upset about being 6th; thought we would be 4th---ahead of osu and mizzou

osu didnt look good against lsu and beating ou by 20 is more impressive than blowing out ark; plus ou beat mizzou by double digits 2x

swap OSU and LSU, obviously mine was depending on who won

I debated between if Kansas or Mizzou would be ranked 5 and 7 respectively, so swap those 2

then swap Mizzou with OSU at 4 and 5...I honestly didn't think the loser would fall past 4

6.5/10 (.5 for incorrectly picking the NC) not bad if I do say so myself :)

WV was 4 pts and 2 pts away from top 5, respectively, so it's not horrible...if they hadn't gone into the game ranked 9th they had a shot at a top 4 finish, but IMO there's no way they were going to be ranked ahead of LSU or OSU regardless of outcome, or ahead of USC or Georgia...but that's just my opinion

WVU also had two poor losses to Pitt and USF, and also played in a relatively weak conference.

I'm happy with the rankings. Nice to see that the AP voters didn't buy into the BCS Bowl invitations.

Well by that rationale Mizzou smacked the team that beat LSU just a few weeks before, so should they be ranked ahead of them?

The voters are looking at the whole picture, not just the last game.

ok first of all USC got tremendously punished for stanford. they were never really able to get back into the championship mix after that loss and it really tainted their season with voters. i considered us lucky to have gotten to the rose bowl considering all things. the difference between west virginia and usc is usc lost to stanford early in the season where WVU suffered their upset being the last game of their season.

How is Florida ranked ahead of Michigan? not that it really matters.

At first I was completely bewildered Kansas got a first place vote.. then I realized they were one of only two teams to finish with one loss, and the other got blooooown out in their bowl game.

Still pretty obvious they aren't the best team in the nation but at least there's rationality behind it.

When was the last time a two loss team was the ranked first overall in both polls at the end of the year?

ASU beat Colorado, who beat Oklahoma, who beat Missouri, who beat Arkansas, who beat LSU.

Therefore, I don't understand how ASU doesn't get any first place votes. =D

In all seriousness, I was surprised we are still ranked so high in the coaches poll. I personally feel we should be ranked in the 15-20 range, but I obviously am not upset with the rankings.

well this is the first year a team with 2 losses has won the BCS championship, so in the BCS era I believe it is the first time...prior to that I have no idea

Wow, the AP really loves Florida. Maybe they didn't watch a slow team from the Big Ten kick the crap out of them, in what was essentially a home game.

And Illinois over Michigan in the coaches poll? If I remember correctly, Michigan went into Champaign an beat Illinois, finished with an identical record, and didn't get embarrassed in their Bowl Game.

Oh well, I guess you can't really complain when you have a loss to Appalachian State on your resume. It does pain me to think that had Appalachian State not blocked that Field Goal, Michigan would probably be ranked #10 right now.
