . . . not 10-4 . . . just so you know

I would put Virginia Tech. over Boston College due to the ACC Championship game.

oh I understand, but the #9 team beating the #3 team, even by 20, still doesn't warrant them jumping 7 spots, especially when theres 5 teams ahead of them that all won, some more convincingly than WV did...I can see them jumping a couple spots, but not to #2...and I still can't see LSU dropping past #4 if they lose, or OSU even dropping past #3 if they lose

How does Kansas leapfrog Mizzou after they lost to them in the last game of the regular season?

                That seems kind of silly.

But wasn't it kind of obvious that VT was highly overrated? ACC was crap all year and in the bowls.

Plus, shouldn't head to head clear up any doubt?

In certain instances yes, it does clear it up, if it's convincing win. I mean, someone would be hard pressed to argue Kansas deserved to get in over Missouri, but they did and beat VT, overrated or not. And keep in mind Kansas did finish the season with only 1 loss where Missouri had 2.

Right, but if we're going that route then Hawaii should still be up there because they only have one loss. Strength of schedule should obviously be factored in.

Alot of things get factored in, but what you have to remember there are a bunch of voters with their own set way of voting. So really you just have to recognize trends in their voting. I project this thing every week, and I'm never very far off. Almost every week I've been 25/25 getting the right teams in, and my order is generally almost exact. So I'm pretty certain I'm just about right on with this. I will say this one was the hardest to figure of the year.

It's just absurd that we even have to do this. If there's ever been a perfect year for a playoff, this is it.
